    Having now watched you make loads and loads of Demascus by now as it's 6 years later this is a simpler pattern on the Demascus but honestly it's one of my favourites I've seen out of the lot. Looks simple, clear, clean and really suits these smaller projects.

    Alec.... nice work! Couple bits of advice.... when tapping in the mill, insert the tap in the drill chuck locating on the diameter of the tap ( not the square end) put the spindle in neutral, apply small amount of downward pressure and turn the drill chuck by hand, remember to " break the Chip" by reversing direction often....this will keep the Tap straighter! Threading on the lathe with a Die & Die Holder, use the tailstock Quill without anything in it, put small amount of pressure against the Die and as you thread extend the Quill so that it keeps the Die square to the part you are threading! Break the chip often, saves the Die, and cuts the thread better! Be sure to clean the chips out of the Quill so the next time you insert a tool you won't damage either the tool or the Quill! Thought I would send you some tips! Mr Musk - Kievesky Forge

    Beautiful spurs Alec and what an awesome project. Just an FYI, all traditional spurs I've seen are in a star-shape so they dig into the horse so it will start galloping. Also, what were you using to polish the steel after the acid dip? Keep up the great work.

  • @glennwiebe5128
    @glennwiebe5128 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Really well done! To complete them you need someone with leather working skills to match your blacksmithing. There is a small niche market for spurs where cowboys/girls take their equipment very seriously. With the right straps, you've scored! Keep forging!
