Our family can devour a tater tot casserole so quickly! It's a crowd-pleasing comfort food and today I'm brining you 4 different recipes for tater tot casserole.

BACON CHEESEBURGER TATER TOT CASSEROLE
6 slices bacon
1 1/2lb lean ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
1/2 cup ketchup
2 tbsp yellow mustard
2 tbsp dill pickle relish
1/2 tsp Montreal steak grill seasoning
1/4 tsp pepper
6 ounce American cheese loaf, shredded
4 cups frozen potato nuggets
1 Heat oven to 400 F. Spray 2 quart casserole with cooking spray. In 12-inch skillet, cook bacon over medium high heat 5 to 7 mins or until crisp; drain on paper towels. Crumble bacon, set aside.
2. In same skillet, cook beef and onion over medium high heat 5 to 7 mins, stirring occasionally until beef is thoroughly cooked, drain. Stir in ketchup, mustard, dill pickle relish, grill seasoning, pepper 1/2 cup of the cheese. Spoon into casserole dish. Top with potato nuggets.
3. Bake, uncovered 25 minutes or until bubbly around edged and potatoes are golden brown. Sprinkle with remaining 3/4 cup cheese and the reserved crumbled bacon. Bake 5 minutes longer or until cheese is melted.

We use tater tots as a crust for egg dishes, just microwave them to make them soft and squish them flat. Great in muffin pan for baked eggs or in a large skillet for frittata.
I waffle mine and top with fried eggs. Cooking the tots in a waffle maker gives you a larger crispy surface, but the still have some fluffy to them, too

Mandy? You are such a little doll. I have been following you forever. Hi, Steve! My granddaughter is going to the kitchen as I type and making the tot casserole. She is learning about all things kitchen before she heads off to college later in the summer. We love Gracie as we have 8 cats . . don't ask, a long story and they all love hand outs in the kitchen. We need to get you over your fear of baking, girl. I have a fresh strawberry pie recipe from my Mom ( who is no longer here ) that is soooo easy and sooooo very good. Have to have fresh strawberries and about a quart of fresh whipping cream. You guys will think they are in heaven with this pie. Peace, sweetie and keep up the great work. You have helped me spend many an hour entertained and not worrying about things . . . .
Hooray, I currently have an 80 pound Golden Retriever laying on me shaking because of the thunder, this makes that scenario much better. 😊
Here’s a tip. Pre bake your tots most tater tot casseroles don’t do that and the tots never get crispy.

I love tater tots and can eat them with/on top of anything! These all look great! I do have one issue. I personally don't like music playing on these videos and I found that often during this one, your voice was fighting with the music and no one was winning :(
Love the recipes. Personally, I like to cook the tater tots separate from the other ingredients. I like my tots golden brown and crunchy. I just sprinkle them on at the table.

We did the Buffalo Cheeseburger Tater Tot Casserole. Except we "Mandyized it" didn't have any buffalo sauce so we used Stubb's Original BBQ sauce. So you could say it was a BBQ Cheeseburger Tater Tot casserole. I never would have thought to sub something else until we started watching you, you're an inspiration.
I created a recipe of my own for Tater Tot casserole, I will have to email it to you. My super picky eater loves it!!
At almost 63 years old I have never had a tater-tots! I think I have to give them a go pretty darn soon. I am going to try the bacon cheeseburger one on my next shopping trip. Thank you.

That sounds good! If you like Big Mac flavored dishes google the recipe for Big Mac salad. It is delicious! One of the channels may have posted it I can’t remember but I know the recipe is floating around the internet and it’s really good. I didn’t know how ground beef would be on a salad but I was pleasantly surprised!

Lots of great ideas - things to put in a casserole with tater tots I would not have thought of. Even inspired me to wonder if you could do something like ground turkey, turkey gravy and sweet potato tots - they make those, don't they? That with some cranberry sauce and a veggie on the side.
I love tater tots! I think I would like the "best" casserole more. Anything that has cream of mushroom, and I like adding the green beans and corn.

I love seeing Gracie. She's a beauty! 😘 She reminds me so much of my Bella who passed in 2018 but I still miss her very much. Bella loved cheese (bacon, too) and looked similar to Gracie (same color and pattern) except with shorter fur. Gracie is fluffier than Bella was.
My MiL made one with cream of chicken soup and cream of celery soup, 2 lbs of meat and diced onions. It still one of my favorite comfort foods.
I made the buffalo cheeseburger tot casserole tonight..the minute my husband heard buffalo in hamburger meat..he wasn't that excited..i said don't knock it until you try it! Still wasn't a hit with him but it was for me..thank you for the recipes..I never thought of different ways to make tot casserole!
The bacon cheeseburger casserole looked like the best one to me. Of course neither of us eat spicy food. But I have learned to adjust spicy recipes to suit us. We love cheeseburgers so that will be the first I try! Thanks Mandy 🍔🥔

My son's favorite has 3 ingredients. Chicken breast cut into bite size pieces, enough ranch dressing to generously coat the chicken and tater tots covering the top. 350° for an hour +.
Simple TT recipe for midnight snack: TT in oven, in a pan green, red peppers and onion, jalapeno pepper fry. Mix in Chili con queso and TT serve in a bowl and drizzle with favorite hot sauce. Enjoy.

"Sloppy tots" are my favorite! I keep it super simple though with just the meat/sauce and some white cheese sauce to top them. Not really a casserole, but still delicious!
I do a version of The Best Tater Tot Casserole and make it more like a green bean casserole tater tot bake by adding following the directions you have but add about a teaspoon of soy sauce into the beef mixture and a handful of the French fried onions. Then layer the green beans on top, add some more of the French fried onions, cheese then the tots and follow the rest of the directions. YUM!
OMG!! I just found your channel and immediately felt a connection. The way you cook seems familiar and like family. We tried the bacon cheeseburger and wow.... Thought it was a bit of hyperbole when he said it tasted just like a burger, but WOW! I do all the cooking, but Friday. The wife gives me a break, so she tried this. She saw me watching the video and said I can do that and did she ever.. great job guys, keep it up.

when I making a TTC I like to prebake the tots and if they are going under or in the main filling then I make them Xcrispy.. Like you said there are SOOOOOOO many ways you can add tots to a casserole, from basic ground beef to five alarm chili, bbq chicken, crack chicken, pulled pork w/bbq beans, ropa veja (beef braised until it falls apart when you look at it)

I usually spray the top of the tater tots with pan spray which helps them get crispy and brown

I love the one for the best tater tot casserole. My aunt makes one similar to this. She makes green bean casserole and adds cooked ground beef and tops with the tots and cheese. She is in her eighties and she’s a hoot! She says “its green bean casserole meets hamburger helper!”
Oh my we love tater tot casserole...ANY KIND and I am sure I will try all of these. As for the "Best Tater Tot Casserole" I made that one years ago and I have since mixed the soup and the green beans and corn all together and put it in the casserole dish and then top with cheese and Tots. It made a HUGE difference! It is one of our FAVES!!

I put the soup in with the meat. I put a layer of tater tots on the bottom then the meat mixture then layer the tater tots.
Mandy I was in Walmart today and thought of you. You always talk about using Duke's Mayonnaise I'm from Ohio and Dukes just come into the area in the last year so I grew up using Hellman's. However looking at the Dukes in the squeeze bottle here today they had a habanero garlic and seeing how you all can never get enough garlic and you like things on the spicy side I thought wow sounds like something they would love!!!! ❤

The buffalo whatever it was called will be right up my alley. Can’t wait to try it. Also if it taste like chili Rotel makes a chili fixens version and it is great I put it in my chili. When you open it it smells just like a pot of chili it is seasoned very good. I bet it would be great in it if it already has a chili flavor. Sometimes it’s hard to find but Walmart carries it and sometimes Publix if you have one of those.
