The Ross Revenge (as in Ross fish fingers ) is a fighter she was the flag ship in the Icelandic Cod wars which got nastie!!! and she won , so she can cope with this. She should be made a protective icon and preserved by the government regarding her history and the change to how we listen to music she should have museum status and be kept preserved for future generations
Never understood what the (conceived) appeal was , with these once great stations after about 1982......They were so inextricably connected with the 60's and (somewhat less) in the 70's . The attempts to resurrect those old glory days were bound to fail....mainly because of the changing music trends , which were totally unsuited for these ships and AM reception. 🔔Maybe a Caroline "Golden Oldies", might have a workable chance.... let that not be a "streaming" service, of which we've got enough already.....📻🎵🎶
The fans from the 1960's and 1970's were disappointed with the 1980's Caroline. To be fair, without Radio Monique they never made it financially till the raid. But, I do say that they are stubborn and I hope they live long.
Caroline failed in the 80s with its album format. Laser 558 however was very successful playing hit music in 1984/5. Caroline learnt from this and played hit music on 558 and did well. But today Caroline is playing music that nobody has heard of on AM. That doesn't work today.
Excellent..many thanks for sharing this. I believe that the Ross Revenge is the only ship to have ever been rescued from the Goodwin Sands.
Great footage here! And tomorrow Caroline launches 24 service on 648 medium wave at midday live from the magnificent Ross Revenge
