Sadly Minnesota hasn't won Paul Bunyan's axe since 2003 and Wisconsin currently has a 14 game winning streak against Minnesota. That triggers me as a golden gopher fan. On the positive side, we have PJ Fleck and a good college hockey team to make for the football struggles.

In case you didn't know, a lot that was said about Paterno here is wrong or, at least, misrepresented. Prior to the Sandusky scandal, reporters a press conferences kept asking him when he would retire or if he'd coach until he died. He said he'd keep on coaching because its what he enjoyed doing and the school wanted him there. It was not said despite the scandal. Instead, after the scandal, Penn State told him they wanted him to leave, he asked if he could finish the season and leave after it, they said no and fired him.
As far as everything else that's said about him by the general public, there's a lot of misinformation because of the media attention that was brought here before the investigations were done. ESPN stepped way out of bounds in their story coverage, making emotional accusations and statements that aren't even founded today. In the end, Paterno was a scapegoat, the only person that the school could punish and they did.
If you still think Paterno is a terrible person, take some time and investigate his character. The things he did for the school off the football field are major reasons why Penn State is such a respected academic institution. If all you know is what ESPN reported, it's hard to separate that and start a new opinion, but doing so shows who Joe Paterno really was.

@Matt James Not quite because record isn't everything, especially since the badgers played in an extra game (that Minnesota choked away because they lost to UW) and also played a better team in a bigger bowl. Either way losing the axe is still losing the axe and that's what really matters in the rivalry.
