Hey Brother. Those pulleys are pot metal. That link belt will wear them out eventually and those CBL-409 head stock pulleys are not cheap, when you can find them. I'd highly recommending getting a normal V-Belt. Beautiful restoration!

Thanks…my bearings are very noisy so time to replace. I would like a variable speed motor..Perhaps some day.

Really nice restoration. I have a similar era lathe. When I extend the tail stock, the handle end unthreads and I cannot put pressure on the workpiece. Do you have any pictures, etc. putting the back end of the tail stock together? Thanks.

Thanks for watching. In the first video I show the full disassembly of the tail stock. I would google the delta lathe model you have and search for the manual. It often times shows an exploded view of the tail stock. Hope this helps.

Looks good. Is the original motor on your lathe three phase? I commented on your previous videos that I have the same model lathe, but mine is 120 vac single phase. VFDs are typically used in this sort of application to run a three phase motor from single phase power; there are VFDs that work with single phase motors, but they're pretty uncommon.

Thanks, thanks for watching. I’m not sure if the original is three phase. I do know it came from a school wood shop and then sat for a long time. It’s possible someone swapped the motors out seeing as getting three phase to run could be challenging. Most of these lathes that I’ve seen have single phase. I would have upgraded to three phase or a 3-5 hp single phase at some point for more power to handle larger pieces as my skills progress.
