Diana Damrau has always been a hit-or-miss soprano to me but this recital captures her in good, smooth form, despite being a later date. Probably because these are art songs instead of operatic scenes and arias so she doesn’t have to push it and expose any of the rough spots that come with age. Xavier de Maistre is always great too; I wish he would record the Blessing of God in Solitude by Franz Liszt.
No, this was way back September 2019, this was only a free live stream from the Enescu Festival website did, and one of my friend recorded the stream last year and I able to upload it on my channel.
