Me too. I used to go fishing with my dad and my grandpa but the motor broke down and there were no replacements available. *Good times* :(

Great old outboard motors. I have a 1976 Chrysler 6hp. It pushes my 1976 12' Mirro Craft around the lake.

I use my 1973 6 hp 62HD for trolling. At low idle while trolling it has a tenancy to creep up rpm's . Is there an adjustment i can make to stop the creep?

love this engine, bought one for my dad (new)..at 58 hours it drop bottom plug, told my dad to float test it..if it floated we'd used it some more..course it never floated..put it in another plug and away we'd go..dad pasted away back in 82 and it never been used again..some how my brother-in-law has it..been trying to get it back for years...oh well.

Couldn't you in theory wire in a momentary push button switch to the ignition wires for a kill switch?

Hi Ted, I am looking for a 6HP Chrysler for the Maritime Museum in Okoboji to donate. Do you have any in the 5 to 15 HP range?

I have this same model and I'm experiencing overheating issues. The water pump is working but I'm thinking that the compartments around the cylinder heads may be clogged. I was wondering if that could be the problem, and if so, if I remove the head will I be able to find a replacement head gasket? Thanks for your time.

I use my 1973 6 hp 62HD for trolling. Is there an adjustment to the steering tension. It flops back and forth too much when trolling at idle.
Thanks for all your information here. Darin

Hi, I have been watching all of your videos for a couple of years now, thank you so much for all of your information. I am working on building the entire white collection from 2-15 h.p. so you are helping me a great deal. Graeme from Canada.

Any idea if they differ in size a great deal. I have a 1969 Chrysler 5hp, but the engine block is cracked. There's a few blocks on eBay, ranging from 5 to 10hp. They look identical. Are the cylinders bigger or are the blocks themselves bigger? think I could put an 8hp in it?

I enjoy your channel. Curious how to fix fuel leaking at motor nipple when fuel line connected. Mine will spray fuel as I prime.

    Hello again
I got a 10 foot boat that can't have a heavier motor than 27 kilos (59 pounds)! I have asked this question before about a Evinrude 6 hp. How heavy are a 6hp Chrysler between 1970 and 1985?? In Norway it's very rare to find Chrysler motors so thats why I'm asking you.
    Btw nice outboards!

      Dinkymaster7 The 4.4/8hp Chrysler's are all around 47LBS. The 9.9/15hp Chrysler's are 54LBS.
