Its kind of what I love about DT. Like in a show where basically every villain is complex and rather grey with some form of redemption arc, DT remains their best self-interested chaotic evil self and their sole redeeming quality is just their highly entertaining personality.

11:55 This is funnier to me, a fellow theater kid, because in order to cry on cue you usually try to feel the pain the character is feeling, using empathy.
When they say they can't do it, they mean that empathy doesn't work for them. Which is even more in character.

from how its animated it looks like their base form (and a lot of the disguises) have an extra set of eyelids kinda like a lot of animals have (best name for it i could find is the "nictitating membrane") but in irl animals its usually one that goes the whole way across rather than two the meet in the middle like DT
in a cool bit of possibly (but probably not) intentional world building, having an extra set of more moist eyelids would be helpful in a very dry and dusty environment like the crimson wastes, to keep dust out of the eyes and stop them drying out. so i could very easly imagine DT getting used to having them in their base form and given how easy they are to hide (cats and dogs have them and most people dont notice) it could be somewhat of a creature comfort for DT to always hold on to them. however it is also extremely in character for DT to just do it to creep people out

I would still like it if the live action version was a mix of ethnicities. But it still followed the 80’s plot. I need adora and Adam as twins. Keep the bad guys bad. Not every villain needs redeeming.
The first time I watched Perils of Peekablue, I was thinking "Huh, wonder what happened to DT. We haven't seen them in a while. Are they possessed or what?" And then Peekablue came on screen and i said "Ah. that'll be them. Too late in the series to introduce a new character." That was the most accurate prediction i'd ever had.

Not nonbinary myself, but something about them just... clicked in my head and I just knew they were. My bro and I watched this together so my first instinct was to tell him. he was skeptical until the pronouns first dropped and we had to pause the show for me to basically celebrate cuz I was so happy, "but i was also playing it up a little cuz that's just how siblings do). Nevertheless, I was happy to see them as, well, them, and them being so gosh-darn fun to watch.

I feel like Scorpia's sacrifice really helped DT see that people can do things for others without wanting something in return. They actually look concerned and in awe that Scorpia stays back to protect them. I like to think that's why they helped fight off some of the clones at the very end. What I love about what they did with double trouble is keep the voice actors with the character they are with, example if double trouble turns into Catra, they use Catra’s voice actor to talk as double trouble talking as Catra and I love it.
Okay,they transform physically and act as other people emotionally but they also had to learn other people's fighting styles-
That's dedication to the art. They could use their learning capabilities to become even stronger than She-Ra but they reduce it to what they need to get in character.
They still didn't mimick catra's fighting style well, catra is much more cautious when charging into battle and uses the surroundings as support, DT was a lot more aggressive and reckless
But they still managed to fool Adora, who had grown up with Catra for almost all of her life at that point, so either way, she bought it and DT worked it well
@@biashacker3218 Yeah, I think we saw the difference in that, when the real Catra fought against the lizard with a whip. They looked over at the area of quick sand before having their opponent charge at them. They didn't immediately charge on the offensive at the person with a whip like Double Trouble might have done.

As much as I don't like some of the redesigns, Double Trouble has to be my absolute favorite in terms of design and personality. They absolutely carry the show for whatever scene they're in. Especially when they call out Catra's toxicity. Best character 10/10 and the person that voices them is absolutely amazing!
Not wanting to start a discussion, just out of curiosity, which redesigns did you not like? Because I personally always thought that when the reboot does one thing right, then its to make all the characters look more unique than their original version.
