Thank you soooo much for uploading theese 3 videos! I live in NH, and it started snowing every day since last Wednesday. Needless to say, I wasn't ready to end my season (I had a bike in for service since last Monday!) and was hoping for a few more days over 35 degrees...I use your (3) uploaded videos to put myself to sleep at night! Laptop, in bed, propped up on a couple of pillows- I watch it in HD and turn the volume up just enough to know that she's revving between 3,500 -5,000, riding modest hills, taking nice sweepers, sun glinting off of the chrome & glass, puffy clouds, occasional other vehicles... Can't thank you enough for keeping the dream alive. Love the bike (it's in for service!) and I have a Hyosung GV650-which I also love. Feel free to post up more (selfish request!), I miss my bike and you seem to have plenty of riding room in the 'sweet spot' for this motorcycle! Dave

      Hi Greg and David.
Greg, it's a 2013. I have added saddle bags, engine guard, floor boards and a windshield. It's been a total blast.
David, thanks for the kind comments. I really love the GV250, but as you know, it's a bit of a challange to ride at fast highway speeds because it is a bit light. The GV650 is a fantastic bike and I also would really like to have one of those as well - specially for long distance highway cruising. My wife actually wants me to get a URAL with a sidecar someday. Maybe I will. 3 bikes? Why not. Can't have too many bikes can you?
More videos will be posted this summer.
      Cheers
      Doug

Douglas Logan Douglas--May I ask your previous if any riding experience, approximate size, height weight, etc.?
I had only, years ago, ridden a friends' 700 or 750 a few times, in a spot with nobody else, off road...and then months later, after riding double with him to the airport (LAX--CRAZY), I rode it home solo, ten minutes away.
Then from 2008-10, three years of a 150 Scooter, pretty much daily (long story, gave my car to my girl, thinking I might move out of state, replacement older car shipped out to me, but got totalled by a stranger parked!).
I was looking at Yamaha V Star 650 Classics, similar in looks to this, but bigger and heavier (I think yours is around 388, the VStar tops 500 pounds once fueled up).
I am 5'8, strong for my size always, but old enough to not get ahead of myself when it comes to 2 wheelers (Scooting in daily life taught me everyone will try to kill you, at least once a day, somebody), so I am all about crusiing, looking ahead and behind, etc, not crazy speed, but would want to feel I COULD do the freeway, as the Scooter, just a cpl trips on freeway owing to detours and was probably 150 pounds lighter than your bike, so YEAH, not a regular experience, though legal).
Even the VSTAR is supposed to get buzzy, vibrational at 65 or higher, but being heavier...I guess that is my question--along with have you or do you feel a need for a bigger bike yet?
Much thanks, IF you should answer, no worries!

      Nun Ya Hi Nun.
Like you, I had many years of moped and scooter experience, but found that I could just not keep up with prevailing traffic very easily. Even in the suburbs. I could generally do the legal speeds, but Texas traffic is sometimes crazy. This tended to create situations where cars agressively split my lane, cut me off, honked and generally disrespected my right to occupy my lane position. So I bought a bike that looked commanding, had real speed and power but was light enough to be nimble around town and on the country roads. The Hyosung GV250 is fantastic for that role. I can pull my bike up beside any Harley, and it still looks like it's a member of the club and not a toy.
I am 5 feet 10 inches tall and weigh 155 lbs. No problems at all. The only drawback is that becasue it is so light, it's not steady on the highway at speeds over 65. It easily does speeds up to 90 mph, but that gets a bit dicey. Short highway trips - no problem. It does tend to get a little buffeted around by the wind, so I probably wouldn't ride it from where I live (Austin) to say Sturgis. I have heard of a local GV250 owner who drove his bike on the interstate to North Carolina and back. That's too much white knuckling for me!
I'm thinking of also getting a GV650 and with the little bit of extra weight that bike looks much more suited to long distance cruising at interstate speeds. But even if I also get a GV650, I still would not sell the GV250 - I love it too much. And as you know, every bike is fun in its own unique way - and you are allowed to own more than one of them. Good luck! Doug

Doug, well you are right. As much as I love the GV250, and, the keys will need to be pried from my cold dead hads- I feel the same about my GV650? Completely different bike, and, it demands more respect, but, it eats highway miles- no problem! I put 300 miles on it on Wednesday- and, my partner was very impressed with the 650's power, agility & road manners. Of course, I had a large OEM windshield, paint matched hard saddlebags ad a sissy bar (destroying the Terminator look of the bike!) But, I've never felt like I had too little: power, storage, cruising range, torque- this bike does it all very well! With 7,500 miles on the ODO, it has never stranded me, and, it is excellent shape for at least 5 times more abuse! Yes, it had a bad Regulator/Rectifier on delivery (New, Old Stock- 2008, delivered 8/4/13 with 2 year Hyosung Warranty!), but, repaired under warranty and it charges very well now.
For it's modest delivered price, you get a powerful, agile, almost light weight road eating cruiser. If you buy new, old stock- you can get steeply discounted prices (Think: $5,000.00) with a factory Warranty, so, you can sort out the QC issues out of thier pocket. Once sorted, it is also a definite keeper- I own (3) bikes- as discussed and, a 2014 Triumph Street Triple 675 R ABS, which I adore as well. But, I sold a perfect 2007 Yamaha FJR1300A to buy it (a highly engineered motorcycle, swiss watch perfection) but- too heavy and the riding position was too super sport for this 50 year old body!
Finally, there are excellent forums to support your purchase: alternativecruisers.com & korider.com come to mind immediately. So, there is a database of solved problems, very helpful owners available & technical support- right at your fingertips.
Good Luck, and, let me know if you buy one- we can exchange e-mails, I'll send pix of mine (so, you don't make the same mistakes!) and, I'll help in any way I can.
      Warm Regards, Dave

      Nun,
I'm perfectly satisfied with a 650. If I were to 'change' bikes, I would consider a Kawasaki 650, as it has a broader range of available uses, and, allows for longer load trips. a bigger motor? Umm not really needed, unless you need more torque, lower in the rev range...

What year is your GV250. I have a 2009 and have spent the whole winter accessorizing it. Look forward to more vids of the bike.

Hi I want to know. Did your winsheild help in order to reduce Air hit driver body Specially face area.

The windshield ends at eye level. I still get some wind in my face, but less. If it was totally dirty, I could still see the road in front of me. It does, however, significantly reduce the wind buffeting my chest. Overall, I love having one.

Very good bike. I've had it seven years and only had to replace the throttle cable. Looks like new.
I ride it down country roads and downtown, but it's too light for serious highway driving. Gets buffeted around by transport truck wash. But I'm more of a backroads fan myself so it's perfect for me.
