You have to realize that people's perception and thought varies from one another. He just pays attention to the story very well and piece together the information that has been given throughout the series.

It's not just about knowing what will happen, it's about being able to recognize some shots, make connections, analyze the characters and expose his theories. He catched stuff even some manga readers didn't see. If he was reading the manga to pretend he was smart, he wouldn't be able to notice most of the things he says. And every time he is spot on about something, there's always a reasoning behind it. So no, he's probably not reading the manga behind our back. And yeah, if you watch him react to other shows, you'll know he's always like that.
To think the "time travel" in this show has been a thing since episode 1 (Eren's dream and even the episode title). Isayama is thinking waaaaay ahead, and making it all work perfectly all those chapters later is not an easy task, to say the least
Yea dude if you watch Filmbuff's first episode review he kind of briefly mentions that it looks like Eren's dream is of the future. At the time I saw that I had very recently read what ended up being the end of S3 of the manga and it BLEW MY FUCKING MIND THIS GUY WAS TALKING ABOUT IT IN EPISODE 1 LOL
Isayama already planned out the ending but he changed it because his editors doesn't like the idea that all the characters are going to be killed, the series also was supposed to last for jonly 5 years.
There's also a small, but very important detail that tells us that Eren not only sees the memories, but actually relives them as another person. When Eren woke up from the nightmare where he saw Dina turn into the Smiling titan, he asks "Who am I?". Thing is , he says "watashi wa". Eren NEVER uses watashi, he always says "ore". Grisha hovewer does use "watashi". And the transition to Grisha from Eren, where both cry for Dina tells us that Eren actually feels his dad's emotions of love and loss. He basically lives through several lives in one and has experiences of at least three different people: Grisha, Kruger, and Frieda.
I think because of this when Smiling titan eating Hannes in front of Eren, he couldn’t transformed into titan although he want to kill her. So i say Grisha’s will or memories prevent Eren from transforming.
I want to revisit this reaction and discussion while watching the final season, so I'll just leave it here, 13:25 paths, time travel, Mikasa & Armin 30:00 the curse of Ymir 39:09 the ability of the founding titan, royal blood, Historia 43:31 Zeke being royal blood and the possibilities 47:13 Eren and Zeke 52:22 the Ackerman 53:39 Ymir and Historia, the letter 56:15 Eldians 57:38 Eren Kruger I really enjoy your discussion :) thank you
I keep on asking myself why is eren so depressed after receiving those memories, he hasn’t kissed historias hand just yet and it’s not as if he hasn’t already seen a lot of f’ed up stuff. Then I think of chap 131, I think eren was “disappointed” at this time
When I first watched "the day“ I thought: „why would the People of Marley keep the Eldians alive in these internment zones, if "everyone" hates them and is scared of what they can become. And in this episode it is revealed that the shifters die after 13 years and that if they die the ability is passed on to yet to be born Eldian. And that's when I noticed that the Marleans are probably keeping so many Eldians alive so that if a shifter dies without passing the ability on, the probability of it being reborn in Marley is as high as it can be, so that the enemy has a lower chance of receiving it by sheer luck.
@@Sephizen well, I guess I should have started the manga at the beginning and not at the point where S3 ended 😅 Thank you for pointing that out either way, Seph. Always nice to see one of your comments on SnK vids ( these especially ;) )
As someone who's learning Japanese, I wannu add some more explanation about the title: In Japanese, nouns are very rarely explicitly distinguished by plural or singular. That's usually just discerned from context. Because of that "kyojin"* can mean both "titan" or "titans". "Shingeki" means attacking or advancing, and "no" is just a particle for forming compound nouns. So from the beginning, the Japanese audience is led to believe the "kyojin" doing the "shingeki" are the hundreds of titans inside Wall Maria. And it makes people forget that it could actually be referring to only one titan, until the name of Eren's titan is revealed. It's an ambiguity that doesn't translate to most other languages but works excellently in Japanese. "Attack on Titan" was actually chosen by Isayama himself because he thought it sounded cool, even though he doesn't speak English himself, and the name just stuck. So it's a bad translation of "shingeki no kyojin", but there isn't anything it can be translated to without spoilers. * It actually means "giant", but that'd be a shit name in English for those creatures, so "titans" was chosen instead for the translation.
Indeed! I think the simplest way to think of it is that it means "The Advancing Titan(s)", and context makes you think that it's the plural, but it's *really* the singular. Beyond that-as this episode suggests-"advancing" also has more than one meaning.
It was nice to see you so happy about one of your theories being right, even though it is quite depressing. My favorite foreshadowing for the Curse of Ymir actually comes from the tree conversation in S2. Reiner tells Bert to basically get it on with Annie once they're reunited, because they're "both murderers with short lives ahead". 2x9 and 2x10 have some of the greatest rewatch values in the entire series. You also really have to feel for Mikasa in this. She's spent her entire life protecting Eren and Armin from getting themselves killed and here comes something that she cannot stop. For someone like her, who relies on her strength and her willingness to take action, to be absolutely powerless is depressing. Both Armin and Eren have been in situations where she thought they died/were going to, so she already has mourned them once and now she knows she'll have to go through that again and much sooner than it should. Can't really blame her for being in denial about that coupled with the stuff they read in Grisha's books.
Man 2x9 and 2x10 are what made me read the manga. I watched them 10x each before I realised I couldn't glean any more about the outside and NEEDED to know more. Never read a manga before that. What an amazing build-up.
Isayama is a storytelling genius. He knows the weakness of every people. He even know about "every people need to be drunk on something to move forward. Girl, family, power, money, God, etc". This is indeed a fact. If he went to university, he absolutely will get the degree of anthropology or psychology easily. Oh. And maybe also politics and law
Your comment reminds me of Mikasa's Lost Girls episode. I feel like it explores that very same helplessness you describe, in light of the exact same circumstance, and even canonically takes place directly after this episode.
It is worth remembering that, before Mikasa's adoption by the Y(J)eagers, it was Grisha who decided to take Eren with him to Mikasa's house just in the hopes that they could become friends. Grisha even says as much, telling Eren to try and make friends with Mikasa, to which Eren responds with something along the lines of "that depends on her behavior". Because Eren already has just one friend and that one friend just happened to be named Armin, of all things, and here is this little girl named Mikasa, who's family is persecuted from both her father's side and her mother's side and who's therefore also very isolated and has no friends. Grisha could've remembered Kruger's words and thought "are these two supposed to be the Mikasa and Armin that the Owl mentioned?" Just a thought that I just got.
I think for sure Grisha remembered Mikasa/Armin being mentioned and believed them to be important. Makes me wonder if Armin ever had any interactions with Grisha.
@@shaun6038 he had. Armin said in episode 8 of S3 part 1,"The doctor Jeager I know wouldn't do something like this without any reason" it means they were close.
(Anime only theory) I'm starting to think Grisha was actually the one that gave Armin's parents the outer world book (the sea drawn in the book is literally the coast of Paradis island Grisha saw), showed them how to build the air baloon we saw in Sannes flashback (people inside the walls don't know about air baloons after all, otherwise they would go explore, on the other hand Grisha got a good look at that zeppeli), and then even made them catch by Sannes. This hellish expirience sparked Armin's dream. If that's the case, Grisha may have organized Mikasa and her mother kidnapping (the bandits weren't supposed to kill the oriental females, but to sell them). Grisha was shocked when he found out Eren showed up in the bandits hiding spot, maybe he had in mind to save Mikasa by using his titan powers. Eren Kruger was the puppeteer behind Grisha's hell after all, being responsible for Faye's death, and possibly telling Zeke to expose Eldia restoration (if FilmBuff theory about Zeke turns out to be true). At this point it's possible Grisha did this to Eren too, he may have been the playwriter of Eren hellish expirience, without him even knowing. Grisha did learn how to be a father after all.
Not only that, Zay(? I don't know how his name is spelled, apologies if i butchered it) mentioned something interesting. That the memories might have to be sent so that someone can see them and the person capable of doing that from the future might be the founding titan. It's possible that Eren might have sent thse memories to make sure he has both Mikasa (who is an Ackerman and an Oriental we already know how powerful ackermans are) and Armin (who his intelligent and later becomes the colossal and intrumental in securing victory) by his side as vital pieces in the war to come.
In regards to Ymir's backstory being from later in the manga. I believe her backstory was originally this chapter. In the manga the letter from Ymir contained her story, which Historia read through. In the anime though, since we had already seen her backstory, the letter was just a goodbye message, and then Historia saw the memories through a weird memory paths thing so that she could still be aware of them despite the letter not containing that info. But yeah, pretty sure this was originally where that backstory happened.
"There is no such thing as truth in this world. That is our reality. Anyone can become a god or a devil. All it takes is for someone to claim that to be the truth." Best quote in the entire series in my opinion. Also one of the largest if not THE largest theme in AoT
There's one that I think about almost every day- "He's already special. Because he was born into this world." The fact that we get to experience conciousness and life itself is a gift greater than anything else in the universe. It makes me want to live my life to the fullest :)
It's worth noting (and not a spoiler) that the 'letter memory' thing wasn't in the manga. Since they already included Ymir's backstory in Season 2, which was originally in this chapter, the letter was shortened, and they used this as a chance to tie it into the PATHS Ymir saw in Season 2 as well include a blink-and-you'll-miss-it Ymir in chains moment.
Regarding Eren Kruger's attitude towards the Eldian Empire history, in the manga, he does point out some holes in Marley's propaganda. I don't recall if he says more, but he points out that if the Eldian Empire did indeed do ethnic cleansing for 1700 years, it's unlikely that there would be any non-Subjects of Ymir left in the world.
In Japanese, there isn't any difference between plural and singular so for a long time people thought "shingeki no kyojin" meant "the giants of the military charge/advance"
Strictly speaking,Japanese didn’t think that it’s a name of titan. We had understood it literally “Attach on titan”.On the other hand,we felt unnaturalness from this title. It’s because we usually use “KyojInn no shingeki”in this case. What I want to say is this is really sensitive and difficult to translate.
@@coldwind8327 Why would he forget what Kruger told him? He remembered his mission pretty well. Obviously he would remember what Kruger said this whole time even after becoming a titan, also he gets Kruger’s memories too.
Now that you're finally here, my theory as to why Pure Titans eat people is so that one of them will eventually eat and inherit one of the Titan Shifter holders. It's like a basic instinct or sole purpose for the Pure Titans is that they roam the earth in search of people to eat even though they don't require food for sustenance on the chance that they eventually consume one of the Titan Shifters. The Pure Titans may or may not be immortal, but it is known at the very least that they do have extended lifespans in titan form (evidenced by Ymir's alleged 60 years as a Pure Titan life).
i also sometimes think about how maybe the titan serums weren't meant to be abused and exploited the way marley now does it, and that the pure titans were basically 'designed' to eat whatever human was in front of them (who is supposed to be a titan shifter) to be able to inherit their power. it's more or less the same thing, but idk just a thought
The odds of randomly coming by and eating a shifter are close to astronomical. No wonder Ymir felt elated, saying that she won the superlottery would be an understatement.
SPOILERS . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . This relates pretty well to the whole cannibalistic ritual of Siina, Rose and Maria. Considering there were no pure titans when Ymir originally lived and died, the origin of the titans as a "species" rather than a single human with superpowers, as well as their reproduction system has been eating humans ever since the start. This fits into Zeke's dialogue with Armin about the meaning and purpose of life: It simply refuses to die as all things do, so it keeps moving forward and entrusting it's meaning forward (Just as Erwin says in his last speech), which is precisely what titans do. Really tragic, fucked up universe Isayama managed to pull off
i dont think i have ever seen you like that when he dropped that in the end. amazing. also i have seen the "shingeki no kyojin" title drop so many times now and it never fails to give me goosebumps
It's crazy to think Eren actually relives almost the ENTIRETY of his father's memories, when he was still a children, all the way until he was an adult and nearly got killed by Gross, his minds must be really fucked now, that's why he initially got confused as to who he is when he wakes up in that cell
And you have to think of the royals who inherit the Founder. Is the promise really just that strong? Are they enslaved by the vow of renounciation of war? Or is their decision borne from knowing all the past lives? Or actually being privvy to the full history of their people?
@@AllTheArtsy yeah, that's what confuse me too, are they really enslaved? Or did they understand the king's will and just willingly don't want to use the power
On the topic of Bran's detachment. I absolutely love what they did with Eren's facial drawing and voice acting in this episode and the next. Our boy is changing so much. Remember the angry little kid?
I love the fact that they carry in their blood the will to "attack", to go beyond a mindset of survival in the face of oppression, even if the price they end up paying is too high personally; Grisha is not happy to be a martyr, he's not looking for a random cause to die for, and he even ends up regretting taking this path in life, but his arc ends up being about him learning to not resent his natural impulse to go beyond the walls that confine him (which is symbolized by his titan, but it's actually a profoundly human quality). Grisha and the Owl are the two greatest revolutionaries in the show, but they aren't fit to become myths, as they weren't born destined to greatness like heroes in greek mythology (which contrasts with their actual special condition as Eldians), but rather they are shown to be normal people, marked by a fragility that is profoundly human (once again, contrasting with the fact that they inherit titan "god powers"). This show doesn't show us their courage from their lack of fear, but because they fear and still fight back. I don't think destiny is here prophesized like in naruto or star wars, etc. It's more of a mystical link between people who in the future carry the torch of those who betted on them in the past with no real guarantee, people who fought today knowing they would never live to enjoy the fruits that bear from their struggle. Once again the contrast is heightened here because the owl actually has proof that he is "part of something greater" (because of the entanglement of memories from different people in him), but interesting enough he isn't detached from his own anguishes, he is not in any way a serene person like the stereotypical religious leader that knows "everything is part of god's plan" and therefore should pay no mind to the horrors that come from our earthly existence. On the contrary, he is deeply affected by the fact that he still sees the world "through a crack in the door", by his personal failures in life, things outside of his "part" in something else. In the end, the scene with Grisha and the Owl is not about a "passing of the torch" based on their ideology, nationalism, destiny, race (ugh), etc. but on a human ideal of directing one's own life's struggle to the easing of the struggle of others, and not to be venerated in the future as heroes or myths, but just out of compassion for the entire species, even people who are still going to be born, even people who will make mistakes in life just like they themselves did. They do take a violent and revolutionary stance in their political struggle; as they are indeed radicals, but humanism is nothing if not radical. ... even more so in their case, for they were born as monsters.
@@AllTheArtsy I have not read the manga and wrote this knowing full well that this "interpretation" involves me projecting myself in the work, if I were to write for a publication or something I would never talk about it like this, it's just fun to play around with this stuff, almost hijacking it from the author and the text.
@@AllTheArtsy in reality, if I had to guess, I would expect the naruto destiny shit to realize itself in some way or another, I'm a bit pessimist about the depth of this story, I have a constant doubt about the possibility that things that I like weren't actually in the text, and therefore the conclusion of the story will undermine my experience with things up until the third season.

That transition into the ending with Kruger saying "If you want to save Armin and Mikasa" is sooo great to see reactions too, every time they are mindfucked.
I love how thoughtful and introspective you are. You're reactions aren't just losing it at hype moments and missing out on the story. I'd swear you'd have read the manga beforehand with how much you manage to decipher, but I know you're an anime only. Seriously the best AoT reactor I've seen. My man out here finally being rewarded for all his theories and predictions. Can't wait until you get into Season 4, and I really wish I could get your perspective on the manga!
I agree, although putting it beforehand really primes the audience to know that there has to be other people (and more advanced people) outside the walls. The impact of seeing the blimp on the manga was so much greater than the experience with the anime.
Confirmation of Ymir's fate. RIP to one of my favourite characters. As others pointed out her backstory was given in the letter in the manga. It made revelations of what was outside the walls somewhat harder to pre-empt I think. Not sure which timing I prefer though, because giving the backstory in S2 when Ymir got so much amazing spotlight was fitting.
@@TonUryuu if they showed lesa of her I might have not been so intrigued to read the manga before s3. But the conversations with reiner+bert were still so teasing...
your reaction to the name drop and the plot twist of that memories of the future thing was so priceless. I can't wait until you watch the final season bc the discussion will be even more insane and interesting.
Filmbuff. I don't know what you think but... that episode made me realize something. Attack on Titan definitely is one of the most well written story of all time. The rewatch value is incredible. When I rewatched the anime more than 5-6 times, I was still finding new details and foreshadows in earlier seasons which is directly connected to the newer seasons. Serious dude, the amount of information we can deduce from the worldbuilding and dialogues before the reveal actually happens is unbeliavable.
I got chills everytime I watched the end of this episode. "If you want to save Mikasa and Armin..." Like, it's so ovewhelming and I can't help to tear up. There are so many things in motion all at once, and seeing the weight of all of this on Eren's shoulders certainly did a number on me.
i was literally just wondering when you would upload, well here we are. I was just watching your previous one and i watched the whole thing. It was really fun seeing you have a genuine WTF moment here, plus it's a great feeling to have. I'm not entirely sure myself whether or not thoughts and memories being sent through paths has to be intentional, though I don't doubt it can be done deliberately. I figure there may be a subconscious nature to it as well, including tapping into and receiving them, or like being in tune like how we see Eren/Grisha/Kruger in this ep. The paths moment Eren had in EP 1 I believe most likely is from himself. It's weird and I have no idea why, but as many times as I've seen this ep through rewatches and reactions, but when Eren was explaining the paths and the transfer of thoughts and memories, somehow the line prior to that about the blood and bones of a Titan also being sent through those paths never registered to me, or like.. clicked in my head. So, glad you brought that up and also glad you're immediately noticing Eren's change throughout this. That 'Save Mikasa and Armin' line creates quite the loop. Kruger subconsciously channeling it from future Grisha - though potentially could be Eren, due to them connecting and being in tune this episode - causing Grisha to say it later.
Man I'm so excited for you to watch season 4 Edit: God I'm so happy you haven't watched season 4 trailer, that shit was full of spoilers for someone like you.
Regarding titan transformation mechanics, flesh and bones supposedly forming out of ‘nothing’ you can’t help but remember Hange’s words in episode 15: ‘What we see and what’s really happening are two entirely different things’. Big brain foreshadowing imho
"If you're interested in the full length video" Bro NO! I got stuff to do! Lmao Honestly Filmbuff is my number one in depth reaction channel. Even though I'm up to date with the anime I still watch these reactions to see if he discusses any key points I might have missed.
You are one of my favourite reactors. You always understand what is going on and catch things that I didn’t even though I have watched the series so many times. It’s impressive
That part where Kruger tells Grisha it's the story he began always gives me chills; the line delivery and the music and scene change to young Grisha and lil sis...amazing fucking anime moment.
our of all the many-many channes i've seen and theories crafted, my favorite and most mind-blowing moment was still you watching s2, hearing Reiner saying a random phrase aka "we are both killers with short life ahead of us" and somehow, picking it up and interpreting it correctly i rewatched series many times, but even knowing what this meant, this small moment still never registered in my brain, while you managed to see it through and predict something that would only be revealed YEARS later respect
"It's not about getting one over the story, it's about being in harmony with the path that the writer has created for us." Fuck yes. "Getting it right" when the writer leaves little clues and hints and a semblance of a trail is a reward for the observant reader of any text. It's the equivalent of that "nod and a smile" to know that the reader is paying attention, and that the writer has a plan. I hate to be this bitch again but, up yours, D&D!
Omg! I was feeling like listening to scientific aspect of Shingeki no kyojin by listening to Filmbuff. He is the only reactor that breaks down this space and time travels of paths so amazingly!! I'm so lucky to have found this Aot reactor 😍
Im a new subscriber but i really love your content, especially your analysis portions of the reaction videos. You're criminally underated and you deserve more subs
Seeing how in depth he goes with these, I can't help but wonder how much he'd enjoy other similarly big brain series. Imagine him making such analyses on Mr. Robot, or Dark.
Im, remember the convo of reiner and bert at S2 ep 10 "children"? Reiner literally said "you both have short lives ahead of you" when they were talking about bert and annie.
I like this instantaneous timeline, sort of paradox theory you have. It would make a tragic amount of sense actually as to why Eren and the Attack Titan are so obsessed with freedom. Like they are stuck in this moment and these lifetimes of figuring out ways to tweak the outcome to their liking, or break the cycle. Man that would be a mindfuck of absolute biblical proportions and this would be cemented as probably one of my all time favorite works of fiction.
While the meaning of "撃" is close to "Attack", "進" itself represents "Move forward or in the positive direction, Advance,Progress,Proceed". though i understand this doesn't sound cooler or smoother as a title, precisely speaking, "進撃"' is "Move forward and Attack". Maybe ppl feel it slight, but certain difference in feelings exists between eng and kaiji title in my opinion.
I honestly think that Ymir either have written her letter or put some blood of hers in the letter, that's why when Historia touches it, it triggered those memories.
Stellar reaction and analysis as always, that final line of Kruger really was a WTF moment for everyone, manga readers when this chapter came out and anime onlys when this episode was released in 2019. It is always funny to see the change of expression heearing those words lol PATHS have entered the game, another game changer huh?
SHIN: advance GEKI: attack KYOJIN: titan(s) Since its not specifically single or plural in japanese, it basically tricked people into thinking that the title meant those mindless titans who were attacking the walls when this show started. I guess they just never expected the English viewers to understand, especially when you get a translation like... "attack on titan" lol
Being French, and thus not being familliar how english-speaker think of their own language, I always imagined they could easily consider "attack-on titan" play on word. But after watching years of foreign reactions, its seems like it never crossed their mind, like adding an hypen would feels so unnatural...
Hahh, I wasn't disappointed again, you are awesome man! I was waiting for so long to see your reaction when the Owl mentions Mikasa and Armin! Keep up the good work, happy new year!

@@austinyun Isn't one of the shots in Eren's nightmare in episode 1 season 1 Hannes getting eaten by the smiling titan?
@@anitaremenarova6662 Yep, specifically it's the shot where Hannes' blood gets splattered on the flowers.
EDIT: spelling
Isayama already planned out the ending but he changed it because his editors doesn't like the idea that all the characters are going to be killed, the series also was supposed to last for jonly 5 years.
@@D__634 That original ending was kinda bad tho

I keep on asking myself why is eren so depressed after receiving those memories, he hasn’t kissed historias hand just yet and it’s not as if he hasn’t already seen a lot of f’ed up stuff. Then I think of chap 131, I think eren was “disappointed” at this time
@@DBT1007 kajrare kajrare tere kare kare naina
When I first watched "the day“ I thought: „why would the People of Marley keep the Eldians alive in these internment zones, if "everyone" hates them and is scared of what they can become. And in this episode it is revealed that the shifters die after 13 years and that if they die the ability is passed on to yet to be born Eldian. And that's when I noticed that the Marleans are probably keeping so many Eldians alive so that if a shifter dies without passing the ability on, the probability of it being reborn in Marley is as high as it can be, so that the enemy has a lower chance of receiving it by sheer luck.
@@Sephizen well, I guess I should have started the manga at the beginning and not at the point where S3 ended 😅
Thank you for pointing that out either way, Seph.
Always nice to see one of your comments on SnK vids ( these especially ;) )
As someone who's learning Japanese, I wannu add some more explanation about the title:
In Japanese, nouns are very rarely explicitly distinguished by plural or singular.
Thank you for the specification!
Indeed! I think the simplest way to think of it is that it means "The Advancing Titan(s)", and context makes you think that it's the plural, but it's *really* the singular. Beyond that-as this episode suggests-"advancing" also has more than one meaning.
lol I guess he was just thinking "no" backwards = on, hmm ok it works.
@@ViperJoe Kind of a weird flex but thanks for...unwarrantedly one-upping the series for some reason? lol
@@emanuelebinetti6499 u r too dark
But yeah, pretty sure this was originally where that backstory happened.
yup, imo a good change since it makes the pacing a whole lot better
Yep that's here that the story is told !
her backstory was this late in the manga?? wow, a great improvement for the anime, one more reason why season 2 is incredible

"There is no such thing as truth in this world. That is our reality. Anyone can become a god or a devil. All it takes is for someone to claim that to be the truth." Best quote in the entire series in my opinion. Also one of the largest if not THE largest theme in AoT

11:30 “to save Mikasa, Armin, and everyone else.” THIS REACTION IS PRICELESS 😭

It's worth noting (and not a spoiler) that the 'letter memory' thing wasn't in the manga. Since they already included Ymir's backstory in Season 2, which was originally in this chapter, the letter was shortened, and they used this as a chance to tie it into the PATHS Ymir saw in Season 2 as well include a blink-and-you'll-miss-it Ymir in chains moment.
It's such a great change, in total.
"1700 years of ethnic cleansing? If that were true, there wouldn't be a strand of Marleyan hair left."
Finally. Something that shocks even FilmBuff. Rarely has anything truly shocked him till now. I had hoped this would.
I can alrdy tell the reaction portion was hard to edit. A really stacked episode
The reaction to that title drop was absolutely priceless. Also I love how much this part of the story opens up for theorising, it's just so cool.
In Japanese, there isn't any difference between plural and singular so for a long time people thought "shingeki no kyojin" meant "the giants of the military charge/advance"
This is what I was looking for, thanks!

I always thought this too. What a tragic existence.
Yeah that was my thought too. Fucking sad as shit...
i also sometimes think about how maybe the titan serums weren't meant to be abused and exploited the way marley now does it, and that the pure titans were basically 'designed' to eat whatever human was in front of them (who is supposed to be a titan shifter) to be able to inherit their power. it's more or less the same thing, but idk just a thought
The odds of randomly coming by and eating a shifter are close to astronomical. No wonder Ymir felt elated, saying that she won the superlottery would be an understatement.

There's something so satisfying about this guy's emotional sighs

@@sirtonyedgar probably they are really enslaved in their mind. Just watch the pain in freeda's face in this episode.

Man I'm so excited for you to watch season 4

btw, The Curse of Ymir was foreshadowed in S2 E10 where Reiner says that "You're both murderers doomed to short lives".
When he said Shingeki no kyojin, my mind was absolutely fucked. I couldn't think of anything else for several minutes. I was in awe of the writing
I just can't wait for your reactions for Season 4, you became my favorite AoT reactor, keep up with the great work!
I remembered Eren bit his arm to save Mikasa & Armin in season 1 infont of the scouts by remembering the bite gesture of Frieda Reiss.
You're a fucking genius dude, I don't know how you do it.
I honestly think that Ymir either have written her letter or put some blood of hers in the letter, that's why when Historia touches it, it triggered those memories.
16:07 and 17:10 my mind is just blown after you said this and after watching ep 20 of s4 part 2. How are you this intelligent wtf
You are the kryptonite for the guys that read the manga and love to correct people or seem smart in the comments 😂👏
I can't help but cry a lot with this episode ending, so well done isayama, so well done
4:33 eren and kruger's sitting posture ahhhh
"He said the thing" lol I love that moment it's so epic
I just noticed Eren doing that thing with his hand in the cell, was him holding a syringe as Eren Kruger 🤯
How long I have been waiting for this reaction! Salute from Italy 🇮🇹
Stellar reaction and analysis as always, that final line of Kruger really was a WTF moment for everyone, manga readers when this chapter came out and anime onlys when this episode was released in 2019. It is always funny to see the change of expression heearing those words lol
PATHS have entered the game, another game changer huh?
Again, like always, I am so excited to hear you talk about AoT and so excited for you to experience the next season!
That thumbnail though! Simply beautiful
@FILMBuFF Love your reactions!
I feel like you'd really, really love the show "March comes in like a lion".
SHIN: advance GEKI: attack
KYOJIN: titan(s) Since its not specifically single or plural in japanese, it basically tricked people into thinking that the title meant those mindless titans who were attacking the walls when this show started.
