It's a shame I forgot to put Denmark at #38, because I had this comedy gold lined up for my comment: "Positivity doesn't work :) if you are being beaten over the head with it :) in a very twee and obnoxious way :) even as somebody who loves that kind of thing. :)"
I actually thought, that you will put Denmark at number one for a second, but then I remembered, Italy haven’t been shown, so I got really confused for a second lol.
I have really unpopular opinions but these are my top 3: 1. Czech Republic - i cant stop listening to this, it gives off amazing vibes and it for sure deserved more than 7 points from the public votes 2. Spain - again, i cant stop listening to this song and it deserved more attention 3. Switzerland - everytime i hear it i wanna get up and dance

How can you not love this ? The staging was fire, and i don't understand the lyrics, but i just know they slap ! 7. Norway 🇳🇴 Modern and traditional, i love all of their voices, they match so much together, i just can't help but love this song !
Lol at Denmark missing (I believe #38). I appreciate you putting many underrated (mainly non-qualifiers) songs higher! And finally found another person who don't overrate Cyprus, Sweden & Switzerland like the normies. I would just put Estonia much lower at 40th, otherwise a great list 😊 My Top 41 of ESC 2019 (in brackets are the difference in position before rehearsals): 41. Belgium 🇧🇪 (-2) 40. Estonia 🇪🇪 (=) 39. Montenegro 🇲🇪 (-7) 38. Switzerland 🇨🇭 (-1) 37. Cyprus 🇨🇾 (-2) 36. Finland 🇫🇮 (+2) 35. Croatia 🇭🇷 (-1) 34. Latvia 🇱🇻 (-3) 33. Malta 🇲🇹 (+8) 32. Ireland 🇨🇮 (-2) 31. Denmark 🇩🇰 (+5) 30. The Netherlands 🇳🇱 (+3) 1. Albania 🇦🇱 (=) A very competitive year before show tbh. Unfortunately, some have bad live performances. Still, a very memorable year as it's my 1st year following all the way through!
Hello!! Yes, I did forget to add poor Leonora- unfortunately that kind of represents my feelings about the song. :,) It's harder to do it once the results are out, but yes, I try to look at every song impartially and put them where I think they belong, whether they qualified or not. I know some people like any good pop song, but for me, someone who likes experimental, folksy and ballad songs better, it has to be REALLY strong for me to love it. I personally don't get Replay's popularity in particular- I didn't like the drop, the fashion, the choreography, the vocals, not much at all besides Tamta herself, who is a certified diva. I can understand not liking Storm- I only put it relatively high because I find it quite inoffensive, and okay to listen to, but nothing to get excited about. There were a lot of let-downs at the live show which was disappointing! It's still a year full of good studio versions, but that does make this job a little harder because I have to decide how to balance ranking a song based on how good it is in theory and how good it is in practice. I've also definitely paid more attention to the pre-show now than ever before! Thanks for an interesting comment with a lot of talking points! I always like having something to think about. :)
Thanks for sharing your opinion in an elaborate way. My list is somewhat different, but here we go: 41. Montenegro - An absolute trainwreck on stage. I can see some likability here, but it comes off as an improv group, not as trained musicians who prepared for this. 40. Finland - It's very repetitive and static. Lacks the energy and depth needed to evoke any kind of emotional response. 39. Belarus - Zena was great in live, but this is the most annoying song in the bunch. Feels cheap and has a memorable bad hook. 38. Croatia - My country, but not my choice. Roko owned the stage, but his perfect vocals couldn't distract this song from feeling pretentious and badly written (yes, Croatian lyrics are cringeworthy too). 37. Ireland - This felt just very thin and unmemorable. There is some nostalgia in a good way, but it really doesn't elevate this. The song just comes and goes. 36. Moldova - I know I'm in a minority here, but I like this classical style of melody when done right (see Russia, North Macedonia and Israel above), but these lyrics feel lazy and Anna, while great vocalist, doesn't show any connection to the meaning of the song. 35. San Marino - No idea what to think about it either. It's obviously meant to be a guilty pleasure and it works that way, but at the same time, his singing was off key and this was objectively not stellar. I like it, but my brain says it's quite bad. 34. Germany - As a fan of musical theatre, I wasn't against this at first, but this song needed some context (in a film or something). This felt like two random women shouting at each other and the feminist message felt forced. 33. Armenia - It was very average for their standards. The song has an interesting, but confusing rhythm. Her delivery was oddly passionate, but unmemorable at the same time. 32. Azerbaijan - My unpopular opinion. This is certainly well produced, staged and sung, but feels hollow, calculated and a bit pretentious. 31. Lithuania - Just very average in almost every way. Jurius is great on stage, but his gentle delivery isn't necessarily in sync with the sense of adventure these lyrics are trying to evoke. Besides, Light On is my NF winner, so I'm a bit sad for that. 30. Georgia - Hmm... as most of Georgian songs, this is really niche. Not sure if it appeals to me, but I can respect the energy poured in this. 29. Latvia - It grew on me. It's a bit static and goes on loop, but it feels authentic and creates a nice atmosphere for that time. 28. Belgium - Interesting and dark song with layered meaning. The performance went all over the place and I have no idea who was this aiming for. 27. Hungary - I respect the authenticity and the lyrics are undoubtedly beautiful. The melody is somewhat too monotone and has way too long solo instrumental parts. 26. France - Feels sincere and self-indulgent at the same time. Odd language translations, but nice melody. A plus is that France finally learned how to stage. 25. Cyprus - It's catchy, seductive and fun. Still, it being a copy-paste job of Fuego must be flaged. 24. Denmark - It's sweet and the language shift adds to it's charm. If it was a JESC song, it would've been even better. It's slightly juvenile for ESC. 23. Serbia - A classy and well written ballad. Her voice is amazing. It feels a bit cold for a song about undying love. 22. Austria - Nice, introspective song. I love the idea behind it and how subtle it is. It did unfortunately failed to bring that needed magic on stage in it's full potential. 21. Malta - Cool, colorful and danceable. Feels a bit programmed to win, but it does a fine job with it. 20. Sweden - Professional and sleek as always. It has a fresh staging and likable backing singers. A bit overrated by the juries, but still quite good. 19. Switzerland - Energetic and fun. Sizzling performance indeed! It's riding on Eleni's laurels, but has it's own identity too. 18. Poland - It's perhaps not in the style I'd usually listen to, but this is very unique and interesting. They should have qualified. 17. Spain - It's unpretentious, happy and catchy. Sometimes that's all you need to make your day. 16. North Macedonia - I first thought it was tonally odd, as it has a nostalgic music and uplifting lyrics, but Tamara owned the stage and made this feel truly inspiring. 15. Israel - Quite a classy song. Emotions feel real and there's enough drama in the build-up. 14. United Kingdom - In a lot of ways it's by the numbers X-Factor style ballad, but his voice is great and in this version I can see what's supposed to be uplifting and catchy. Didn't deserve to end-up last. 13. Slovenia - Magical and atmospheric. They have a tangible chemistry on stage. If the second part of the song had a bit more variety it would've been perfect! 12. Czech Republic - Modern and retro, charming, colorful and fun. Just very enjoyable in every way! 11. Greece - Ethereal and picturesque. The staging is just serene and lovely. Her voice is so unique! 10. Romania - Dark, atmospheric and moody! Wonderful performance too. I have no idea how did this sit out the finals. 9. Italy - It's very unique, well written and deep. Even though I don't listen to rap a lot, this song is great! 8. Portugal - Mystical and absolutely outside the box. Might be hard to access by general audiences, but I respect the craftsmenship so much. It really transports you in time and space. 7. Russia - My kind of dramatic and intense theatrical performance. Everything about it felt grand! 6. Norway - Epic schlager sung by three amazing singers with great chemistry. They owned the stage and deserved to win that public vote! It's both funny and actually good. 5. Australia - Cirque de Soleil par excellence! It was just magical! Nothing more to add. :-) 4. Estonia - You are free to doubt my taste all you want, but I find this incredibly charming, sweet and well staged. ;-) I am happy both my places 3 and 4 made it to the finals. 3. Albania - Deep, atmospheric and intense. Jonida's voice really does wonders and the lyrics are beautiful too. ;-) 2. Iceland - A straight-up heavy metal anthem about hate and resistance? What's not to LOVE?! :-) 1. The Netherlands - I am very happy with the winner as this is the most beautiful and soulful song of the year. It's just a masterpiece. :-)
Iceland , Italy and Portugal were my favourites as well, I am gonna subscribe to you to entirely egoistical reasons such as solodifying my own opinions
Honestly, if the Walking Out live version was sounded like the studio and had more serviceable staging, I could maybe have stood to put it in my top 5. I was just kind of disappointed in it. :(
I don't actually use it personally , but it's impossible not to pick up the lingo when you're a big pop music fan. :) I am so proud of thinking of "JoStan Papai" and nobody has commented on it yet!
love how it goes from a very pianissimo sing in Latvia to forte-fucking-isimo notes from Azerbaijan. My ears...oh how they bleed. I regret wearing headphones.
I was loving this video, and then I saw Portugal at number 3. Very disturbing song. Every time I hear it, I skip it fast! think it deserves its rank from the contest.
It's understandably very divisive as a song, but I love it. It's creepy and creative in all the right ways. At least you liked the video up to then?? 😂
@@eurovisiongal7007 Turn that around: a mistake because it's only your first video :) But if you indeed put Denmark on place 38, I gladly forgive you a thousand mistakes more ;)
Shoudlve gotten Jordon clark freeks for eurovison but no people like rice version. John Lundvik sabotage it Also the staging was poor and the came the people in suits its like the hell?
Welp. It's time. XX: UK: I wont rank my own country. 40: San marino: uuuuuuuuuurg. 39: iceland: not that kind of screaming! 38: Czech republic: um... it would be higher if not for that 4th line. 37: Montenegro: what... was... that? 36: Portugal: yeah. Sue me.... actually dont. 35: Sweden: too generic 34: switzerland: same 33: estonia: same again buuuuut pity points for camera man 32: ireland: it's cute but beaten by others. 31: Cyprus: uuuuuuuhhhhh.... no thanks. 30: Austria: ok I'm in like territory. My hatred limited. 29: Israle: I expected less than what I got so it gets brownie points 28: Belarus: it's better in studio. 27: latvia: it's ok 26: Moldova: I...like it I guess 25: Italy: sorry. Not my thing. 24: North Macedonia: forgive me. It's not bad, just no where near best. 23: Finland: vocals need work but it's still cool. 22: serbia: quite nice. I like it. 21: Poland: super unique. Love it 20: malta: my least fave of the best of the show. 19: lithuania: very cute. 18: Belgium: so mysterious and gracious. 17: Hungary: so soothing and nice. 16: greece: better than Cyprus. Thats all I can say. 15: croatia: I know I dont like the generic but who could hate a song as cool and angelic like this 14: Georgia: so over the top. Plus I like maths soooo... 13: Australia: dude. The courage to sing on a stage like that.... 12: Albainia: QUEEEEEEEN! 11: Azerbaijan: this was cool. Especially the vocals. 10: the Netherlands: didnt expect it this soon huh. 9: denmark: such cuteness can not be contained in a single performance. So it shared some to Austria. 8: Germany: yep. I liked Sister. No one can take that away from me. 7: Slovenia: hello underrated. 6: Norway: hah... its actual final position. Still love it tho. 5: Armenia: vocals could use work but aside from that, EPIC! 4: France: deserved SOOOOO much better. 3: spain: so fun. Deserved better in the finals. 2: Romainia: I relate. I'm just a day out for this. Still epic. 1: Russia: very much different to your opinion. Melodramatic? Its Sergey. It's no were near his 2016 performance of extravogent but this was jus epic to me.
It's so weird because I like Sergey as a person/performer... just neither of his songs do it for me. (You Are the Only One isn't even in my top 20 either... ready for the drama when I put a 2016 video up!) I liked 'On a Sunday' but I felt like Scream wanted to be taken seriously and be a spectacle but I was just like 'ok'. It didn't feel captivating or even particularly enjoyable to watch for me. I generally prefer songs to feel legitimate. I hope that wasn't too annoying of me, we all look for different qualities in our favourites. :)
@@eurovisiongal7007 Yeah. We all have our opinions and I accept yours. Also if I did rank the UK, they would most likely be around the late 20's to early 30's area. Most likely 32nd to be honest.

1:05 "UK came last and Germany got a 0... what a perfect way to end the decade."
what a perfect way to start one too
Iceland , Italy and Portugal were my favourites as well, I am gonna subscribe to you to entirely egoistical reasons such as solodifying my own opinions
Hi! I honestly do that too 😂 I see someone with similar taste to me and I'm like "hmm, yes, how valid of them". Hopefully we agree on other years!

Honestly, if the Walking Out live version was sounded like the studio and had more serviceable staging, I could maybe have stood to put it in my top 5. I was just kind of disappointed in it. :(

1. Netherlands
2. Australia
3. Sweden
4. Italy
5. Albania
Thank you for putting Iceland in 5th
SOMEONE ELSE WHO LIKES PORTUGAL???
You're definitely on stan twitter
Hatrid Mun Sigra is my favorite song!❤️
Where is Denmark? And Place 38?
I think Denmark is Place 38 ^^'
omgg first video and i already made a mistake. :( i might have to do a reupload. but thank you for your comments.
@@eurovisiongal7007 Turn that around: a mistake because it's only your first video :)
But if you indeed put Denmark on place 38, I gladly forgive you a thousand mistakes more ;)
@nesnahck haha, nothing personal of course ;)
There was something so childish and predictable in the melody that I was actually offended by it 😂
Don't blame me, but I kinda liked Denmark this year
thank from australia
I cant finish to read your comments!! Are so fast!
Any longer clips than about ten seconds and this video would've been taken down for copyright probably, lol
Replay and better love is so good lol

We have a same winner 💲💖
HELL YEAH SOLDI REPRESENT
MAHMOOD GANG!!!!!!!!!! 💸💸👏👏
What is it with people's obsession with the Portuguese entry? It's ok but not that good
Nahhh why is moldova last?
I feel like I’m the only one who doesn’t like Hatari
I was honestly expecting them to be way more divisive than they were.
Shoudlve gotten Jordon clark freeks for eurovison but no people like rice version.
John Lundvik sabotage it
Also the staging was poor and the came the people in suits its like the hell?
Ok but if singers could erase songs because they ripped off their song ruslana would become thanos😂
4:54 insufferable? Elaborate

Moldova was to good for eurovision 🇲🇩
Germany have churches in the sky...
Greece sounded literally like a copy of that Ellie Goulding song
ARmenija,Latvia,Rumunia,Albania bad from Lithuania.Sveden 17?
It may not sound like it, but the Portuguese song is very pretentious
Welp. It's time.
XX: UK: I wont rank my own country.
40: San marino: uuuuuuuuuurg.
39: iceland: not that kind of screaming!
38: Czech republic: um... it would be higher if not for that 4th line.
37: Montenegro: what... was... that?
36: Portugal: yeah. Sue me.... actually dont.
35: Sweden: too generic
34: switzerland: same
33: estonia: same again buuuuut pity points for camera man
32: ireland: it's cute but beaten by others.
31: Cyprus: uuuuuuuhhhhh.... no thanks.
30: Austria: ok I'm in like territory. My hatred limited.
29: Israle: I expected less than what I got so it gets brownie points
28: Belarus: it's better in studio.
27: latvia: it's ok
26: Moldova: I...like it I guess
25: Italy: sorry. Not my thing.
24: North Macedonia: forgive me. It's not bad, just no where near best.
23: Finland: vocals need work but it's still cool.
22: serbia: quite nice. I like it.
21: Poland: super unique. Love it
20: malta: my least fave of the best of the show.
19: lithuania: very cute.
18: Belgium: so mysterious and gracious.
17: Hungary: so soothing and nice.
16: greece: better than Cyprus. Thats all I can say.
15: croatia: I know I dont like the generic but who could hate a song as cool and angelic like this
14: Georgia: so over the top.
And don't be afraid to rag on your own country's entry! I did it. The BBC totally deserves the criticism (but not Michael, tbh, who did his best).
@@eurovisiongal7007
Yeah. We all have our opinions and I accept yours. Also if I did rank the UK, they would most likely be around the late 20's to early 30's area. Most likely 32nd to be honest.
Also I cant wait to see 2016 list. I... know like 3 songs.... being the top 3.... eh.
Same winner! Sergey stans unite!
