I’ve learned that whatever this guy says, I need to pay attention. As a designer, I also appreciate the guidance for others to match up your pix to look good together and go with your content. It’s so Obvious that it needs to be said. Thx for posting!
Have to disagree with the dentist example. When someone goes to a dentist website they know what the dentist does, and usually know what they need. The original headline in the example actually differentiates this office from its competitors and gives the prospect peach of mind as to the quality and scope of work that they do.
Such fantastic info thanks Wes! That button color tip being the only time you use that color is brilliant. There's a trap of focusing too much on incorporating branding colors into every possible element of your site and you can end up almost hiding your buttons and CTA's.
I love how in the intro video example... that guy didn't find what he needed on one page... so instead of clicking the back button... he just gave up on life.
I've definitely fallen into the SEO trap with some of the headlines i've written lol. Great reminder to write the hero for humans & not search engines. State what you do... How we improve your life... So simple but powerful, thanks Wes!
Wes, since 80-90% of visitors aren’t ready to buy or even speak to us, should we make the one featured call to action button something further up the funnel?
@@WesMcDowellInc My summer project is to watch most of your videos, next to my website project. You have truly high-quality content. Very easy to follow and educational and right to the point. you have very good teaching skills too! When it comes to web development and strategy, you are my new Sensei :P
Hi Wes, amazing video as always. I have also realised Fat Joe is using your photo and website copy to advertise. Would you recommend them for web copy writing for homepage?
Your advice is awesome thanks. Is it bad to say "Schedule a Free Consultation"? We want them to know it's free but the word "free" also cheapens the value of it. Hmm.
This is a great question; I would suggest A/B testing this (after you've done all the other pieces Wes suggested). "Free" is a responsive word, and very few businesses actually charge for a consultation or quote but it does make people click. Other Calls-to-action would be "claim your…" "get your…" "Book your…" keyword being "Your" implying, it's yours already, you just need to do the one thing to get it. Good question though. And good tips.
Hi Wes can my home page have a video invite to join my free mini video series to build like and trust before booking a phone call or do I need a separate home page and funnel landing page to my free course ? I’m just starting a new site at the moment thanks
Thanks Wes, making some huge changes on my website since I found you. Your videos really rock!

Ha, that means a lot to me. And yes, that image match issue is super prevalent, and can really sink an otherwise good site!
I completely second that. I stop whatever else I'm doing when I see an email from Wes.
So true about the use of images.
You're my go-to web guru! Thank you for always pumping out valuable content!
My pleasure!

It's true that you always want that CTA to stand out. Thanks for watching!
liked all but that CTA color should not be anywhere else on the website
Thank you for your video, it was really helpful!
I'm so glad to hear that!😀👍
Really helpful thanks!

We all have our bad days, Steve :)

Thank you so much for this video Wes! I’m a self-employed artist currently redoing my website myself and this was very helpful.

Me too, Wes really helps organise and simplify my brain on a website lol
Best of luck with yours!
While running ads Should we use different platforms for landing page or we should make it in our website itself ?

Thx chuck! Not sure what you mean, never heard of that company. They’re saying I’m a client?

Complimentary?

I actually think its fine to use Free in this context, its a powerful word...And I also like Philip's suggestions, all great stuff!
@@WesMcDowellInc Thanks!
