20 minutes of bliss...
The best I've ever heard. Heaven.
Awesome! Kirk Lightsey -piano; Rufus Reid -bass; Eddie Gladden -drums
fantástico !! inconfundible su voz.
I'm not really sure when I will stop crying. This is American history in a very sublime and important way.
Your statement spoke volumes! There will never be another
Dexter.
And not only American, Musical History and Human and Sentient Beings History too
Kirk Lightsey ! Un pianiste que je ne connaissais pas ...mais quelle impro, quand on connaît les accords de ce morceau, on est ébloui par tant d'inventivité sans dénaturer l'esprit de cette merveilleuse composition
His playing is good here, but to really hear him play this song, you must hear the orchestral version Dextet did with Palle Mikelbourg (?sp) on the Inner City album titled "More Than You Know".
So glad I got to see him at Avery Fischer Hall in NYC in '76, with Sonny Stitt, Bobby Hutcherson and Lionel Hampton (!), the Heath Bros., Woody Shaw and others, a tribute concert after his return from Denmark.
Sostenido.
THANK YOU
