My favorite part of the mailbox is that the entity would've answered "Stanford Pines," which the kids don't know isn't Stan's real name. They'd think he wrote them unless he buckled and told them the truth before activating the portal.

I love how you are reacting the same as Dipper during the Mabel episodes. Makes you realize Dipper is quite amazing. He is around Mabel 24/7 and he can keep up with her as well as is used to her energy. I respect that.

These sorts are so fun, and there’s even a few that have small clues towards future events, though obviously I won’t spoil what. Season 1 is great, but season 2 finally pays off all the stuff set up in the first season and builds on it. Can’t wait to see your reactions to it!! 🌲
Apparently Disney had no problems with Lefty until someone at a meeting described the ending as a mass suicide but by then it was way too far into production to drop it. They did veto Mabel's shorts about death and smiles though
I just learned through the comments that the hide behind is actual folklore, which is really neat. The Left segment caught me off guard there honestly. I did not expect it the end like that and was very surprised it made into the episode
I'm happy that you saw the shorts. I really like them, they add a bit more weirdness (and horror, seriously that island head that tried to eat them was terrifying, especially when you know what it's saying) to the town that isn't necessarily explored in the main episodes. It reminds us that Gravity Falls can not only be an odd, but also scary place to live in. 13:35 Yes, exactly my thoughts! If you pay attention, you can repeatedly see Stan more or less begrudgingly playing along with Mabel's (and Dipper's) shenanigans in various episodes. Even if sometimes due to bribery, it's still sweet. As for the rest of the shorts, I can also recommend Fixin' it with Soos and the two Mabel's Scarpbook shorts. They're spoiler-free and one of them even gets (very briefly) referenced in the main series. But it's nothing important, more like an easter egg.
I really do love seeing them act more and more like a family. And I would love to see a season of them just exploring all the weird stuff of Gravity Falls
The hidebehind is actually a real cryptid in american folklore. It was blamed for the disappearances for loggers, and was said to have an aversion to alcohol. So loggers would drink alcohol to repel the hidebehind.
Anytime I talk about Gravity falls or a horror game in a forest, my Grandma will say “the one with the hide-behind in it?”, which is also one of my favorite creatures in Gravity falls, it’s design is so cool

Ok ok- ONE more thing! At the end of each dipper shirt there was a flash you probably saw! It was a piece of an image - the image is a giant eye with a big old red X slashed through it. I used to go camping a lot, and one year that I was staying at a trailer park with my family in summer we actually DID celebrate summerween! The entire trailer park was involved, and it was great :)) they’d been doing it for years
Fun fact the creator of gravity falls Alex Hirsch voices a lot of character he is the voice of Stan soos old man mcgucket the gnome leader Jeff bill cipher he also voices a lot of other characters
I haven’t looked at the voice cast yet because I don’t want to be spoiled on future characters, but I’ve been learning he voices many. Man of many talents!
The other animated shorts are all spoiler free for someone who's done with season 1 but there are some shorts with puppets and those have HUGE spoilers so make sure to avoid them for now if you haven't watched them yet

Fun fact about Soos dressed as the Goblin King from “the Labyrinth”: there was originally going to be an episode or short that would be one big reference, but Disney shot it down because it thought a vast majority of the target age audience wouldn’t get it
I would love to watch more in the style of Dipper's Guide to the Unexplained. I mean, that would be an ideal way to bring back Gravity Falls while keeping it separate enough to not ruin the completed story. If they ever do decide to bring back Gravity Falls in a new form (as they've done with so many other series (and often not in a good way)), I really hope that's the direction they take.

I’d just like to point out something. I remember someone saying to you that season 2 is just as enjoyable as season 1, but I would say that season 2 is SLIGHTLY better than season 1. I say that because when you complete the series, if you ever made a top 10, 15, or 20 list of your favorite Gravity Falls episodes, it would mostly be filled with season 2 episodes. Also, season 2 has other things that Gravity Falls is known for; heart, emotion, and character development. What I mean by that is in season 2, we learn a lot more about characters that we didn’t know well and/or didn’t really matter in season 1. And lastly, there multiple cryptograms/ciphers in each season 2 episode. The good part about that is when and if you try to look for them, you get to be just like Dipper and have a mystery to try to solve.
Also, no spoilers- but idk if you knew but the journey pages are actually readable (atleats some of them are)- idk if you knew that- but whenever dipper opens the pages of the journal it's fun to always pause and read the page - some really good fun Easter eggs and interesting stuff!! ;)
