I believe this journey with him as a character in Endwalker should be a quest storyline added in Endwalker? Could his story be possibly a Job Quest storyline for the new Sage class? : As Sage Parsley Rosemary Thyme leaves added to Green Tea is healing and comfort : Congratulations Masayoshi Soken! truly you are deserved here to be a Hero warrior of Light in a very Dark time. Remember his journey to health as a legacy in what has been a tragic year 2020. Truly, he is legendary. His journey to health and prosperity deserves to never be forgotten and told as inspiration for the entire world. This story unifies the entire world. Of course having the support of millions of people must have a positive effect. I would just be a bit careful with that perspective though, to not suggest that someone who "loses their battle with cancer" didn't have enough support from others or didn't try hard enough. At the end of the day, getting cancer in the first place and then dying from it mostly comes down to chance. A healthy person can get cancer, do everything right, have tons of support, and still die.

And that must have been INCREDIBLY hard to translate, I can't even imagine. That's not just him bringing in Soken's emotion, that's him trying not to lose it talking about a good friend of his.

My mother passed away three weeks ago. After dazedly running around with funeral arrangements, I was left empy, numb and everything just turned bleak and pointless.
But FFXIV, which I started playing a couple of months prior, has really been helping me with coping with my loss. The world, the characters and of course the absolutely amazing music make it easier for me to shove negative thoughts closer to the back of my mind.
And seeing this now, knowing what beautiful, passionate people work on this game, really moved me. And Soken's incredible strength is honestly awe inspiring.

I'm sorry for your loss - after losing my father I'm very aware of my mother's mortality, which could be the straw that would break the camel's back because of other things and long story, but I can relate to the immense benefit of something like FFXIV, when motivation is shot to bits, having a game you can get lost in, instead of getting lost in despair, it's a very valuable thing.
WoW has offered less and less reason to bother playing - only in the past couple of days have I played FFXIV properly. I tried numerous times in the past, going all the way back to 1.0 on the PS3. It's finally 'clicked' for me, and I'm grateful for that - it's an enjoyable coping experience. I hope you continue to enjoy the game and continue to process and come to terms with your mother's passing, with as minimal pain as possible.

This goes back to a moment where FFXIV was in a state of chaos, back in 1.0. When Yoshida entered the Team he made a speech about how things will change, how they will take the challenge once more. lots of devs were afraid and weren't sure if they are up for the task. but yoshida told in an interview that soken REALLY believed in him, he was the first one who said ''i'll do it again, i'll give it my all'' kind of, to yoshida after his speech.
so Soken really had faith in Yoshida changing the course of FFXIV, and he delivered. in my opinion, naoki yoshida truly is the real worlds warrior of light, he really feels and gets final fantasy.

I can promise you one thing. I will never skip another cutscene. Not after becoming aware of the love, the passion, and the desire to see us smile.
I always wondered why the game felt like a second home for me. It's clear now, it's made with love, by a family.
Thank you so much for all you have done. I can't even tell you how many friends I've made. How much what you have all created means to me.

I played Warcraft on release, on and off for years. I DON'T REMEMBER A SINGLE SONG. Played ffxiv on release for a year or so and I always remembered the excellent music. Just came back to play and the music is just so good, a true art form to combine the music with the visuals and no one does it better than final fantasy. Be proud, be proud as fuck for what has been achieved.

Thank you Soken and Yoshi-P, for bringing this game to us. To help us, whether we are gamers or not, be together, all over the world.

honestly makes the world of warcraft dev team seem like heartless robots only designed to make profits for activision. I mean the wow devs themselves are not responsible for wow sucking but we have the higherups to blame. Square is letting these dudes and dudettes do what they want and its very clearly paying off since the game is full of love and passion and oh my god does it ever show. So much respect towards the ff14 dev team.

Thank YOU, Soken-san. For your hard work and your fight against cancer. Hope this does motivate whoever is suffering that cursed illness to fight as Soken did. To become Warriors of Light too.

Soken, and the everyone who worked on FFXIV, will forever be responsible for a number of great works of art, community, and more. I hope that I can take part and enjoy FFXIV while listening to his compositions for many years to come.

Lost my mom to cancer on Christmas. These last few years, Final Fantasy XIV has helped me get through it, to remind me to hold on with stories of hope and triumph and perseverance. Soken's music was one of the things that drew me to the game.
