    Agreed on the having a smaller stadium for the championship game and I'd definitely add on that this should apply to the UFL teams in general as well. Attendance is a huge problem for many squads and the look of all those empty seats just takes you out of the experience when watching on TV. A smaller stadium in more populated football areas is a must.. The old UFL understood this perfectly. The current UFL not so much

    Well regarding choosing the stadium for the championship game the UFL picked St. Louis being home of the Championship site prior to the start of the UFL season. I do believe the XFL did that as well last year. I'm ok with that, just how the city for the Super bowl is chosen ahead of time. I think the UFL chose St. Louis for 2 reasons. First of all St. Louis has the best attendance so if the Battlehawks did make it to the championship game you would have a large crowd for the game. The 2nd reason it's a dome stadium. Dome is a better setting for the championship game because you don't have to worry about the weather. Like how Birghimham had some bad weather games which saw lower attendance. Also IMO why San Antonio was chosen last year. Regarding USFL/XFL players being drafted by the NFL. The NFL is watching the UFL/USFL/XFL, if a team wants a player they will go after that player

    • @ZombPhoxUFL
      @ZombPhoxUFL  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I agree with the domes being solid and safe options for stadiums, but if the league does decide to start the season earlier it would open the door to outdoor stadiums that aren't in massive thunderstorm areas to host the game. I do also think the league needs to continue doing the announcement before the season starts like they did this past year.

    I loved Canton for the USFL championship. The 2022 game was the high point for modern spring football. All-time game, packed stadium, great tv viewership. But the crowd for the 2023 game was hurt by rain during the day of the game. Hard to pick between a cavernous dome and an appropriately smaller outdoor stadium.

    • @ZombPhoxUFL
      @ZombPhoxUFL  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That rain definitely hurt the 2023 USFL Championship games attendance. I remember checking on the weather about every 15 minutes during the rain. I think it is a risk, but I would prefer a smaller outdoor stadium since you at least know that if you have good weather you will fill over 80% where as a huge dome you are lucky to fill 33%.

    I like that idea Phox that the UFL championship game to be in Hall of Fame stadium or a potential expansion city to get into like Omaha, New Orleans, or Atlanta to see that interest level is there that's a genius move Phox

      I definitely think having the game be at one of those potential expansion cities is a great way to potentially gauge how great that city can be!

      🤔🤔 they could bait off the NFL and do it in the Shrine
      Nola hosting both the Superbowl and UFL championship

    • @ZombPhoxUFL
      @ZombPhoxUFL  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I personally don't think it is. While them both having hawks at the end makes them somewhat similar, you still have the differences of Battlehawks being a 3 syllable word vs Nighthawks being a 2 syllable word, and the logos are naturally very different, and their colors are also really different as well. Also as an example you have the MLB having both the Red Sox and the White Sox which both have Sox as the second word, but 99.9% of people have no problem differentiating the two.

    St. Louis drew 30,000 for championship game on 6/9. Yankees Dodgers and Celtics Mavs were on 6/9 so 30,000 is a great number considering. Birmingham was sorry!

    • @ZombPhoxUFL
      @ZombPhoxUFL  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It really sucked how that game only had a week to sell tickets due to how tight the XFL #1 seed race was, if tickets had been available for a couple more weeks that game could've had over 35,000!
      Edit: BTW if you saw my earlier reply, I got the dates mixed up and thought you were talking about the UFL Championship game and not the XFL Conference Championship game.

  • @johnwx25
    @johnwx25 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Attendance doesn't matter? It matters to the TV negotiations. TV says empty seats are a really bad look.

    • @ZombPhoxUFL
      @ZombPhoxUFL  หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's the main reason I think the Championship game needs to be at a smaller stadium like Tom Benson's so you don't need to have 30,000+ people show up to look ok, compared to Tom Benson's where having just 12,000+ looks solid for TV since capacity is only 23,000 instead of near 70,000.

    • @ZombPhoxUFL
      @ZombPhoxUFL  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Also as an FYI when I was talking about attendance not mattering that was in terms of the league making money according to the average UFL fan who thinks that attendance revenue is not nearly as important as TV revenue. Naturally I think in person attendance is more important than the amount of money you make from attendance as I would rather see a team sell tickets for $10 each on average and get 15,000 people in the building than sell tickets for $20 each on average but only get 10,000 people in the stadium, as while you lose some money you have a product that looks much better on TV.

      @ZombPhoxUFL  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree, while 2023 didn't have as many people as 2022, Canton had a crowd that was big enough to look good compared to what St. Louis did last month in their huge stadium.

    I pretty much thought correct about what the UFL owns. I know FOX acquired most if not all the original USFL teams. I'm pretty sure the UFL owns all the current XFL teams such as the LA Wild Cats, Sea Dragons and so. I did not think they had the rights to the original XFL like the Rage, Extreme and so. I know they don't have the rights to the UFL of the early 2000's, it's a different league. I know for a fact they don't own the rights to the AAF teams, so please everyone the San Diego Fleet will not be in the UFL

    • @ZombPhoxUFL
      @ZombPhoxUFL  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I did look and it does seem that the UFL has filed for the LA Wildcats trademark, as that was the one team I didn't know for sure about. I do agree that people need to push on the brakes regarding the San Diego Fleet for sure, since the league isn't going to go through the hassle to bring back that brand if it means they have to pay somebody a pretty penny for it when they could just make an expansion team instead. I do think the league should consider trademarking the old UFL and XFL teams, or at least the ones they might use since they aren't owned by anyone right now.

    • @kpowers
      @kpowers หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ZombPhoxUFL what original UFL teams should the new UFL trademark?

    • @ZombPhoxUFL
      @ZombPhoxUFL  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would say the Nighthawks and Locomotives are the two the league needs to trademark the most, but they should also trademark the Virginia Destroyers and the Hartford Colonials. I don't think the UFL will ever need to trademark the Mountain Lions or the Redwoods, and the league already has a few Florida teams trademarked so I doubt they would need to get the Tuskers trademark as well as NY with the Sentinels.

      @@ZombPhoxUFL Well I've been Googleing stadiums in Omaha and I only find very small stadiums, I could be wrong because I don't know Omaha all that well. If they don't have a decent-size stadium that could be an issue. An ideal size should be at least 15,000 - 20,000 IMO, I'm reading an article on-line say's they are building a 7,000-seat soccer stadium in downtown Omaha, that is still way too small IMO. The Locomotives, well we saw how bad the Vipers in Vegas. But if the UFL does go back I'm pretty sure they will favour the Vipers in Vegas over the Locomotives since they already have the rights. This is just my opinion but I really do think the UFL will just focus on bringing back former USFL and XFL teams (they have lots to choose from), even in new locations. With that said I could see the Wildcats in San Diego (AND NOT THE FLEET) or the Washington Fedderals playing in Hartford instead of the Hartford Colonials or moving the former San Antonio Gunslingers to Salt Lake City
