Great video you 2! The fire ball comment made me laugh as we have experienced it as well. Funny story also as my Dad and I where up your way and we met Ben and his group and got the pleasure of fishing with them a few years ago. What a great bunch and the days were filled with many laughs and stories. The hand line takes me back in the day as well and what a struggle we had as well. I will be showing this to my Dad and he will smile as he still uses it often. I believe his are made from hockey sticks as the stick breaking happened more often than not. 🙂
Careful there Mac happy new year to you too!!! long time No hear. planning to come up there and do some bourbot fishing. You have to show me some good spots this coming from sleepy SnoBear.!!!!!!!!!!
Funny stuff Mac. Fireball fireball!! I’m from Maine and 99% run the Jack Traps. I prefer rod/reel unless going for brookies that get caught right in shore in 2’-6’ then I use the tip ups. Can’t imagine hand lining monster togue/pike of northern Manitoba
Coincidentally had same.experience this past weekend with a one.pounder! Threw it outside as well...lol. Usually.always use hose and 20 pounder. No issues like you had...dam
Of topic a bit but was just watching the sled to set up. What are your thoughts on next ice fishing sled since Artic Cat closing shop???? No more Bearcats??
Good stuff mac, keep rippin em man 🤘 down here in the u.p. of michigan, I've used handlines for lakers, call em gebbos or fish sticks. Definitely a different feel lol those tipups look kinda legit tho, might hafta try one. And don't worry about breaking the stick, it obviously couldn't handle a Mac attack 😂
Use that lots for Lakers in the apostle Islands in WI most call it bobbing here but use wire line due to heavy currents and deep water up to 300 foot depths.
Look forward to checking it out up there! Another great video bud 👍
Haha you will love it dude!
Great to see the cabin tour, i think thats the one we have booked for end of the month. Cant wait to get up there.
Another great video! Thanks Mac!❤️🎣
Thanks for watching! I appreciate ya!
The moment the stick broke😂😂 that was a comical video. Great job again!!
That stick wasn't gonna last forever, haha! I figured going it it would break!

It's amazing how the traditions of hand-lining carry on through generations. Soo neat!
I do believe that was our first year at bakers narrows in 2019! how have things been buddy?!
“Epic suckage” you’re always shooting out funny one liners lmao awesome video
Haha thats a classic one!
awesome content keep up the hard work
Glad you liked it, more to come! Appreciate the support !
Have a buddy, who'll only use a soft rosewood branch/spool of line/piece of electrical tape, to fish for lakers. Great day out, thanks for sharing!!
Thats definitely primitive!
👏🙏

I was wondering when someone would call me out on the Fireball 😂 yes I definitely prefer a rod forsure with the bigger fish!
Mainly for lunch 😂
Hahaha 😆 😂
I love Jack traps and there shop in monmouth maine is so cool as I live only a couple hours away and have been using them for years now
That's so awesome definitely high end stuff
Maine made Jack traps!! Heck yeah!
@@IceFishingMaine heck yea awesome product
We frequently use "bobbing hoops" for lake trout in mn. When you use braid there's no real need for a trad rod&reel for smaller fish under 10lbs
I definitely want to try the bobbin for trout at somepoint!!
We want to hear more from the wife!
I'll mic her up next time
