- Do you get hot and sweaty playing Tetris? Probably not. But China have come to the rescue with a portable games console which has a fan slapped on the top of it!

I thought this was a terrific format for a video. I don't normally comment but I thought I'd take a minute to request more like this!
Ah thanks a lot! I’ll try find some more.
@@TheRetroFuture Not sure if they meant the products, or you Elliot! I have to say I prefer this format too. Slightly more whimsical, but still to the point and informative. It's been fun watching your channel evolve over the years and see you experiment and find your groove. Keep up the great work! Thanks for the content!
Thank you so much!
HI MITCH
@@MikeStavola hi Mike!
That thing should be called: "The FanBoy"
I guess he found a new "Fanboy"
Speed is ultimate
I think he should build a fanboy
Guess that's his PUNishment huh? YEA.
and the desktop version is called the fanicon.
I’m a big fan of that title
Also first I think not that anyone cares xd
I’m a big fan of this comment
i am a big fan of u
The Retro Future I’m a big fan of you too!
I'm a big fan of this.
Mom said it's my turn on the Fan Boy
😭 MOMMMM!! SHE'S DOING IT AGAIn
*and Chum Chum*
It is 5:35am, and I can't sleep again
Time to procrastinate more and watch the ha ha funny Retro man
Ha ha funny retro man
You mean me? I'm flattered!
Lol
My eyes dried out using it...
😄 Hahahhaha.... 🤣
No one:
Built in Fan: perfect for racing Games
Handheld: plays tetris 🤷♂️🤦♂️
fun fact it has a racing game on it
@@MrJ0mmy Thank you. I didn't know that. I thought the block game is the only game on this handheld.
Yes so now you can play Tetris. With S P E E D
XD
All these block games are Tetris as primary, but they have found ways to put other games on the same lcd. Sort of. A racer, a shoot em up, an arkanoid. That sort of thing. The Tetris “blocks” are controlled each as a single unit of the screen, though, so you effectively have an lcd that is literally 10 pixels wide by 20 high. Which is great for Tetris but reaaaaaally shit for anything else.
They’re often available for 2-3 euros and have been for decades.
Next video: Putting a fan on a GameBoy for no reason
Yes!
@@IanC14 I would love to see that! I would be so awesome!!
Yessss!!!
Please!
That “pure shi-not very good” broke me. I couldn’t stop laughing 😂
4:49 Pretty sure thats MapleStory music 🤔
It is 100%
Lift music
Yep, that's the Henesys background music
yea it was definitely surprising to hear it coming from that thing lol
Yeah dude the MapleStory music hit my nostalgia like a brick
The character on the splash screen of the TV console is Maya the Bee, very popular in Germany and Poland :D
Tom nook is making me feel uncomfortable I owe him over 2 million bells.
😂😂😂😂
Is 100k bells rookie numbers?
@@mhammadalloush5104 it is but dont worry tom nook will have you in more debt in no time
The Retro Future random pieces of crap🤣
When the console likes you so much that it becomes your fan
Hahahaha... this is a good one 🤣
I was blown away by how amazing this console is
LMAO
Hey Elliot, i just wanted to say you're a huge inspiration to me, and because of you i've picked up this hobby of yours, and i'm loving it
I'm going to be honest, for a second I thought you made a Gameboy with a fan attached to it.
He should do that actually
Same. Would not surprise me at this point LOL
Same lol😄😄
Tbh the first one, the TV one, seems like the most high effort one out there. Be cool just to have it on a shelf to display too.
That fan system is a genuinely useful thing. I promised myself I wouldn't get anymore tetris clones after the last one I bought (shaped like a computer mouse). But I think I'm going to break that promise.
Please link to a photo or listing of the computer mouse one I must see it
Not the best picture but you get the idea.
@@simonday9013 eyy thanks! Wow what a beauty I'm tempted myself
They do an upgraded version now with a colour screen and a bunch of generic NES games
What's you're top 3 tetris handhelds? I'm interested in buying one.
"Lets try Street Fighter"
*Loads Street Fighter 2010*
Me: cries in AVGN
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS-
It IS just an FC.
16:27 "This is cool!"
Yes, I think that's what fans are for. :P
It's amazing that those 99 in 1are still used! I actually own one of these kind of devices back when I was 8 years old (i'm 35 now)... so 27 years ago and it looks identical!
Dude what a “fan”tastic video! Congrats!
Being a tabletop fan myself, *I felt that.*
Man, your Tetris skills are outstanding.. amazing.. on a league of their own!!
This is obviously my first time I ever seen a mini portable rechargeable fan that has something other than just the flashlight (for example)... Instead, that particular one that you reviewed there has a brick game instead of the flashlight, although it feels as cheap as ever, though...
15 years ago many of these devices would be pretty impressive if they retained the price point but adjusted for the times
Me: *looks at title*
Komdy
Omg the Maplestory background music is a direct RIP
That last console was quite refreshing
There are so many things out there.. thank you for making a video about them.
Your channel got me back into Nintendo, love the vids
Glad you have a buncha fans who love the retro man
We need a video showing off all of your handheld consoles. The whole collection must be very impressive to see at once!
just discovered your channel yesterday and i love it ! ❤️
Concerning the XYC console. If you open the console and remove the four pegs they put in the diagonals, it controls better. If you usesome moldable compound to raise the middle peg about 1.5 mm, controls even better. Add a dpad with 3M double sided tape, you can do fighting games after button remapping. The first mod is mandatory and easy to do, and I am surprised you did not mention the fact that without it, it only registers every other diagonal press. I noticed it right away, and you should have as well.
I want that little TV one for my 1/3 scale dolls lmao
Omg I bet the immersion while playing excite bike is INSANE! hahaha thanks for finding this weird thing!
LGR calls these types of items "oddware".
thank you reviewing the retro mini tv because there was no reviews on that
You are a genius at naming videos and I applaud you
Very enjoyable video Elliot, some interesting items :-)
Heyyy
Woah he didn’t even notice you
Nigga wah
Woah, the Q8 actually running those 3 surprised me. I might actually get one of those despite it taking a year to turn on.
Your channel needs to blow up! You’re too funny man 😂😂👍
I’m happy you posted this review so I knew the hype wasn’t all hot air it’s pretty cool
Dude... That menu music ripped straight from Maplestory Henesys takes me back to my childhood
Wow this Build really blew me away
I hope this video circulates quickly cuz that console’s so cool it absolutely winded me.
Imagine shoving a Rasperi Pi into that tiny TV
I love where this channel is going, even if the best way to describe that is an intergalactic bullet train heading into the sun
Not gonna lie, I'm a fan of this dude's content
Same here .. he makes some awesome weird mod vids 😆
@@WickedGamerCollector I'm a fan of your videos as well-
1:35 why is the left controller on the box mirrored
Lol
I just noticed this lol
he has no friends
I'm pretty sure the carry case for my old 3DS XL was an ORB one.
How
Elliot has magical pockets with infinite batteries available at all times
At first i was not a huge fan but now it has blown me away.
On the „one or two player“ choose menu. these two bees are from the japanese/german tv show „Maya the honey bee“ (originally Mitsubachi Māya no Bōken or most well known in German „Die Biene Maja“).
Ngl I thought this was just the fan console and still clicked the link 🙌
5:18 - good to see Bonzi Buddy is still alive and well! 😂
I know I'm 2 years late to the party but this video was just delightful. Much love from NY!
Your voice is mad calming I want to move outta Texas in just change my life around
"That's a bit stingy" love the commentary!! ^0^
Your voice is so calming
From the thumbnail I got excited there for a second and thought it was a Playdate variant! :D
square with a triangle in it means you can screen share or screen cast... which is pretty cool for a device like that
I thought this was a wheel of fortune console but it’s a fan lol! Great vid!
The ORB has the same library of games as some MyArcade products in America.
That little TV kicked on and immediately took me back to early high school...that's straight up Maplestory music.
On the "one or two player"-screen the two bees Are from a german Cartoon: Biene Maja
Not german
Most USB rechargable fans are able to run for 5-8 hours.. but only on the lowest setting. if you switch them just to level 2 or 3, they often only last for 2-4 hours. but they are really cool for the summer.. so if you want a fan, i would buy one specific for that task without a console build into it (you then can use it in bed on your nightstand or similiar).
There's a one in Brazil called Game Brick, that has the same software of the one with the fan. It costs about £2,50 and it's made since the 90's
1) Elliot, you are one dry mof'er in this episode with your physical comedy and sarcasm and holy crap I'm gone
2) apparently I had an exact clone of whatever is on that third gamefan thingie as a kid, I distinctly remember playing it. Definitely laid out in more of a Tomagachi or Pokemon mini configuration minus the right-side score screen though. It was kind of really fun given how boring the wait was where we were as I recall, but it was nice to have it and just hang out with the fam all day, I fondly recall that.
Gotta love that the retro TV console has original ROMs yet uses unlicensed music from Maplestory on the menu
When you get 512MB memory card in 2020 haha :D
That is Real Retro Gaming 🤣
When you get a 1.44mb floppy disk in 2020
Lol 2001 cameras were cool
Useful for some applications when you're modding old hardware and it's picky about storage size
@@SlavTiger that's actually true
Pretty sure that's big enough for the entire NES collection lol
i got one of those orb consoles (with a different name) it was the arcade cabinet one and it stopped working pretty quick and sometimes it would randomly go into some weird test mode.
Lmao, you really are going insane in quarantine, keep making ridiculous stuff, maybe make the wide game boy
Wide boy 64?
That pun is FANtastic
i came in fully ready to watch more than a quarter hour dedicated only to the one with the fan that as featured in the thumbnail
Nice ‘Bond’ watch strap! 👌
Next video: I made gameboy with fan for no reason
Nice
That title was really _cool_
The square and triangle means TV output, I think.
The little bee on the start menu is actually a german kids show character she is called „Biene Maja“
This channel is super underrated
HE SAID IT BOYS! HE SAID IT!
*AIRHORN*
Every orb console has the same games on it. They usually have them in supermarkets at Christmas for cheap stocking stuffers
My Mom just past by my computer and took a look at my screen and said:
- Mom: "Oh, a fan with video games on it, Amazing!".
- and I said: "No Mom, it's a game handle with a fan on it"...Amazing!
That Orb TV is interesting -- it's tech is based on the Generation NEX and OneBus VT03 Famicom clone hardware from 2005 developed by the Chinese companies JungleTac and Hummer Technology. It is the same basic hardware as the NES, but uses a completely custom PPU with up to 16 colors per 16x16 tile instead of the original NES's 4 per tile. It should be completely backwards compatible with existing NES software, but it's interesting to see whomever made the Orb TV made at least some games to use the enhanced PPU. That makes the thing interesting.
I'd love to see a teardown video of that, Elliot!
mod that mini tv! throw some sweet games on there! The dual wireless controllers are rad too
Straight up, I swear that the retro TV's menu was playing the Maplestory Henesys Market BGM. EDIT: It is, I'm certain. Henesys: Floral Life.
yess thank you. I was trying to remember where the song came from and it's 100% Maple Story
So the background music of the 1st console is actually from a korean MMO called Maplestory. Its the BGM of a town within the game called Henesys. Really wild to hear it from a non related console lol
That last one looks like someone saw a Anemometer and said “how can I make a games console out of this?”
The design alone makes it unique.A plug and play that doesn't even require a tv.Ill give points for creativety.
Its awesome! It blows me away!
This is the perfect handheld for me when I get into heat when playing games
Same I am also a big fan of this console its really cool
The thing I never liked about the battery packs with screws is u could strip the screw and then basically make it unusable unless u destroy that pack happy they have rechargeable battery’s
7:03 "..two keyholes" LMAO
That TV is pretty fun looking.
Every fan mention[s] here is so auotomatically hilarious and idk why
-I mean, HEALarious-
I wish I knew more about who designed the program that runs on that generic LCD. The program was used at least 10 plus years ago. Frogger, snake, pong type, tanks are the games I remember from it
Now your playing with power,
FAN POWER
I recognised Maple Story's music on the smol TV
Retro Future Grab Bag? I dig it
