This was a clever sequence revision. CAPCOM knew that everyone played Chill Penguin first, so no one got to experience the stage in its full lava-laden treachery. I also loves how it prevents having to backtrack to Chill Penguin later on.
They change the parts around. So the capsules are in the same spot, but what's in the capsules aren't. The Sigma Stages are the most drastically altered
Indeed, the parts were rearranged for the remake, though are still in the same levels. Flame Mammoth got the Foot Parts, Sting Chameleon has the Body Parts, I believe Chill Penguin has the Head Parts and then Storm Eagle has the Arm Parts. Though keep in mind, the Hadoken is still in Armored Armadillo's stage
@@CoylerProductions however instead of having to reach the end of the stage 4 times to get the Hadoken, now you have to reach the end of the stage without getting hit a single time.
it was for the better, now you can complete the game armorless (except for Zero's arm cannon), you can get chill penguin's heart without backtracking and you get to experience flame mammoth's level with the lava pools. you can avoid backtracking for the heart container if you are willing to take some damage, but you still have to backtrack to get the subtank, it would be perfect game design if it weren't for that.
I recently played this. Seems my copy is glitched. I jump right before he lands so I land long after he does and I still fall over. I tried all different timings. Same thing. Will always fall over even though it's already been a few seconds since he landed.
To be fair, they did also have a Stag (Flame Stag, X2), a T-Rex (Burn Dinorex, X5), a Hyena (Flame Hyenard, X7) and a Chicken (Burn Rooster, X8) for fire-based Mavericks as well, so there's that. There's also how Mammoth spits flammable oil from his trunk (much like how real elephants spray water, and by extension how IRL liquid-based flamethrowers work), so I think that makes some sense!

@@CoylerProductions You are wrong about SC and SE, The buster upgrade is in SC stage and the armor upgrade is in SE stage.

2:41 He sounded like gta reference
Unused line Flame Mammoth has when he is defeated: No... No way!
who voiced flame mammoth -- sounds like Reecome to me
Gerald Matthews
Rockman X DiVE for Both Flame Mammoth Stage and Music but he's being relocated to X3 Volt Catfish Stage in this new game and some new attack tricks!!
If you every feel useless remember that giant mammoth

*_"FIRE WAVE!"_*
Bro made it look so easy
There would be someway to play as these Mavericks and if you play there stage you encounter Vile
That would be so neat.
Kinda weird they have a mammoth / elephant for a fire-based maverick.

Whatare you doing Flame Mammoth? Don't be stupid.
3:48 I'm glad I wasn't the only one who had that happen to him. 🥲
