Another great video! Definitely had problem with dead algae blow back into water. Vacuum to waste is so messy and time consuming. So smart to use skimmer sock. Will try on next clean up. Thank you!!
Great vid and skimmer sock suggestion. May I offer you a "simple life hack" for the "I wish it was weighted so it stays at the bottom of the pool easier". Go to a fish and tackle store, get sinker weights, they sell a LARGE variety of shapes and sizes and add about 3lbs on the top of the base (it's less than you think) with "waterproof double sided tape", and VOILA, you have a vacuum you no longer have to PUSH to get to the bottom, it'll sink for you. OR, you can get an wall attachment for a mop/broom, that is the "click in" type wall mount, looks like a large rubber letter C... adhere it to the top of the base plate, and take any simple light weight (small) 3-5lbs dumbbell (it'll click into the mop/broom holder) and use it only when your vacuuming. Whenever manufactures make products they always try to make them "light" as possible, for manufacturing, shipping and costs. "lighter" is "cheaper". So simply add a weight to the top of the base plate.
Thank you for posting this tip! Going to order this asap and try. Using the traditional long, HEAVY vacuum hose via the pump is a lot of work during Texas summers 😧😧and I'm just sssooooo over it at this point with constant algae.

I was going to buy a new pool vacuum because mine wasn't picking up the algae. Instead, I bought the skimmer socks you recommeded. Thank you so much!

what a smart way! I will try this before vacuum to waste!
where do you get the pool socks
hows the vacuum holding up?
Can I use the vacuum for an inground pool
a basket won't hold algae
The basket by itself won't but the skimmer socks will catch a lot of it.
