Although I'm more of a nature photographer - I love to get out with the camera in my local forest simply to soak up the environment around me - if I get a good photo or two it's been a great morning out in the fresh air. It's still great to be out there taking in my surroundings even if I come home with zero photos worth editing and posting. Keep up the great videos please. 🙂
Some excellent points made Martin. Too many photographers complain about conditions or only shoot in the golden hour. I’m with you that the benefits of getting out with the camera in any conditions far outweighs doing nothing at all!
Thanks Anthony, completely agree with you, don't get me wrong I love the golden hour and perfect conditions, but there is always something to shoot, but even when struggling it's just great to be out
It's always great to discover new woodland areas for photography, especially with gnarly oak trees and birches. The starburst image with trees is a stunning and captivating shot. Great vlog, mate.
You hit on the exact reason I love photography here mate "Just to get out and clear your head" nice new location for you to mull over with better conditions 👍
Nice one Martin. That location certainly needs atmosphere to enable a compelling image. I was telling Steve a few weeks back I shot those trees a couple of years ago in the same conditions you had just for reference but had since forgotten about them. At least you managed to get out and give it a go mate, perhaps we might be lucky in a few weeks time.
enjoyable video Martin, considering the conditions you had but still managed to get some excellent images, I love photographing trees but do struggle to compose them, I agree that location with some mist would be amazing, your first image was a simple image but you composed it brilliantly with the large stone in the foreground really made it for me, great job mate.
Hi Martin I love the Longshaw Estate and I feel it's definitely overlooked by the more popular (but busier) Padley Gorge. It's a huge estate and definitely has a lot of potential especially when foggy which it is sometimes even when Padley isn't. I also find getting out with my camera, whether it's in a group or on my own, a fantastic aid regarding mental health. I too have had a rough few weeks at work so have enjoyed the recent trip to Lewis and Harris and obviously really looking forward to the meet up this weekend. I assume we may visit the estate at some point
Was great to finally meet this weekend mate, really enjoyed it! Longshaw is definitely not as well photographed as Padley, hopefully it remains that way 🤣 but you're right photography is a great reset for the mind, especially after a rough few weeks at work. Always wanted to visit Harris and Lewis, it looks incredible.
A BIG thank you to your wife for sending you out otherwise I wouldn't have had a video to watch this morning. 😁👍
Haha, thanks Phil, I've passed your thanks on, glad you enjoyed it.

Thanks so much, being out in the woodland has to be some sort of therapy, always feel my mood is better afterwards. Glad you enjoyed it.

It's all about being out there. I would say an extremely productive scouting outing. I think the oak tree shots are great!
You're absolutely right, so good to just be out there, thanks so much for watching.

It's great to explore new areas, really does give the inspiration a kick in the butt, glad you enjoyed it Paul, thank you for watching

Thanks mate, it's a great location but does need the right conditions, fingers crossed for the meet up
Nice to see you out and about mate
Thanks mate, hope you are well?
I totally agree with you being out in nature and enjoying it. The second image you took was absolutely stunning!
Thanks so much Trish, glad you enjoyed it!
Just back from a weeks holiday and catching up with YT videos. Another really good one Martin. Glad you got yourself out and shared it 👍
Thanks Garry, looks like you had a great time in Iceland!
Amazing mate but challenging conditions! Every sunrise and sunset apart from 1 was a blizzard! Will deffo be going back when I can afford it again.

Thank you Martin, glad you enjoyed it, hopefully even better when I return in the right conditions.

Really enjoyed the weekend. Thank you for making me feel very welcome ☺ If you do ever get to Lewis and Harris you definitely need a week on there
Really enjoyed having you there mate
Cracking shot about 7.20 👏 👏 👏
Thanks so much!
Great video. Dont think they sucked 😅👍👌
Too kind 🤣 thanks so much
Gutted, you drove all that way and didn’t photograph the cascading stream in the woodland, criminal 😉😁
Ohh, wasn't aware of the stream through the woodland? 😮 Or do you mean the one I jumped over? Wasn't very photogenic when I looked.
