Looked at the Chrysler Pacifica, Honda Odyssey and the Toyota Sienna. Then I happened to look at the new Winnebago Roam mini RV. All they had to do to a standard Ram Promaster was to put in a Braun Under The Floor lift at the side door and add tie downs in addition to the usual RV add ons. So no chopping and lowering of the floor, no having to mess with the suspension to raise and lower the van, and a big advantage for wheelchair users, a toilet and sink. No more having to get gas and finding you can not get into the bathroom or that it is too small. Plus the bonus, if you are eligible for VA care, they will pay for the cost of the tie downs and lift. I got mine at Mesa RV in Phoenix, AZ.

Is there a shoulder belt for the person in the wheelchair?

Yes, there are options for a 4-point tie down system including a shoulder belt.

I'm thinking of starting a medical transport company and looking into which configuration of the ramp would work best and I think you answered that question for me. Thanks for the info

They type of entry depends on your surroundings. For myself, the Rear Entry is the easiest because I use a Ferry that carries vehicles over large bodies of water to the other side, and they make vehicles enter in rows single file. Having a sign on the back, asking the vehicle behind me to park one car length behind me is simple, but with a row of vehicles on both sides of me, there is no way to send a side ramp out.

Hi! Can I put a rear ramp for my dad’s electric wheelchair in my VW TIGUAN 2024?

Ramps can be a little tricky as you will need a long one for this to work. I would suggest a ramp at least 8 feet in length.

A Rear Entry is easier, because you don't have to worry about someone parking beside you. Your vehicle will also be popular with friends who want to move items that can be rolled in on a wagon. Lots of Tourism Taxis use them for suitcases that have wheels on them.

Indeed, this is one of the main selling factors of the rear entry vans.
