Your right they don’t have to pick a side- BUT unfortunately the way that Bi-racial person shows up (looks) is what white and Black ppl are going to call them and also having a Black or white mother will definitely make a difference regardless of what side they choose because if they don’t society will- I have actually been in all white environments as a black woman and have actually seen Bi-racial people who were raised by white women act as if they were ashamed to embrace their blackness and I have seen bi-racial people who were raised by Black women embrace their Blackness- also you have many white women who had children by Black men and later hate Black men and talk down against Black people to the Bi-racial children- I’ve witnessed this from an in- laws white mother-and it’s really sickening-because being Bi-racial is NOT easy for many
