Remember, Social Security Retirement, Disability, and Survivorship: Deposits by 4-29-2020
Veterans and Supplemental Security Income should be paid by 5-15-2020.
Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PAU) Program:
You might have to get denied for normal unemployment insurance before you can unlock the PAU. Each state is different.
Emergency Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) Grant: $1,000-10,000
Over half of workers would be eligible for the EIDL grant. The portal is still closed - however Pelosi and Schumer just SLAMMED the Small Business Administration (SBA) for not releasing the full $10,000 to small businesses.
PPP Make sure you hedge yourself - banks are being limited to $60m in loan applications per bank.

Texas is finally catching up on unemployment for us self employed folks. I checked today (April 27th) and they finally showed I was eligible for my benefits. They backdated me to my claim at the end of March...so this week it looks like I’m getting about paid $1400....Which is very nice. Very grateful.

I'm a non-filer on SSDI. The IRS thing yesterday told me to expect my payment this Wednesday 4/29, but it was wired to my bank this morning 4/27.

I spoke with SBA last week and they confirmed they were 4 weeks behind. I submitted my app on 3/30 and they are just getting to it now.
I applied 3/31 and Ive gotten nothing. They havent pulled my credit either. Did they pull yours yet?

Ppp is based on credit and debt to income. I used to many right offs on my 2019 taxes so am not qualified. Does not say that in any of the guidelines.

I’m a college student, I own a small business with a friend of mine. We got $1,000, not the $10,000 we were advertised to get. Our business has been drastically effected by this. I’m hoping we are eligible to receive the $10k, or maybe $9k to cover the difference. Also as a software dev, I’m blown away at how bad these government systems are at scaling. I always knew big government moved slow, but god damn we’re gonna have a cure for the virus before the small businesses get any help, and for many, it will be too late.

I got approved for 59,000 in one business and 93,000 in another. Unfortunately in the loan docs, it says NOTHING about any amount being forgiveable.
Submitted my app on March 29 then also had my credit checked by the SBA 2 weeks later but still not even 1000 grant given

I filed for regular UI in Texas on April 5th. It orginally came back as non payment no funds to draw. I figured that bcuz I own an S Corp and pay myself by Owners Draw. I then appealed stating COVID-19 PFUC self employed. Today I received an email stating I was approved for PUC and my amount is just under $1000 a week. Today I see that they have changed their website to make filing much easier.

Considering the EIDL Advance is subtracted from the forgivable portion of the PPP, it’s purpose is give businesses $ ASAP while waiting for other options. 1k is way too little. Imagine having a small self run business, forced to close, for over a month... 1k will not accomplish the EIDL’s intended purpose. It should be at least 5k with an additional 1k per employee up to 10k total
Small business's seem to be getting the short end of the stick..again.
They will continue to until a lot of them are gone. Many of the businesses that didnt even get a call back are now going under in only a few weeks. One business here local to me was opened for 40 years and they didnt have enough saved to even hold through 6 weeks of a crisis. Why give a loan to business already on the path for bankruptcy and just delay it another year or two? Real question. I understand starting a small business within the last say... 8-10 years will always be the hardest times, but if you have a successful business for 40 years through 2 generations of family and you cant make it through 6 weeks to pay rent and bills... you're saving your profits wrong.

If my taxes are more the next year that's fine since we are facing hardships now and we are expecting the economy to bounce right back up so we think we will be able to handle more taxes versus being shut down now forever.
@@buzuxi our business has a savings budget that we can go for 9 months without a single customer. It is called saving profits. We are a small time bar, 2 locations, each bring in about 1.2M gross sales annually. 45 employees between both locations. That is small in comparison to other companies that are failing. Either they have way too much overhead, or they're living well above their means as a business. We can survive 9 months at each location and we have spent about $25k upgrading both locations and trying to keep employees busy while getting paid to help us upgrade since we have been out of work. So tell me again how businesses cant survive 6 weeks? Someone like Ruth's chris taking in 480M in revenue per year and they also take a 20M government loan meant for places like us... like I said, we are small potatoes in this entire world, but because we have a savings account we are fine.
Applied the normal way got denied now the site is down I live in Florida I'm self employed I tried calling it's like winning to lotto trying to get through to somebody I've been out of work since March 10th struggling to pay next up coming rent. something gotta give also applied to the disaster loan April 5th still waiting for a email or call back didn't get the automatic 1000 direct deposit it's all been a waiting game an time is running out . . . Stimulus check came an went on late owed bills this is crazy.

J R you really should. Many got a head start, but you should still try. Apply at least 2-3 different small places.
What he's saying is totally right. It took 3 weeks for my unemployment to start but I did exactly what he's saying as far as applying for regular unemployment first. I got denied and then applied for the pandemic unemployment. I even put in an appeal as soon as they denied me. I emailed any and all paper work to the unemployment office as proof of anything that I thought could help. The most important thing is to remember to REQUEST YOUR WEEKS! I requested money that Wednesday and got a deposit on Friday. The same Friday it allowed me to request money AGAIN! The first time it was for the back pay. The next one was for the current weeks.

I work in the SBA's call center, and the word we got (this morning -- /April 27th) about the EIDL was that since the funding has been approved again, they're going to "resume" processing the applications that have already been submitted -- and they would open the portal for new application "as soon as possible". I wouldn't even want to guess about when that would be. In other words, they want to process the applications that have already been submitted -- and try to make sure there will be some money left -- before opening the flood gates again and having thousands of people calling in every day to "check the status" of their EIDL, or to complain that they don't have any employees but the $1k just will not do and they still insist on getting the full $10k as a grant. Many people are hurting, and a few are just trying to scam the system, making it more difficult for everyone. I read an article in "USA Today" which said that the SBA has processed 14 years worth of applications in the last two weeks. They're working 7 days a week and are doing an admirable job of stepping up.
Personally, I think Pelosi is doing this to try to come back from her "$24k refrigerator full of $12 per half pint ice cream" video, while most people are hurting. She was the one that blocked the second round of funding, or doesn't anyone remember this? I question her motives.

Considering the fact that if the sba is listening to them, then the executive branch had nothing to do with limiting money on the eidl
"When the SBA chose to place arbitrary limits on award amounts and..." This is legislation by regulation by the bureaucracy. This has been a growing trend in the government for decades. The EPA and other government entities have circumvented the legislative process by doing this. It's ironic the democratic leaders are the ones standing up to this for once. I hope they follow through and the full $10k is paid to those who applied before they changed the wording to $1k per employee.
Cliff, I think we are in agreement here, but the wording that the SBA chose to use administratively of "$1k per employee" is not found in the statute that I can see. The agency simply took it upon itself to alter the will of Congress with this rule, which it may not have had the authority to do. I think this is the point of the letter from Schumer, et al. What is needed here is simply a court order that the SBA comply with the provisions of the CARES Act, as written, and provide the full amount of the EIDL grants, until and unless Congress and the President amend the law. Such an order should apply to every applicant retroactively, no matter what wording the SBA chose to make up on their own. They even removed the place on the application where the business owner could request the amount of the grant, up to $10k. Clearly this is not what was signed into law.

I applied on April 6 and have almost given up hope. No information or contact from SBA and no idea where my business is in the queue. The word "bullshit" comes to mind.
I never got denied... I got approved for unemployment instantly and when the PUA came into my state (Nevada) i got those instantly too

These constant changing of the rules is soooo frustrating. I've already been screwed by Wells Fargo because they were limited in the funds they could give out and then delayed so long before opening up the application process (the day before the money ran out) but now because they are a bigger bank we get cut out again because they are going to limit the amount each brand can process? How is that fair when I submitted my initial interest as soon as Wells Fargo opened it up but now others who applied 2-3 weeks after me are getting money? I've tried applying with other small local banks but they are all demanding you be a prior business customer. I GIVE UP! I can't hold out any longer and will just have to let me employees go and close up the business.
