Whenever I see something like this that everybody recognizes and uses on a daily basis, but has no idea how it's made...it blows my mind that someone actually came up with this invention. Who thinks of these things?
Bro I barely understand what happens but it's so cool, I bet we won't learn this at school, like everyone wants to know how they make these but we don't learn that
Amazing. Is there what is considered poorly made mirror vs high quality mirror? Also, plz make a video of adding bevel to your glass. I live the look of beveled mirror. It always strikes me as a true artist can only master this. Thanks for sharing
This is soo Kool, Thanks! Somone I Know has Been Trying To GIVEAWAY a Free Piece of Glass. 4' by 7' - Now I might go get that freebie and use your method shown here.
When I was at school, I learned that this reaction need heat (RCHO + 2[Ag(NH3)2]OH (heat) ===> RCOONH4 + 3NH3 + 2Ag). But on this clip, there is no heat?

right it’s so crazy… like I would never be able to invent something like that💀
For real 😂 like I’m really stupid compared to other people that invented things a long time ago
The mixture is known as a ‘Tollens test’ and it was invented for detecting certain chemicals. The mirror effect was probably just a happy side effect
I feel like I learn more from TH-cam than at school

Making mirrors - I could see myself doing that
What is the ratio of compound needed? In order to make a formula for making an average size piece of glass into a mirror?

You missed the reducing agent used to actually precipitate the silver out on the glass.
why is it so hard to find a video of a mirror being made
i always wondered how mirrors were made
This is what I wonder in class 😻
But the liquid is prepared in a glass beaker, right? Why doesn't the beaker turn into a mirror, then?
