"What wasn't good enough?" I would like to know that myself. If a man treated me the way that Todd treated Blair, he would never have to worry about losing me. He was willing to do anything to make her happy, and she still has this idea that she would be happier with CORD. What is wrong with her? Why is it taking her such a long time to see what's right in front of her? How can she not see that there's just no contest?
I think she has some emotional wounds from when she was an orphan and struggling in the world alone. She wants respectability more than anything and she somehow thinks cord is Mr respectability...
Todd and Blair are both so fascinating to me. These scenes are excellent at showing their wounds and insecurities. I do actually think Blair had fallen in love with Todd before they lost the baby but she knows less about love than even Todd does. Certainly at that time and had built up a fantasy about Cord (especially after Max) that she didn't know how to let go of. It's telling, actually, that Todd is truly the one she's never been able to let go of after all these years.
Good point. I agree with you. I think the Blair she wanted some kind of respectability and she was always trying to please people who would never be pleased with her. She finally wisened up at some point and realized she actually loves Todd.
Before going any further with Todd in their relationship, this would have been the perfect time for Blair to tell Todd the truth that she was not pregnant and that she knew about his inheritance before they got married.
@Dandesun ...but you're right: the magic of todd and blair is their mutual understanding of each others' "wounds and insecurities" and their total acceptance of each other as they are. that was SO key; neither tried to change the other. and because of that, when they both fell in love they simply wanted to be their best selves. well, between their fights and betrayals ;-) at the core, todd and blair are soul mates who have to greatest power to really reach each other. no one got as far "in"
I have SO MUCH TROUBLE understanding HOW she can want boring old cowboy Cord over this hot, smouldering bad boy with the gorgeous everything......WHEW.
@Dandesun blair was abandoned over and over as a child -- so security was everything. she fell in love with max and thought she found security -- but far from it. then she fell in love with cord and he was a truly good guy. an unavailable (due to tina) good guy, but she knew he was a better man than max. cord never hurt her intentionally, so it makes sense that she idealized him over todd at this point. but you're right ....
@Dandesun So true! Blair is clueless about love at this point and is completely deluded by her own illusion of Cord she can't see what's right in front of her. That was why Todd was so furious about her spouting on about how happy he made her to him and everyone else...she was behaving like she was in love with him, and he was too afraid to believe it. The sad thing is that her happiness was real, and so was the love, if only she could have recognized it...
Well to be honest the only thing that Blair loves is money because Asa and Max and Holden knew that to be true all along. But I like it when Todd is going to make changes here and no more for Blair because Todd is over her already and that's good. Bye bye Blair bye bye HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Ummm.... Despite your maniacal comment, 😂 I agree that at this time Blair seems to only care about money or has convinced herself she only cares about money, and more importantly respectability. Just like Todd over the years she changes and realizes she's going after something that's really not her and she comes to realize what's important and what she values. That's why this is such a great love story. These two people change and become better people, and realize they love one another and are soulmates

So true! Good comment! She had no real idea at that point of who she loved and she was deluded about Cord completely. As an orphan, she wanted stability and security. Repeatedly she would go after the guy she viewed as stable and secure who was completely not suited to her and it never worked out. They looked down on her and never loved her. Todd really truly loved her and understood her and that's where her stability was. When she finally understood that, and that she didn't actually love Cord or Max, she finally knew she loved Todd
Funny thing is Todd and Blair became one of biggest daytime's super couples no matter how many times the powers to be separated them.
No matter what they did to one another, the viewer could still tell that the love was there.

Tina is NOT a good woman. she is more concerned with sabotoging Cord's relationships than she is with her own children.

His face @2:02 OMG. Roger is SO GORGEOUS. Especially with that long hair and beard......THUD
Blair was told problem he couldn't trust her only reason she went back to Todd was cause he was with Tina
I have SO MUCH TROUBLE understanding HOW she can want boring old cowboy Cord over this hot, smouldering bad boy with the gorgeous everything......WHEW.
Shit, she hit the jackpot with Todd!
I know, right???
Blair had long held ideas about the type of respectable guy she wanted to be with and it took her a minute to get over those ideas.
