Nidaros Cathedral is a 724 year old medieval (originally Roman Catholic) cathedral, the most northern medieval cathedral in the world. It's now run by the Church of Norway (Lutheran). Originally in 2017, the manager of the congregation, the cathedral cantors and the parish priest rejected the application from the concert organizers for Aurora to perform claiming that they didn't want a non-Christian pop performer to use the cathedral space. After an appeal by the concert organizers the church council itself overruled the priests and allowed Aurora to perform.

Aurora fans are called Warriors & Weirdos. It is something Aurora came up with in the beginning of her career around 2014-15, when fans asked her what she called the fan community, and then after that she wrote the song "Warrior" as well.

One of my favorites. It's interesting because in the few songs you've listened to of hers they've all been the very slow songs. You might be surprised that a lot of her songs are very upbeat dance songs. I'm not sure what to recommend next but I'd suggest either the entire KEXP performance or HAIK documentary. This performance is incredible. The whole concert is just a 1h of pure magic. She has so much great music and her expressiveness adds a lot to live performances. She is very "in he song". Interesting thing that she wrote it (at last partially) when was 9 and finished it a little later.

This song may have been inspired by the book Veronica decides to die. Aurora has read the book multiple times.❤

Her performance of Through the Eyes of a Child at this concert is incredible. I personally like it even more that the a cappella one you already saw.

This song is pure perfection, from the vocals, music, lighting and production. I don't know if there is any way this cold be better. This is my favourite Aurora song. It makes me cry every single time.

Nidaros Cathedral (Norwegian: Nidarosdomen / Nidaros Domkirke) is a Church of Norway cathedral located in the city of Trondheim in Trøndelag county. It is built over the burial site of King Olav II (c. 995-1030, reigned 1015-1028), who became the patron saint of the nation, and is the traditional location for the consecration of new kings of Norway. It was built over a 230-year period, from 1070 to 1300 when it was substantially completed. However additional work, additions and renovations have continued intermittently since then, including a major reconstruction starting in 1869 and completed in 2001.

If the documentary is The Haik one, you’re in for a treat. There’s a concert at the end and it’s very powerful 💜

One of those just watch Aurora performances. So good! "Churchyard" (live on KEXP), "Under The Water" (live on The Honda Stage) and the music video for "The Seed" show different sides of her. I'm sure you'll get to them all if you continue. Personally I love the many stripped /acoustic versions of her songs, as all you really need is her voice, a guitar/piano and maybe someone on harmonies.

Aurora's masterpieces are more than just beautiful music and vocals, most of her songs have deeper meaning.....I have seen and enjoyed your reactions to Murder Song 54321......mercy killing, Lucky.......suicide, Through the eyes of a child.....Loss of wonderment. Other titles such as It happened quiet and Churchyard.....domestic violence. Remember also most of these were written before she was a teenager. Check her performances at Haik, Tiny Desk, The Current and KEXP.

exactly! Her lyrics are masterpieces. What she is saying is my most favorite side of her. So many reactors never talk about that! 😮

She's from Norway she sings in a "nordic" way so very little vibrato which I find so refreshing since most female singers sing all in the same way.

There is no "bad Aurora" but "Live Aurora" is almost always better. The one song that I like the video better than the live versions is Exist For love. Valentine Aurorathon Please

    Very nice reaction!
She wrote this when she was 9😳
Every song from Nidarosdomen is amazing, but some of my favourites are:
“Through the eyes of a child”
    “Soft Universe”
    “Little boy in the grass”

Please react to another great singer from Norway. Angelina Jordan, just turned 18, does a lot of covers but has also released an EP called "Old enough" with originals last summer. I recommend "Now I'm the fool" or "Good in Goodbyes". You will be amazed.

I feel the same way. Repetitive vibrato sounds empty, over the top fake and wearisomly lame. I appreciate it much more as a purposeful stilistic choice.
