This is from a native. It’s only crowded if you’re poor. You are worried about shopping in an era dominated by Amazon? If you want overcrowded go try living around Valley Fair, Salinas, Capitola or wherever you have such trouble getting to.

average 2-1/2 hours commute to San Jose for 5 hour round trip! street work continuous as this is an old town. two or three families in homes making parking very difficult in neighborhoods. if you don't speak spanish becoming harder to live here as signage is converting to spanish and nearly all clerks have to be biliqual or speak ONLY spanish in some cases! COL higher than CA average....
