The #GenesisGV80 is the brand's first-ever SUV for 2021. Based off the same platform as the new #Genesis G80, the #GV80 has the looks to make you think you bought a Bentley, an interior that would shame a lot of European luxury brands, and a price tag that will make you think you should have paid a lot more. The 3.5L twin-turbo V6 also makes 375 HP and paired with an 8-speed automatic and AWD, we imagine a lot of shoppers will be flocking to Genesis dealers when it goes on sale this November.
Here it is! The long-awaited driving review for this hot new SUV from Genesis. We imagine the 350 Genesis dealers around the country will have a tough time keeping this crossover on the lot and for good reason. Do you guys prefer the G80 or this GV80?

It hit a tree full speed without skid mark, roll over several times yet tiger wood only suffered leg injuries with conscious. Im gonna buy it next time

So happy with our new GV80, we went all out and purchased the Prestige with ALL the bells and whistles and boy are we happy this is an awesome car and for the price point for the top of the line car is great. We are in total luxury when we drive it, the safety aspects of the car make it as safe as any Benz. We get many compliments from people and have even noticed people taking pictures of it as well.
Test drive one and you will see what a I mean. It’s fun to always be learning new things about what this can do…it’s really a smart car and I’m sure future models will only get better.

@@SimornM I drove a 2020 g70 awd 2.0t on Halloween. Fucking amazing. I’d go for the v6 though but. Everything else, including the handling and feel of driving, was great.
Time and consistent iterations. I feel like the luxury cars from the Europeans are just resting on their laurels with people just defaulting to them. They need to be careful, Cadillac used to be top dog for example, now it is pretty much an after thought

Hyundai have gotten the best designers from luxury brands, they have Audi and BMW designers now working for them and the guy that designed the Murciélago is working for Hyundai!****

I think the 2022 refreshed G70 actually has some matte options that will be offered here.
Man it’s amazing how Hyundai has come along way so much. Hyundai best Korean luxury flagship line up. 😎👌🏼
All Genesis models now adopted this new character & styling, but what I don't like about Hyundai & KIA products is that a few years down the road they will introduce a new character & styling. If you look at Mercedes, BMW & Audi they have defined their character and what represents their brand over the decades and they stick with it.

I dont think they'll switch it up. I think they've been trying to find their style and now that they finally found it i dont think they'll stray to far from what they stumbled upon now since this is a big hit. Only time will tell tho. As long as it looks good im ok with change. People who arent buying the german cars dont really care about the "brand" so to speak they just want a nice car with good features for a good price.

Me too... I’m in Alberta. I did not want the third row so when Sofyan said Prestige only had 2 rows, I was pretty happy because it would mean I got a spare tire.... which I prefer. The American market gets a much nicer selection of colours than us. That Gold Coast Silver is STUNNING!!!
I own 2 BMW X vehicles, and will be trading one in very soon. I will have to take one of these for a spin, I don’t know if I’m ready to park one of these in my driveway but I’m curious for sure. Please let us know how your vehicle holds up over the next couple years.

@@sv52308 do you really think it cost 3x more to build the bentley? did you know the people who designed this gv80 are the same people who built and designed all the recent bentleys? guess what, they work for genesis now, as well as the former bmw exec. they designed the genesis models the last few years. also, did you know the g80 from a few years ago was the same sound system as the bentley? only difference was the one in the genesis was upgraded and higher quality compared to the bentley. do your research dude. its like those idiots who pay 15k for a purse thinking its actually 5x better than a 3k purse.

Can you please do a segment on how The 2021 Genesis GV80 saved Tiger Woods life? The media is trying to ask if the car was the issue but it’s a known area for high accidents and the Genesis GV80 is the reason Tiger Woods is alive.
Most accidents the caused is the driver and put the blame on the car if they die.

I saw one at the dealership yesterday while my G80 was being serviced. I have to say they are even more gorgeous in-person!
This suv punches all the right buttons for me; except for wireless CarPlay. I really want that in my next vehicle; so the phone is active once in the car with no wires.

Wow. I’m super impressed by this car. As a owner of a RX350, I would pick the GV80 over the Lexus based on the looks and interior. Curious if the reliability holds, but I’m glad Hyundai went in this direction.
I like that you showed the second and third row of the Advance with the 3rd row, but I believe the prestige has ventilated second row seats. It also has power seats. That would have been nice to see. I would also like an interior review of the base model. Loved the video though!

Here now... Tiger took his off road. The car handled fine, (just a few sticking to the road issues to work on), but it can take a beating out there. Soon, this SUV will be rolling with the best of them.

I think it's a decent space in the 3rd row, all you gotta do is ask the person sitting in front to pull their seat forward a little and you should've feel a huge difference..
I don't understand why you keep saying significantly cheaper than German competition! At least in Canada it is almost same price as a German. Maybe 5% less if you go with bare minimum trim which defeats the point. Also I think people willing to spend 60k grand on a car do care about badge recognition and prestige. Similarly people happily pay 5grand for a Rolex but Casio cannot realistically charge 4800$ for a watch just because it is almost as nice as a Rolex and has a calculator built-in! Luxury is(unfortunately as superficial as it is) about brand, prestige and recognition

The fully loaded GV here in Canada comes in around $8,000 higher than a fully loaded RX350. Pretty lofty expectations for a manufacturer with no actual dealerships established here yet.
true but this interior alone blows away all competitors in this segment. this is Bentley/Rolls Royce level of detailing.

Excellent review! I would take one of these over any other SUV in it's class. I find it fascinating that people are comparing this SUV to the Bentley Bentaga, which is three (or more) times it's price. Keep up the great videos,
This is so nuts how Hyundai and Kia are making cars like this. After all the reliability nightmares and catastrophic failures people are having with the Germans, this is refreshing. That styling is off the hook and reminds me to some extent of the 300M from Chrysler, but I don't know from the sides. Those wheels with the micro-designwork are also crazy. The interior looks fantastic. They're not busy pumping the cars up with frills, which is a good thing.
This is a nice looking SUV. A Bentayga for the common man.
Lexus and Acura better watch out! Genesis is back!

I sincerely hope this takes a big bite out of Lexus sales. They’ve been foisting garbage on is for several years now with their ugly designs and lagging technology. The only thing they’ve got left is reliability which isn’t going to continue to pump their sales numbers when consumers have options such as this to consider.

Lots of others are coming to the same conclusion as well. This would be on my list if I were in the market for a suv.

Great review! I like this GV80 a lot. I'm also looking forward to the GV70 when it comes out. Yes, they do need to improve their gas mileage but it's not a deal breaker for now. I too would love to see sport versions of this GV80 and the GV70 with 0 to 60 times of less than 5 seconds. I would definitely go for that.
A 2.5 RWD Advanced for 53k is an absolute bargain for what this is. 53k is Mercedes-Benz CLA territory lol

@@yes8032 wrong. There nice an all, but in the end, they are endless money pits. Japanese luxury cars like Toyota Camry and Avalon and Lexus are solid made true luxury vehicles. They last for a long time, German cars, not so much.
But this isn’t German, the genesis is way better than Lexus, and is more solidly built. Genesis doesn’t even have much recalls compared to Hyundai. So it is just as reliable as Lexus!

I saw a model of the same spec (Adriatic blue model) at my dealership the other day. I love it and I'm definitely considering getting it. Waiting to test drive the GV70 and GV80 back to back though

With the new MDX I feel like yeah, but the RX is dated and kind of cheap looking in my opinion and this blows any infinity

I believed Lexus is taken notes. One of the TH-cam bloggers reported Lexus pushed the next generation RX back by a year or two due to the GV80.

Lexus has nothing to worry about, they have NA engines with port and direct injection.
It’s beautiful... but they kinda show the cost cutting by limiting certain features from passengers like massaging seats and limiting the number of ways the passenger seats move compared to the drivers.

I have a base GV80 v6 and the GV70 3.5 and love both now I want a MDX F spec
i love this car, but that Prestige model needs blonde colored wood inserts - the black wood looks weird with blue and tan. Bird's Eye Maple (or something similar) would have looked amazing.
