    What a fantastic name for an aftershave: Crypt, love it. The aftershave which did contain good body, with eternal must smell, not musk. A safe weekend to you and yours

    Absolutely agreed that razor/blade/technique is paramount. For soap, as you said, as long as there is slickness one should be able to get a decent shave.

    Hey Johan, great shave. Thank you for the mention. I will most likely be sending that straight I used in the video to the guy who fixed up my wade and butcher seven eights for a Polish, and honing. I will be checking out the lather and blade FB group, and hopefully, I will catch the lather Battle; good luck on that. And BTW, it is a go to hell mustache thank you very much LOL. You have a great day, and an even better weekend.

    Nice shave Johan 😌👏
    I’m catching up on videos, I’m definitely going to watch Lance. You’re right, when we did our blindfold shaves, we had already learned how to use a straight, so good on the man!!

    Hey Johan great to see you again.
    I recently got a sample of Son of Honeysuckle from MTB and really love the florally sweet scent. I never thought I’d be a floral scent guy but hey I’m not complaining, it’s just another category I can add to purchase. This scent in particular brings me to the smell of incense they use in Greek Orthodox Churches and in Orthodox homes so it was such a wonderful surprise, so much so that I am trying to hut down a full size soap and splash but they’re out of stock in Australia. 😒
    I completely agree the Razor and blade is most important as that’s what gives irritation and makes for an uncomfortable shave.
    I hope you and your family are well.

      Have a great upcoming week.

    Wow! Good for him straight shaving while blind. If I were to go blind it would be electric razor for me. I'm still using my blood and cant afford to just waste it. Nice quick shave. Take care.

    I feel, that once a person has developed good technique soap matters very little. Glad I'm not the only person that thinks that.

    Brush looks the bollocks , and a great Sheffield 👌🏼🦉

  • @marionthebarbarian886
    @marionthebarbarian886 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Soap doesn't matter, as long as it provides slickness and makes the whiskers brittle. 😉

    I find that Kaizen dries out quickly if you don't put the time in to create a lather. Nice shave Johan

    I had a similar brush w boar and decided to change the bristles to synthetic after your previous video. Wasn't that easy, not smooth and the result not nice.... but it works.... They used some horrible black tar to attach the original brush/handle before. Anyway, it's working now, but not cosmetically nice....
    Now, no " cushion" on your lather..... what's up w that...... jajajajaja

    • @Shave_n_Butcher
      @Shave_n_Butcher  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have never changed the knot on a brush. It sounds like hard work.

    Shaving was invented loooooong before soap, and IamCDB shaved with just water - which should answer that question. The blade cuts the hair, the soap/cream/oil makes it more comfortable.
    A bit like tin openers making it quite more comfortable to get at tinned food (albeit some 40+ years after tinned food was first invented), or baskedtball became a more fluent game when they eventually made a hole in the bottom of the basket.
    And doesn't george roll off the toungue more easily than Gee-o?
    (Against my better juddgment): How does a head shaver let his hair down?

    • @Shave_n_Butcher
      @Shave_n_Butcher  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those are interesting facts. How were tins opened before there were tin openers.
      Letting your hair down when you don’t have hair is a challenge!

    Is that blade very different in it's make up to your others? It seems to almost whistle on your cheeks.

      No it’s a rather normal half-hollow. It does sound nice though.
