Other thing is that it hasn’t been established the witches can’t use magic on the road, the other witches just couldn’t access their full magic for varying reasons that were the whole reason for being on the road (Jen’s magic is “bound”, Agatha’s was taken by Wanda, Alice never learned how to do it, Lilia’s magic doesn’t even seem like the blasting type it’s just her visions).
Alice does know how to use her magic, she blasted Agatha in ep 5. She just chooses not to use them because she’s spent her whole life shunning that way of life

That’s when Agatha had powers to protect her, it was foreshadowing for the reveal at the end of the episode. But she hasn’t had power for most of the series and it seems like Alice’s power didn’t stick.

I think Billy's not able to read any of the coven, because it doesn't work on witches. I think why the fortune-telling lady unconsciously said "lifeline split into two" and "the Tower Reversed" is that Billy can use his Wiccan powers when throwing a tantrum but he can only read the minds of humans, not of witches. And the Tower Reversed part explains a little bit about Billy's double life (rebirth) after the car crash near the red hex barrier.
It’s crazy that this backstory also explains Multiverse of Madness. Lilia’s sigil prevented Wanda from being able to find him so she ended up searching the multiverse for her kids

Everyone that was in WandaVision's Westview actually existed. The only things Wanda made from scratch were Vision and her kids. In the comics, when the kids Wanda made ceased to exist, they reincarnated. In the show, Billy's soul inhabited the body of a boy who died at the exact time as the hex dispelling. She created actual souls from nothing. Say what you will about MCU Wanda, but they really nailed her "Too Powerful to Live" era when you look back and think about it.
It would have been even cooler if Wanda had her powers enhanced from the "Soul" stone (the one both Gamora and Natasha had to die for) and not the Mind stone
Agatha thinking she was a badass who kicked Billy out of his chair when in reality her weak little kick barely moved him was the funniest part for me. Which makes perfect sense because she’s been fighting using magic for centuries and probably has little if any hand to hand fighting skills. Even in Billy’s research it looked like Dolly Pardon landed a punch on her for the Jolene incident 😂
It’s decent so far. I just wish Joe Locke’s American accent was better. You can tell it’s not his real accent, he sounds like a 10 year old child. I just wish that they’d let him use his real accent. But it’s nice to finally have a marvel show in recent years that doesn’t make me want to turn it off. I’ve been waiting for this movie & I’m glad to see it. Who would’ve thought a show about Agatha would be entertaining? Crazy times we’re living in.
That car crash stunt was gnarly!!! the way William became Billy in the comics is so complicated. I like the way they did it here. It’s really simplified. What’s really sad is that William’s parents don’t even know that this isn’t their son anymore and they don’t get to their son properly. They think that this is the same person when it’s a totally different person in the body. You see that his crown looks similar to Wanda’s. Did you notice the black heart when he was texting his boyfriend? Which means he’s the black heart on the list of people who need to be on the road in that Rio was never supposed to be there in the first place.

It's not a strong emotional attachment. It's strong emotions. Which is why he could hear ralph boner being terrified of Agatha. In WandaVision Billy could hear the entire town. He liked spending time with Agatha because she was "Quiet, inside." This leads me to believe either she specifically has a protection setup against mind reading, or Billy can't read witchfolk for some reason.
The season isn’t over, but so far this show has done a much better job than Hawkeye or Secret Invasion of introducing a new young character without making the established main character feel irrelevant. I’m very invested in where Billy’s character will go from here and this was probably my fav episode so far. That said the Agatha centric storylines (rio, what really happened to her son, to what extent can she or can’t she control her powers, her dynamic with Billy) also have me excited.
Can you imagine how traumatized those parents are gonna be when they realize their son died years ago and someone else's kid has been living in his body?

Just thought i'd clarify that Billy doesn't actually remember anything about either lives. His only memory is waking up in a car crash screaming the name Tommy. So he hasn't been pretending to be William Kaplan he just doesn't actually know who he is. He would have been told all these memories from William's life by the parents and at some point during the 3 years he decided to just pretend that he remembers what the parents have been saying so they stop worrying about him. He says in the car to Eddie "nothing has felt normal until i met you, and i want you to know the real me, whoever that is..." it isn't until he talks to Ralph in this episode that he puts together that he might be Billy Maximoff "somehow" but he doesn't remember BEING Billy. Now it's possible him having the crown last episode is meant to symbolize that he remembers being Billy now the way Wanda getting her crown showcased "knowing who he is" but My theory is at the end of the road he will get his memories back because the book said "At the end of the road a witch may find what is missing" and it seems like besides Tommy it's his memories he's missing. Having the sigil placed on him meant that Wanda couldn't find him either, that's why she travels the multiverse looking for her kids. So if Tommy's soul is in someone else that person would also have to have a sigil on them in order to block her from finding him.
I have a theory that Wanda’s magic isn’t what transferred Billy’s soul into William’s body, I think Billy did it himself as the hex was closing ;then when waking up alone separated a bond they seemed to have in wandavision, and woke up thinking about him first.
They can use magic on the road, also he used his magic to control the other witches instead of directly on Agatha. It's a good way, Agatha couldn't drain it if she wasn't being directly attacked.
The reason why Agatha could not absorb Billys powers last episode is because he did not use it directly towards Agatha, he controlled jen and Lillia using his magic and therefore it was indirectly used against her. Very clever and creative way to fight Agatha on Billy's part.
It's similar to how Wanda fought Agatha after seeing her absorb her magic. Instead of directly hitting her, she picked up a vehicle and threw her into a house instead.
Nah yeah, they can use magic on the road. Jen created a healing potion when billy was stabbed. They did a summoning spell. The Salem Seven was transforming into all kinda animals and shiz, and they all made brooms and flew around.
Teen/Billy enchanted Lilia and Jen to toss Agatha in the tar pit so he didn't have to blast her with his magic directly. That way Agatha couldn't steal his magic/power.
There was a bit of pushback that Joe Locke was not Jewish or Romanian as Wiccan is in the comics. However I think he is doing a good job. Your friend of mine said he read the Torah very well.
Lilia is about to have her biggest moment of the show. Not only do we know now that she placed the sigil on Billy, but every episode she has been randomly mentioning specific tarot cards. I think that similar to Inception where music was used to synchronize the kicks (the ways to pull them out of the dreams) in all the dream levels, these tarot cards are going to have a similar effect in the end.
The tarot card mentions aren't random. They're directly relevant to the scenes she says them in. Three of Pentacles is about companionship, High Priestess can be about hidden talents, Three of Swords is about grief, Knight of Wands can be about reckless action, The Tower reversed is about resisting change.

There is a slight possibility that he might have obtained some powers. I'm still not clear if Agatha gave him "Quicksilver" speed with that purple necklace that had him under her spell, or Wanda actually gave him those powers and the purple necklace just "controlled" Ralph. I mean, Monica Rambeau got her powers by going through the Hex three times, but they mentioned her DNA had already been "re-written" by the second time, when Wanda yeeted her out of the Hex. I wonder if there is going to be yet another "spinoff" about all those people that unwillingly got absorbed by the Hex during WandaVision (Darcy, the S.W.O.R.D. agents that became a circus, the "beekeeper" guy that went through the sewer early on, etc.)
I’m starting to think that William and Billy actually merged maybe and that’s what kept William alive. 1. Body snatching a dead persons body isn’t allowed in the marvel multiverse. Down in multiverse of madness when doctor strange body snatched his dead variant. 2.billy says that he’s not entirely William anymore, hinting that he might still have parts of William in him It’s a long shot but I hope that’s the case otherwise that’s gonna be really fucked up that the parents don’t know their son really is dead dead.🥲 But if he is dead dead I hope they explore the ramifications of that and how it could affect his parents and his relationship.
Billy can't read Agatha's mind. Remember from Wandavision there was a scene with Billy and Agatha where he said he likes Agatha cause "she's quiet". He didn't hit Agatha with his power he controlled Jen and Lillia to toss her in the mud

Agatha's power siphoning being a "curse" would actually make perfect sense....if it was a protection spell! Maybe she had the protection spell placed on her, which is why it not only happens when she wants to take another witch's power, but even when she doesn't want to. Maybe placed on Agatha by her own mother or...more interestingly....maybe by Rio.

When she says she is there to get her bodies while Agatha gets her powers. Like her last coven. And then Agatha looks directly at Rio and says "dont" when Billy was about to die. They also showed Agatha this episode with the Titanic and Hendinberg, and they have been known to be "close" for centuries. Rio talked about someone she loved and having to do her job, which was most likely talking about taking Nicholas Scratch for the Dark Hold deal. That's why Agatha is her scar. Most importantly, in the mid-season trailer, she says, "All roads lead to me"

Also worth noting, he was alive as Billy Maximoff for no more than 10 days in the hex. He has now been William Kaplan for 3 years. Hopefully the resolution to his story will be him accepting that he is as much Kaplan as Maximoff, if not moreso at this point.

I actually really dislike that they had the Kaplan soul die because it feels like they're trying to write off that part of his identity in favor of the Maximoffs. It's a tremendous disservice to the character. I'm holding out hope, though. I'm reading very heavily into the fact that no one has called him Billy Kaplan, yet. So far, he has only been referred to as Billy Maximoff or William Kaplan. It is my very strong hope that by the end of this season he says "My name is Billy Kaplan," as a way of reconciling both sides of himself. A fusion of the two idenities.

The reason why Agatha could not absorb Billys powers last episode is because he did not use it directly towards Agatha, he controlled jen and Lillia using his magic and therefore it was indirectly used against her. Very clever and creative way to fight Agatha on Billy's part.
It's similar to how Wanda fought Agatha after seeing her absorb her magic. Instead of directly hitting her, she picked up a vehicle and threw her into a house instead.
Y'know, this does also establish that Wanda could create souls and that her kids were *actually* real, not just real to her like it seems in MoM.

Nah yeah, they can use magic on the road. Jen created a healing potion when billy was stabbed. They did a summoning spell. The Salem Seven was transforming into all kinda animals and shiz, and they all made brooms and flew around.
Teen/Billy enchanted Lilia and Jen to toss Agatha in the tar pit so he didn't have to blast her with his magic directly. That way Agatha couldn't steal his magic/power.

Lilia is about to have her biggest moment of the show. Not only do we know now that she placed the sigil on Billy, but every episode she has been randomly mentioning specific tarot cards. I think that similar to Inception where music was used to synchronize the kicks (the ways to pull them out of the dreams) in all the dream levels, these tarot cards are going to have a similar effect in the end.
The tarot card mentions aren't random. They're directly relevant to the scenes she says them in. Three of Pentacles is about companionship, High Priestess can be about hidden talents, Three of Swords is about grief, Knight of Wands can be about reckless action, The Tower reversed is about resisting change.
That wasn't Quicksilver, that was Ralph Bohner. Y'all must have missed the finale of WandaVision, there was this big reveal where they show how Agatha had been controlling Ralph Bohner.
There is a slight possibility that he might have obtained some powers. I'm still not clear if Agatha gave him "Quicksilver" speed with that purple necklace that had him under her spell, or Wanda actually gave him those powers and the purple necklace just "controlled" Ralph. I mean, Monica Rambeau got her powers by going through the Hex three times, but they mentioned her DNA had already been "re-written" by the second time, when Wanda yeeted her out of the Hex. I wonder if there is going to be yet another "spinoff" about all those people that unwillingly got absorbed by the Hex during WandaVision (Darcy, the S.W.O.R.D. agents that became a circus, the "beekeeper" guy that went through the sewer early on, etc.)

I’m starting to think that William and Billy actually merged maybe and that’s what kept William alive.
1. Body snatching a dead persons body isn’t allowed in the marvel multiverse. Down in multiverse of madness when doctor strange body snatched his dead variant.
2.billy says that he’s not entirely William anymore, hinting that he might still have parts of William in him
It’s a long shot but I hope that’s the case otherwise that’s gonna be really fucked up that the parents don’t know their son really is dead dead.🥲
But if he is dead dead I hope they explore the ramifications of that and how it could affect his parents and his relationship.

Agatha's power siphoning being a "curse" would actually make perfect sense....if it was a protection spell! Maybe she had the protection spell placed on her, which is why it not only happens when she wants to take another witch's power, but even when she doesn't want to.
Maybe placed on Agatha by her own mother or...more interestingly....maybe by Rio.

@@cazper420 I don't have a problem with her being Lady Death, my issue is there hasn't been much build up or clues to who she really is, so non comic watchers or those who avoided spoilers will be confused. I think the only clue we got was that missing persons report in the pilot of a woman missing after a car crash but again that was awhile ago

They also showed Agatha this episode with the Titanic and Hendinberg, and they have been known to be "close" for centuries.
Rio talked about someone she loved and having to do her job, which was most likely talking about taking Nicholas Scratch for the Dark Hold deal. That's why Agatha is her scar.
Most importantly, in the mid-season trailer, she says, "All roads lead to me"

Also worth noting, he was alive as Billy Maximoff for no more than 10 days in the hex. He has now been William Kaplan for 3 years. Hopefully the resolution to his story will be him accepting that he is as much Kaplan as Maximoff, if not moreso at this point.
God I hope so. His Kaplan identity has always been important in the comics and I simply refuse to call him Billy Maximoff. It's just wrong.

I actually really dislike that they had the Kaplan soul die because it feels like they're trying to write off that part of his identity in favor of the Maximoffs. It's a tremendous disservice to the character.
I'm holding out hope, though. I'm reading very heavily into the fact that no one has called him Billy Kaplan, yet. So far, he has only been referred to as Billy Maximoff or William Kaplan. It is my very strong hope that by the end of this season he says "My name is Billy Kaplan," as a way of reconciling both sides of himself. A fusion of the two idenities.
