    So when are these guys @ ESPN going to apologize for how they talked about Matt Araiza when these false accusations came out? Especially Michael Irvin. He should be the most ashamed. Cause he has had women make false charges on him before & after this incident. He should have had the courage to be brave enough to make sure no one came to a quick judgement.

    Guilty until proven innocent?
    If this is the standard to fire a person before due process, then I’m one day away from being fired at any time. You don’t have to prove anything, you can go get me fired at any second of the day.
    Suspension until we fulfill due process, maybe, but he’s done. His career is over. No one is going to pick him up. Guilty or innocent, he’s done.

    Well, the slander of the Ravens drafting Jordan Stout over Araiza is history.

    • @user-xf1bd7eh6f
      @user-xf1bd7eh6f ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Ironically, I think you can make an argument that Stout was the better choice even just mechanically. Araizas raw power is impressive, but his finesse is lacking. People who take him may be banking on the idea that finesse can be taught, but sometimes finesse cannot be taught. The only category of punting where Araiza out-performed Stout was in pure distance kicked. As a Bills fan, I actually was pulling for Stout as our punter.

      On the other hand...One could also see where an organization has to be somewhat objective and fair based on the information they have at a given time. "Hearing" about a situation TEN MONTHS ago, and the University makes no statement, the police make no criminal charges, and no civil case was put forth (until last Thursday)? Lots of questions there, a delicate balance by the Bills. Then there is Araiza's own statements to the Bills after hearing from the alleged victim's lawyer- at a time when there was still no civil case. You basically have a he said-she said situation. The civil case being filed, gave the Bills the juice they needed to terminate the bad hombre. Great job Bills. And if any other organization in the NFL had facts (not just basically rumors at that point), in the case- well shame on them for not sharing with the Roger Goodell!

    If you set the precedent that remove someone who is accused it presents a bunch of other issues. It may work if the individual is guilty but what if he isn't? Someone could make an accusation against a teams top player around Super Bowl just to have him removed from the game especially since rarely are there any punishments for fake accusations. Personal responsibility has to factor in these type of cases in the future for both the accused as well as the accuser

I was just stating that actions taken should require more than just a accusation. Obviously they don’t care about justice and only do what they do to appease the most powerful court that ever existed that of public opinions. In general in different careers people are removed from labels loose sponsors and much more day one of an accusation. Media knows they would be destroyed if they so much as hint that any accusation may not be true so they attack the accused. This is all part of a pendulum swing where in the past no woman was believed even with proof to now everyone is believed regardless of proof.
