I’m starting a business Is job corps a good please to go for a job ?
I went to the job Corp in Dayton, OH. It is a gov't funded trade school for 16 - 24 yrs old. You can stay up to 2yrs. You live on campus. They have separate dorms for males and females. Your food and classes are also on campus. It was like a small high school campus. University campuses are bigger and have more options. It's also on a schedule. You have to wake up, eat, go to classes, be on dorm, and lights out at certain times. Like prison, I felt, gov't funded. You can get incentives if you follow the rules. Every two weeks, you get a very small stipend and can get more if you do bonus work, so to speak. I had to wait 180 days before I could get a job. Then you could only work certain hours. It is not an accredited university, so I wasn't able to deffer my student loans or get hardship preference. The same happened with my credit cards. It messed up my credit. It was more like a high school. You just didn't go home after classes. My location was filled with a lot of kids who had trouble with the law or were from extremely broken homes. Some arrived literally with only the clothes on their backs. I wouldn't recommend it if you have another option. Hope this was helpful. Best of luck.
