Oxidation Numbers for Individual Atoms in Molecules

  • You may already know how to calculate the overall oxidation number for an element in a compound, but do you know how to calculate the oxidation number for individual atoms within a molecule? Often different atoms of the same element in a molecule have different oxidation numbers. This lecture will show you how to calculate them and use them to check your value for the overall oxidation number.

    at 14:49, when 06 is going to go to the other side of the equal sign, shouldn't it become positive 6?
