Crucial part is avoiding breaking plastic when twisting and locating small lugs accurately. All covered clearly...thanks (My plumber damaged the originals. Maybe he should have watched your vid!)
Thanks Richard, useful video. Any clues on how to change just the rubber seal? I live in a hard water area so a couple of ours have gone - I have replacements but can't work out how to separate the seal from the mechanism!
Just had a new one fitted - only time I've been able to find out what the make was - so now I look up this and find I could have bought myself and fitted easily.
I have the older Roco duai buttons. I've got two that the button broke. Since I can't find replacements. These newer installs of the right length assembly. Mine is a deep tank.
Thanks. Very useful and clear presentation. One additional thing.. I found that the top of the unit did not sit exactly onto the cistern top. I redid it, and by adjusting the pegs by not screwing them in fully, I was able to adjust the effective top of the unit. Thanks again
Did you try to unscrew the white pegs? (as mentionned at 3:05) ? I didn't notice you could do that to adjust the button height. That was the fix I was looking for for hours :)
Thank you! I have a question: after water flushes, the float drops and the cistern seals, then the cistern starts to fill up. How come the float doesnt float upward and unseal the cistern?
Managed to buy new clear seal bottom of rica Dama flush. Everything went well. Buttons flush when fitted as before. BUT pushing flys button it jerks up and stops flush I now have to hold down til finished flushing. White pegs are as before. I’m stumped to what would be causing this. Before you pushed button down and walked away and it flushed and filled up with water … buttons not working properly? Any ideas please. Thanks.
Great video, have taken mine apart due to water running into the toilet bowl. Rubber seal cleaned and seems ok (have cleared it and top side of valve 1:55 (still screwed in to bottom of cistern)), but still leaks water into the bowl. Looks like the previous owner has snapped the tongs so it won't locate the pegs (1:50), but it still drops straight down and doesn't sit proud. Could that be why its still running? not sure why, if its not causing it to sit proud above the tongs as the weight of the assembly pushes it down - its clearly been broken for a while and hasn't caused running water into the bowl? anything i'm missing? Thanks much appreciate this vide.
I should add this is all without having placed the lid back on the cistern. Just with the top valve 'placed' on the bottom basket bit which is secured to the bottom of the cistern.
It is just a case of twisting them but yes, they do take quite a bit of force. My only practical suggestion if you are struggling is to use 2 people, one on each end.
Thank you for the video. Can someone explain how the flush works on these toilets. There are 2 buttons. Which is short and which is long? Can I press both together? Can I press and hold?
Just watched this video as I need to replace just the 2 buttons on the top (moon and sun). But your video does not allow for fitting the cistern top back on as the lip of the metal column is too big to go through the hole in the cistern lid!. I will have to do it through the hole in the top of the cistern lid.
I am getting a “hammer” noise after pushing the flush button. This happens when i just push the button. If i release the button slowly the “hammering” stops. I have tried adjusting the blue part up and down but the problem is the same. Is there anything i could do about this? Thank you!
there is a small plastic peg in the large flush button that stops them sinking down. I'm currently trying to replace just that peg without having to buy the whole button again! Wish me luck 😕
I’ve fixed mine this morning by adjusting the two white pegs by unscrewing them more so they sit higher and the buttons sit on them. I wonder if this will fix your issue too…
Hey my guy! At 0:45 that grey seal ring thing at the bottom, mines fucked, are they easier enough to replace? Looks like you can buy them, and I have 2 to fix so would be cheaper. Is there a knack/process to it?
This is how videos should be done! Simple clear explanations without annoying background music. Thank you.
Many thanks for being so clear. No plumber available for days so trying myself.
Perfect. Saved us from hiring plumber and ordering parts

Thank you, so useful and so clearly presented - meant even I could make a successful repair

Maybe next time Nicholas...
My toilet broke and this guide helped me massively. Thanks Richard!
This is the second one for the basement bat. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxOuLt8IL_GxhhaK8DBuKEL-zV0UJVpWZn , works great

Can you put a video on how to change the Diaphragm Silicone Valve? Or could you tell us how to do it?

Very helpful run through on how to get things right with the Roca dual flush. Thanks Harry.
You're very welcome james, thanks for the comment.

Awesome! Thank you from Barcelona!!
Clear, concise and correct. Tks a lot.
Great video thank you... Do you have any video for the Geberit 290
It just so happens.....th-cam.com/video/HqR5IWmF4q0/w-d-xo.html

man, this was a good help for me!

If with the water shut off the cistern water level is going down then its the outlet valve, probably the silicone washer.
@@rogerpattube thanks, replaced the flush valve (with new washer - all now working.
My Roca toilet simply doesn't fill up in the top after flushing (i manually fill it with water) will replacing this part fix the problem?
I didn't find it that easy to separate into two parts, although I did manage in the end. Any suggestions for making it easier please?

Great tutorial thanks 👍
Thank you for the video. Can someone explain how the flush works on these toilets. There are 2 buttons. Which is short and which is long? Can I press both together? Can I press and hold?
Smallest button is half flush, largest button is full flush. They should flush with one push but press and hold if you wish.
OK - but HOW do they work. When I got the old one off the fitter BOTH buttons seemed only to operate the same lever ?@@richardharrison6439
@@nicholasnickson7254 Can't say for sure but I suspect it must be how far the lever is lifted
Mine has button pads inside, so the screws do not have anywhere to screw into. But the replacement part looks just like the broken bit.

Hi can you tell how do i change the bottom rubber washer in these flush valves
We don't sell those separately but will have a look when I get more in stock
Thanks for your help.
Tks Harry another useful skill acquired.

I have tried adjusting the blue part up and down but the problem is the same.
Is there anything i could do about this?

You would need to check with a plumber I suspect.
Thanks
When i tried this all went fine but both the buttons fell into the chrome socket and will not sit flush with the top of the cistern

Washer only costs £3 from
Once lid is back on , the toilet keeps leaking water into the bowl ! How to adjust ? Toilet doesn' leak with cistern lid off !
Having the same problem, did you fix it?
Screw threads down on pushes as they are forcing valve up
This product is garbage
Callum Stokes totally agree
schnap, buttons always go to shit, I currently have 2 toilets where the bottom ring has perished so the toilet is constantly bleeding water
