Redzone is the only way I watch football at this point because it's commercial free. If it gets commercials I guess that's the end of my football viewership.
NFL is destroying itself. They're hyper protective of all the highlights and video archives, so they NEVER hype players, great plays, great games, etc. Only way you'll see it, anymore, is to go search for it yourself. There's no nostalgia factor any longer. No connection with fans, other than whatever player they care about this week and will completely discard and forget about next week. Everything surrounding it is more focused on and seemingly important than the actual NFL games/players. Betting, social media, advertising, etc. are more focused on than the actual NFL games.
It’s the same issue the NBA is having. The customer went from being the fans to being the TV networks and that will most likely be the downfall of these leagues eventually
Yeah they're following same path of other leagues making more and more stuff behind paywall exclusive services. NFL has been more accessible than other sports and part of popularity, but they seem determined to keep making their stuff more difficult to watch.
You know I didn’t even see the hooplah on the internet but I was pissed when I saw that ad. I watch red zone for the fact there is no ads. Like everyone else

This (ads) is never going away. And it's for a simple reason: it's no longer enough for a corporation to post consistent profits quarter over quarter. Today, corporate boards require profits to INCREASE every quarter. Being consistently profitable now just means stagnation, and they won't accept that. So after they've done everything else they can do (reduce service, increase subscription rates), the only option left to bring in more revenue is to sell advertising. Eventually there will be no ad-free anything.

I’d imagine the different leagues (sec,Mac,big 10) and their different TV deals make that impossible
