    This is so good for Owen. He is playing outside the coming superstar 9, Le Garrec, with Kalisi and so many top players. Even more, he is in the web of Lancaster. Can’t wait for Faz 2..0. Can you imagine the two Wiganers, GOD (Edwards) and Faz jr speaking French together? The world is not ready for that.

    GBR is the dominant scrum of podcasts 👍 I wish Owen Farrell all the best after giving his all to Sarries and England. As a Sarries fan I’m sad to see him go, but he’s been amazing for years and he deserves huge success. As for Sarries I’d like to see Marnie Libbock replace him, a good international player that Mark Mcall could turn into a great one. Let’s hope all the Faz haters can finally be silent now and then forgotten. Faz was and is a world class player.

    Barring any injuries a stint at racing should mold him into his "final form". International 10's mature in their mid 30's. Playing in the top 14 against such varied opposition should really see him reach his full potential.

    • @JTAIT-b7g
      @JTAIT-b7g 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      You might want your 10's to be maturing a little earlier than mid 30's as thats generally when they retire.

    • @wanderer5598
      @wanderer5598 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@JTAIT-b7g Hardly. Look at Sexton 38 or Carter 35. If you can make it to that age bracket without injury you have a tactical knowledge advantage due to experience. There's a reason guys are still playing test rugby in that position well into their 30's. You really should learn more about the game mate.

    • @JTAIT-b7g
      @JTAIT-b7g 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@wanderer5598 Sexton was a dinosaur at the RWC at least 2 years past his prime, hardly any 10's are still playing international rugby at his age let alone being anywhere near their prime. Gutted to see him go as a Saracens fan, but no complaints about him going - he deserves a move like this. I still don't think you should write him off playing for Saracens/England again - he's signed a 2 year contract which leaves open him returning for a Last Dance at 34/35 yrs old - Sexton played until 37.

It's one thing getting endless abuse from SA fans (even when their heroic captain constantly says what a great guy Farrell is) but the garbage and endless abuse from England fans is hard to understand. The prawn sandwich brigade who never rose above the ranks of their school 2nd XV always bang on about "he can't tackle, he's arrogant" etc but the truth is they've pushed one of the best players of his generation into turning his back on England. Best wishes to Owen and family. From what I have seen you had unjust criticism to someone that served England so well.
    I have lived and worked in France for more than ten years so here is my advice. If you drive forget roundabout etiquette. Embrace the food and culture it is what the French do best. However if you are like me take a load of Patak's sauces and dark chocolate biscuits and your preferred tea bags. Your kids will be well educated as is most of the French population. Learn the language or at least attempt because hey it's worth it and it gives you a new skill. I wear an English red rose (sorry fellow Yorkies) on my back when I am in the factory where I work in Toulouse and it creates such a friendly banter very much like working in Blighty where you can be critical and friendly in the same breath

    Great, maybe Farrell can come back to proper international form and then get selected on Merritt and form not historic leadership capability. Given up listening to these guys as Haskell only sees his playing experience, ie jones was great and shouldn’t have been questioned because he was loyal to Haskell. Great very useful.
    Of course, it should be very developmental for Farrell. He will be taking himself out of his comfort zone and therefore pushing himself to levels he has not been to before.

      Yeah, I do think that's the constant stick and scrutiny made him want to join Racing, but I think the fact he was joining Racing was more of a factor of him not wanting to play in the 6N. He knew all the talk would have been about him possibly playing his last 6N, and the game vs France would have been overload.
      To be clear, I don't think that means he handled it badly etc. I just think he realised the whole of the 6N would have been constant talk about his move, and unless England won the tournament constant criticism and calls for Smith to play.

    I've nothing against OF at all. I always thought he came across as an alright bloke in his interviews and couldn't understand the negativity toward him personally. However, as a 10 I think his moment has passed. He had a period playing for England where he did a good enough job but he's hardly an 'electric' fly half or even that creative. After the 2019 world cup he went right off the boil and his last couple of games for Saracens have been error-strewn at best. We all ride a wave at times but that wave eventually hits the beach and the ride is over. Good luck to him at Racing, hope he makes a fortune and enjoys it but I can't see his style gelling with the French way of doing things. And, with all the respect in the world, I hope we never see him again in an England shirt. Time to look forward...

    Saracens the cheats. He was only kept at Saracens with the cheating money. It meant that Saracens never developed a proper buisness model or club fandom, developed a £40.8 million debt and the league is still unwinding from the issues. It meant we had to watch games that were silly stacked and other teams had their players poached. Ashton, Wigglesworth, Hodgson, Daly, etc where all poached with cheating money to surround him. Meanwhile the horrid atmosphere on the pitch was dreadful, often coming from Farrell. Because he has never been at a community club he never developed a rapport with fans which spilled over to England. Borthwick says now that things have to change with England meeting fans expectations - Farrell going is the best chance of that happening. Goodbye and good riddance. As for the future of Saracens, first they need to pay back their debts from proper commercial activities before they go bust, not cream off the profits from those activities as some sort of extra payments to players. Second develop a fly half from their academy!

      Ok Karen. Have another cry and put on your big boy pants and move on like everyone else has ffs. I love it when people like you bring up the Saracens cap like it is a unique situation that hasn’t happened to most clubs at some point . Nor are Sarries responsible for the problems in the current league, what a stupid thing to suggest , yes they have brought players from other clubs just like every other rugby club does .
      They also have one of the most successful academies in Europe . Sarries is a community club , if you go there you will see the level of engagement they have with the local community as well as how much he is loved by the Sarries fans .
      All clubs have debt and Sarries are managing theirs more successfully than most.
      I get you don’t like Sarries or Farrell and that’s fine. Don’t go there, no one is going to miss you .
      Interested at your lack of knowledge about how debt is managed and how it is repaid. I’m guessing that you are not interested in the management of debt in other clubs and how players all clubs pay for their players.
      I’m pleased for Farrell going to 92 and he won’t have to put up with bs from people like you.

    Farrell is a good old Irish name and his uncle played for Ireland, guess they migrated to England from Ireland during the potato famine as many did! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Owen_Farrell
