Very beautiful. :o Regarding the 12-bit prores raw: I contacted Atomos about which SSDs are compatible for this codec, and they said that as long as they write above 500mb/s, then that will be OK. The employee also recommended the SSD to be at least 1TB - I think because the higher the storage for an SSD the faster write speed capabilities it has.
Z Cam firmware update is actually really good. Especially for playback, raw recording, noise reduction, and I'll let you finish... but those Nikes were fresh
Hi, Thanks for the great video. Quick question. Can I connect to LANC control port on ZCAM E2-M4 or E2-S6 instead of USB-C ? ie. LANC on Ninja V to LANC on E2 camera. Keeping USB-C free is useful to record with SSD disks directly.

Amazing camera, powerful partnership Atomos/Zcam. Hey man, I have a question, Is it worth to buy the Zcam f6 over the M4 given all these features the M4 has? If it is, would you make a video talking about it? I am torn trying to decide which one to purchase. I love full-frame, but with focal reducers available and the high frames the M4 is capable of doing, I am not sure full-frame holds any value over the M43 sensor of the M4. Thanks for the feedback and watching Hector! I am producing a huge video breaking down all of the Z CAM flagship series but it is a lot of work but hopefully, it's out soon! However, I will try to summarise here. There is still a reason to pick up the S6 & F6 over the M4. The image will be nicer out of the S6 & F6 than the M4, but that's not to say the M4 image is bad, for the price it's awesome. The F6 has the most DR, is most sensitive, has great frame rate options, if you have the extra cash it's a pretty big upgrade from the M4. The S6 is a nice middle ground and you will get good FOV's with a speedbooster.
I have heard some ppl talking about ALOT of noise when shooting indoors because it is so hard to overexpose. Can you elaborate on that? I am really on the verge of getting an M4... after seeing ZRAW is possible up to 60 fps (even with the freakin suite..which i dont understand but who does) i am mostly convinced..
Hello, is the sensor from the M4 closer to the GH5 or GH5s? i have the pocket 4k and G9. I like both but i noticed how much of a difference the bigger Pocket sensor makes, even with bokeh while using the same lens.

Thanks for watching! Yes you can record any of the internal codecs externally to a USB-C SSD across all of the cameras and that means ZRAW & ProRes! The T5 isn't recommended by Z CAM but the Sandisk Extreme Pro is! If you have any other questions let me know! Jake
The camera can not do Prores Raw encoding itself, so no recording to card or external ssd. You will need an Atomos Ninja V with the newly released 10.5 firmware as well.
I know that you answered a similar question below, but wondering if you could provide a little more information. I am looking into the M4 or s6. I am not sure which one to go with. I like the s6 due to the super 35 and extra stop of DR, but I like the 240fps in the m4 (I shoot slow motion table top stuff here and there). Thank you for the help!
Hey Caleb! I think you'll be happy with either but the S6 is a step up in image quality over the M4, I guess it depends whats more important the overall image quality upgrade of the S6 or the higher frame rates of the M4. Any other questions let me know! Jake

3:32, here you see the ProRes RAW is not really raw, it's just a OPTIMIZED PRORES since you don't have control over your metadata Like the propular BRAW OR RED RAW. I'm stronger believer that the future of cinema codec for the independent community is BRAW, whether you like their cameras or not.
There's nothing wrong with preferring BRAW, you don't have to justify it with incorrect claims about the alternatives. Metadata doesn't make something Raw or not, the only thing that matters is how the sensor data is encoded.
@@CVPTV It's finally out and trying it for the first time, but one thing I noticed was ninja's waveform appear to clip at 80 for highlights instead going up to 100. Is that what you see as well?
The Z CAM guys haven't said anything about it. I would go on their Facebook group and ask for it to be implemented. The more people ask for it the more likely they are to probably add it!!
We use Windows so FCPX is out of the question & we also use Resolve when colouring most of our in depth pieces and shorts. The point of this showcase was to show off PRR which isn't compatible with Resolve, so had to be PP. We would love to have the time to get to the same point of familiarity with Resolve to use it as an NLE but that will take time as both myself and Joe have been using PP & other fantastically integrated programs to edit for years! Trust me I seriously hate Premiere but for our current workflow it's a necessary evil haha
of course, if your client is able to tell the difference. than they also are able to pay twice the cost. i can understand you're still starting that's why you can't appreciate it. i shot on canon m50, eos r and rent the c200 for serious client work. and it's not only 5% better. but the flexibility on shooting harsher condition and being able to shoot without worrying overheating gear is worth the extra money. i sure one day you will understand too once you get better

I hate external recorders I stand by what I said, they are not worth the time, money, and hassle for the improvement in quality. In reality in a profesional production environment they cost you more time and money than if you had of just spent your resources on a camera that can do raw internally as apposed to a makeshift solution with an external recorder.

You can use Thunderbolt 3 as a network technology. Soon we will have Thunderbolt 4 (which is going to be integrated also as USB4.0)

Why compare the E2/M4 to the S1H? Compare the F6/8 to the S1H.
Because he’s done the f6 as well. I 100% agree they’re completely different classes, but when it comes to image, sometimes you can’t always tell.

@@CVPTV Why not use EDIUS. It can edit ProRes RAW and BRAW as well as output ProRes legally.
