@@valentdsThey aren’t black goo though. They don’t deform in their attacks like Eddie does, and though it’s obviously dark, their bodies also have details drawn as well
Xrd mostly tried to simply replicate X/XX 2D animations with their style to remind everyone of how it was and put more confidence in their animation style. Now, in Strive, we can actually see them develop a new art style and be able to show off character development through subtle changes in animations and redesigns, which is much appreciated! Things like Narwhal instead of Jaws Monster for tail attack, or her performing the moves alongside Undine rather than just letting her own wings control her power show so much character development since her XX days and its just amazing to witness. I can see why she was so hard to animate and took so long to develop - it is phenomenal. Plus, the queenly attire she dons is gorgeous, and facial animations are top-notch, too.
0:54 I _do_ like Dizzy taking charge in the Dust animation and fighting in tandem with Undine and Necro, graduating from being yanked along by their lead instead, _tho it remains funny_ XD
You can see even in xrd necro and undone were taking control and using her. Still distracting her during attacks and dragging her along while she begs them to stop. The transformation is amazing now. And I like the color change. It’s not longer good and evil. They’re both good now, though necro looks creepier than ever.
Necro looks like Eddie with a white robe on We used to have the cool reaper guy on one side and celestial/angel on the other. It's a shame they became black slimes wearing white robes now.
To me it feels that since Dizzy has finally accepted and become comfortable with her power, Necro and Undine are now one with her and thats reflected in the way they look.

ggst is my first guilty gear game and I feel I can already put Dizzy on my list of characters that are gonna confuse the shit out of me when fighting against her.
New Dizzy is fine, but Xrd was PERFECT. Wish they didn't go all the way to redesign her. Her heavy metal vibes are gone and the whole Disney Princess thing, IDK if I'll get completely get used to it. And yes, I know she's a queen now, etc. But still. A little too much change for my taste. Would like to see all Strive Dizzy concept art, especially the discarded ones.

It's kind of incredible how much better Xrd looks in its color theory, stage design, and mood/feel of its UI. I've accepted that some of the changed character designs aren't bad, but man it's so depressing to see Guilty Gear become so sterilized and stripped down compared to it's chains and flames aesthetic that set it apart from other games.

I agree on the UI take, strive's menus look like they are out of a shitty mobile game. Everything else about it looks miles better than Xrd including stage lighting, character design, sfx and animation
I strongly prefer new design because it is more elegant, unique and memorable. tbh, old Dizzy always felt like someone's "do not steel" design. Besides, Ram looks like old Dizzy with a lot of skin and "wings". Also I already see how it is easier to cosplay. The only downside is it is not that in-your-face-BDSM sexy, but I think GG is sexy enough.
Honestly new design is way less unique to me. Her wings disappear during her walk animation. Show that to me and I would have a hard time telling you that’s dizzy. Almost all of her unique elements are other gone or toned down. I don’t really know how you can say she’s more unique than her old design. There really isn’t anyone who looks like old dizzy.
@@ciontachthecthonicchampion3576 I mean, when we first met her in the park in GG X, she was wingless and in a casual blank dress. I bet the new look is inspired by this.
XRd Dizzy is way better, the design looks original as always. in Strive looks average just like another anime waitress , not to mention her theme music sucks. from a graphics tech point of view both look great.
I miss Undine and Necro having unique designs and palettes. Also her twintails were cute. It’s not a bad design, it’s just kinda a bummer, like if we got Sol without the headband and red leather. Edit: Also One Dawn is gonna remain her best theme, I’m confident in that. It’s completely perfect.
