Hi, I am a solo vagabond currently traveling in Georgia. WhenI inquired of my Tbilisi tour guide, where she would recommend as a more natural alternative to urban Tbilisi where I could spend a week or so. She recommended Kazbegi. My research led me to your amazing video which sealed the deal. Since you have now brought me along, I was wondering if there were any guesthouses in the area you could recommend? The 5th Season looked marvelous but I suspect it may be out of my price range.
I know that this is an old video, but I am extremely grateful to the TH-cam algorithm that brought me to your channel and (1) of the reasons that I don’t follow the trending on TH-cam (I also encourage everyone not do so😉). I live in North Carolina, USA basically the most beautiful US state on the East Coast, with the highest mountain range and the birthplace of the Appalachian Trail & the Blue Ridge Mountains. I am an amateur hiker, LOVE the outdoors and I have hiked in most of the local National Parks and stayed in many beautiful AirBNB Cabins and Tiny Homes in NC, TN & VA. Your channel is totally underrated and the level of quality of your production is just unparalleled; you are portraying in your videos what we want to experience as viewers on those places. Georgia is just in another level of stunning beauty, and you have delivered a top quality product, that matches NATGEO without exaggeration. Thanks again for what you do👍
Well, heartfelt thanks to you for such a great and generous comment… high praise indeed. We really aim to portray what you would see and experience if you were there, so to it’s fantastic to get such feedback. And yes, Georgia and its mountains are quite spectacular. Thanks again 🙏
I am planning for hiking of Georgia and i was know how beautiful a country but I couldn't find imagery sources for my trekking routes. Right now i just found awesome source like a treasure. Thanks for your great videos.
Your attention to detail is so incredible! You really have nailed the perfect way to showcase a specific region in both relaxing and entertaining ways. Your footage and how you edit it with the sound design is just so top quality. That shot from night to day (@15:54) of the Gergeti church was brilliant. Also, that change in music from the natural waterfall sound to this incredible mountainside Dariali Monastery (07:54) is what these long form hiking trips really showcase so well. Both natural and human beauty. Also, have to love the dogs that seem to keep adding up the further you go up. What a day to remember. Oh and Shangrila like hotel at the end. I need to spend many months in Georgia now. Food too looks top notch. I'll be watching this over and over. Thanks for sharing your adventures Kim and Del!
Thank you as always, Kyle! I was so pleased when I watched back the footage and realised Del had captured the Sunday morning church bells. I liked that sequence too ; ) And Shangrila indeed, I was so delighted by the 'bad' weather forecast forcing us to hang out an extra few days. What a spot. It really is too easy to spend months on end here, you can fill a whole summer and autumn just hiking in the mountains and camping or staying in family guesthouses along the way (and we did!). It's been over a year now that we've been in Georgia and there's still an entire corner of this small country we haven't even stepped foot in! There's just so much to enjoy here, but we'll get to that area soon...

Hello, u did amazing very quality video! I would like to ask u about weather please, which month u was there and how was a weather ? Because I planning to visit in April
Thank, Anna! That’s cool you’re planning a trip to Kazbegi. We were there in early July and have never visited in April, so can’t say for sure about the weather. Hey Jocelyn, I think Kim already replied to you on Instagram with some extra info about this. Although a little bit steep at first, the trail up to Fifth Season is very easy to follow. It's in the video at 17:23.
Georgian mountains have a soul and they are not just beautiful landscape for country, they are pride, history, important piece of country's culture 🗻⛰️🏔
Great video guys! What time of the year was this trip? We are planning a trip for mid April, and the weather seems to be all over the place for that time of year.
Thanks Francois! This was early July which was pretty much perfect. Yeah, you can expect places to be more difficult to reach in April. There will still be plenty of snow so your experience will likely be quite different than what you saw in this video. Good luck and enjoy 😃
Glad to get your appreciation and happy to know you enjoyed the video, and that it made you feel like you were back in Georgia. This was filmed in early July. Thanks again 🙂
Thanks a lot! Yeah, you should be able to use it no problem. In our experience, Georgia and Georgians are very relaxed about the whole thing and we flew our drone plenty. As long as you avoid army and police places then you should be fine 😃
Your video is beautiful, thank you for these amazing places you are sharing with us🥰 Please advise if mid pf November is still good to visit or not? thank you🤗
Thanks! Very happy to share : ) There might be snow higher up (for example on the way to Gergeti Glacier) in Mid-November, so it might not be so easy to visit all of the places in the video, but you should still be able to see plenty. And some snow will be very beautiful! We have a guide to the area over on our blog if you need more info - www.goingthewholehogg.com/kazbegi-travel-guide/ Happy travels! Kim
Thanks! July and August are good months for hiking, into September as well. Otherwise there's usually too much snow (which is course is great if you're into skiing!).
We would recommend four days or more to properly explore and see the best of the area. Guesthouses and hotels usually arrange drivers and/or small group tours to take you round the main sights. Otherwise, you can find drivers/small tour operators in the main square in Stepantsminda. For a detailed look at the best things to see and do around the area, check out our Kazbegi travel guide: www.goingthewholehogg.com/kazbegi-travel-guide/
you guys are amazing... never came across such a good video ... i am travelling on 9th to tbilisi and on 11 i will be in Kazbegi.. which hotel you will advice me for my stay in kazbegi.. thsnks
Thanks Zubair! Very happy to hear you enjoyed the video and glad you have the chance to visit yourself! There are lots of accommodation options in Kazbegi for various budgets, we've rounded up a few of the best choices in our accompanying blog post - www.goingthewholehogg.com/kazbegi-travel-guide/#WhereToStayKazbegi Hope you find somewhere that suits your travel style and budget : ) Have a great time, Kim
Thanks for watching! We feed any trail dogs that tag along with us whenever we can. They are generally 'community dogs' , fed by local families and restaurants, etc.
Hi, need your advice if you can. I'm planning to visit in two weeks and the places besides Tbilisi that I want to visit are Mestia, Koruldi lakes, Kazbegi city, Gudauri for (friendship monument, paragliding ), Prometheus caves. I'll get a hotel in Tbilisi, but regarding the other places where should I stay (like central point) in one place and then I can visit the other places from it and come back to rest. I'm mostly into hiking, and I think all these places are not far from each other. Did you had a personal taxi driver that would take you any place and come to pick you up when you finish hiking?
Hi, these places are quite far from each other. For Svaneti Mestia is a good base, you can visit Gudauri on the way to Kazbegi (Stepantsminda), and Prometheus Caves are in a different part of the country, closer to Kutaisi. You can arrange taxis locally to pick you up after hiking, and use gotrip.ge for inter-city taxis. Have a great trip!
LOVE IT !! I absolutely loved your last accommodation and would love to stay at the same place , was it spring when you guys visited there coz i see so many wild flowers ?? I am thinking to visit Georgia next year somewhere in April and i want to explore Kazbegi .
Thank you Shweta! That last place was so amazing. We've never stayed anywhere like that! A little busy at the weekend, but it was very quiet and peaceful during the week. We saw wild flowers all over the mountains up until the end of July, and loads around Juta (we were there in early-mid July). April in the mountains is the end of the ski season, so there will likely still be some snow around. But shorter hikes to Gergeti Church, Truso Valley, Fifth Season Juta etc., should all still be possible then. Happy planning! Cheers, Kim
Pretty much all of it in a suitable 4x4, and many people take the tour option in just such a vehicle. Still, it's also a lovely walk and it's great to go at your pace.

Beautiful video! Loved it! BTW, will I be able to use my DJI Mini 3 Pro Drone in Kazbegi? How was your experience of flying drones on Georgia?
Thanks a lot! Yeah, you should be able to use it no problem. In our experience, Georgia and Georgians are very relaxed about the whole thing and we flew our drone plenty. As long as you avoid army and police places then you should be fine 😃
Thank you so much for your kind response!@@GoingTheWholeHogg

A beautiful place indeed 😃

Your video is beautiful, thank you for these amazing places you are sharing with us🥰 Please advise if mid pf November is still good to visit or not? thank you🤗
Thanks! Very happy to share : ) There might be snow higher up (for example on the way to Gergeti Glacier) in Mid-November, so it might not be so easy to visit all of the places in the video, but you should still be able to see plenty. And some snow will be very beautiful! We have a guide to the area over on our blog if you need more info - www.goingthewholehogg.com/kazbegi-travel-guide/ Happy travels! Kim
Beautiful video! What time of the year do you recommend going into the mountains?
Thanks! July and August are good months for hiking, into September as well. Otherwise there's usually too much snow (which is course is great if you're into skiing!).
woww ❤ which month have u visited
Thanks! We were there in early July 🙂
How many days should I stay in kazbegi and how about group tour to see the best places in kazbegi?
We would recommend four days or more to properly explore and see the best of the area. Guesthouses and hotels usually arrange drivers and/or small group tours to take you round the main sights. Otherwise, you can find drivers/small tour operators in the main square in Stepantsminda. For a detailed look at the best things to see and do around the area, check out our Kazbegi travel guide: www.goingthewholehogg.com/kazbegi-travel-guide/
I'm in Georgia at the moment and Kazbegi was up on the list for places to base myself for a while. Looks fantastic!
Cheers!
Yeah, there's plenty to do around there, enjoy!
i love your videos.. nature un-spoilt

Благодарю ❤
Thanks for watching!
Планирую ехать в те края, фильм замечательный, очень вдохновляет 😊
I am happy for you!!!I am georgian....
Thank you!
What time of the year is it? What season?
This was in summer, early July
Do you carry dog treats , just saying, looks like dogs seem to tag along. Great work and Thanks
Thanks for watching! We feed any trail dogs that tag along with us whenever we can. They are generally 'community dogs' , fed by local families and restaurants, etc.
I like the video
Glad to hear it! Thank you
Hi, need your advice if you can.
Cheers, Kim
@@GoingTheWholeHogg Thanks a lot Kim for the reply . I would then also like to visit in july coz it looks beautiful during that time of the year .
@@shwetasingh9460 Great idea! It's a good time for hiking and enjoying the mountains : )
Hi. I planned to go to Juta on February 25th. How is the weather condition on the date? Does it still snowy or it has reduced? Thanks!
Hi, we haven't been at this time of year, but I think it will still be very snowy.
Looks amazing 1 Which month did you go ? We're planning a trip here for 10th April
Sorry, just noticed you went in March
We were there in early July! Hope you have a great trip 😊
Which month was this dear ?
It was July 🙂
How much of that first hike is drivable? 😁
Pretty much all of it in a suitable 4x4, and many people take the tour option in just such a vehicle. Still, it's also a lovely walk and it's great to go at your pace.
Wow. A discovery for me too.
Hope you enjoyed it!
@@GoingTheWholeHogg hated it, because now I want to travel and stuck in Alberta!
Great video👍🏽
@@ShotInTheDark hopefully it can happen soon enough 🤞🏻
Wery good!
