Mount Yoshino - Famous Cherry Blossom spot + a lot more! ☁️🌸 - Japan Travel Vlog 🇯🇵

In this video, we're in Mount Yoshino [Yoshinoama] (An official UNESCO World Heritage Site) in the Nara Prefecture! It has been famous Cherry Blossom spot for many many years! The mountain is covered by approximately 30,000 cherry trees of many different varieties. Unfortunately the warmer weather meant the Cherry Blossoms peaked early than usual AND the rain and fog rolled in and concealed all the valley views we were hoping to see! BUT, nonetheless, it was a lovely area to explore for the day!
We start hike from Yoshino train station, starting at the Shimo Senbon (lower) area that encompasses the base of the mountain around Yoshino Station. There is a Ropeway that will bypass a steep ascent between the station and the town, but we opted to hike up! Along the way we explore the Naka Senbon (middle) area which has many local shops, restaurants, temples, shrines and food. We had the most delicious Tofu set plate lunch at Tofu Chaya Hayashi! And of course we can't resist trying the famous Cremia soft-serve! 🍦
Finally we reached the Kami Senbon (upper) area where we arrive at the Hanayagura View Point. Usually the most famous viewpoint, but not for us this day! ☁️
