I’m about to go on a 14 hour road trip with my 10 month old. However, it’s just me and her - so I can’t keep entertaining her as I’ll be driving. She also puts EVERYTHING in her mouth and would eat most of your suggestions 😅 any advice?! I’m so nervous.
I’ve only had to do a solo road trip with a baby once, so I am definitely not an expert in that topic. I would say just knowing that it’s going to take you longer than the GPS says is helpful. I stopped more often to let baby out of the car seat a couple times when she was getting pretty upset. We stopped and had lunch/dinner out rather than eating in the car. Stopped for diaper changes etc.. if he/she is walking then definitely let them roam when you stop. I would definitely recommend planning around nap times to get the most car naps as possible. Bring toys that he/can chew on. A couple of board books. SNACKS!!!! I sang a lot of songs. And my kids weren’t watching TV and staying entertained at 10 months, but if yours is, that could be a savior. It is probably inevitable that there is going to be some crying and that is the hardest part (at least it was for me). I would give myself milestones to get through - we have to make it 25 miles and then we can stop for a coffee/little break.. you know, things like that. It was definitely tough mentally. I wish you luck!!! It may be hard, but you’ve got this!!
Thanks so much! I’ll definitely take plenty of stops to roam about, I can’t imagine being confined for so long. This trip is the only time I wish she would watch tv haha
I have an 8 month old and we’re driving across the country for the second time this year. She is now crawling. She hates her car seat. I don’t even know how imma do it lol!!

Oh one more question. My daughter is rear facing, but I’m thinking for the long trip do you think I should forward face her?
I kept mine rear facing but got a mirror so that I could see her. But, that is totally up to you and what you feel comfortable with
