I use to work at a grocery store. We always had to destroy everything. It wasn’t because we cared that people took it, but people would take it then try to bring it back as a return.
Awesome findings Frugal Daddy, that lady scared me when she was yelling at you ha ha. We all get caught, freak, I've been caught at 4am twice, and I'm thinking to the lady that caught me both times " what are you doing here at 4am" well I guess she was there for Inventory, I stopped going so early in the morning cause of it being slippery, dark and I always go alone which is cool but I now only go during day and not as often. Today I went and found a beautiful Brass desk lamp, Two foot Christmas tree with burlap/leaopard sack bottom, Beautiful Angel and I pulled tab and she turned on and lit up, Four packages of flavores for coffee, one wine glass, two books, all in BBB at noon. You guys did great with all the meat and produce, great findings! Thanks for sharing, stay safe.

If it is public property, then it is ok to check the dumpsters. Only if it is private property. You can't go through a dumpster. They are renting the spot where the store is.

All skps/dumpsters are locked away in ALDI's and LIDL's here. they use crushers!!! Such a waste, glad you saved some, I was on the edge of my seat waiting for someone to catch you that time...

You should look around the area next you go there and see if there are any cameras pointing to the garage bin area, because that woman opened that bay door a bit to quick as if she seen him back there on camera 📷. Just tell them you're looking for empty boxes, packing paper, bubble wrap & found good food...lol I wouldn't be nervous at all, as it is not illegal unless stated on the dumpster. They can't call the police, they say that to imtimidate you; it would have to be code enforcement that MIGHT do something, if anything.
To me it doesn't make sense that they chase you away. The stuff will go to landfill any way. When they see you take stuff out and not illegally dumping, as well as not making a mess - why not turn around and walk away and leave you to it?
