    Just now been diving into Beads after my system was mothballed for almost three years (house renovation, don’t ask 😮) I also have an original Clouds which I still love so won’t be getting rid of it. Excellent patch examples and interesting sounds, very nice presentation too, as others have mentioned, so thank you for the clear and concise deep dive. Subbed. 👍🏼🙂

    Thanks so much for the vid…really learned a lot. Appreciated the index markers. Makes it so much easier navigating around. Thanks too for the guitar examples.

    this is a great video. i feel like you’re really good at making your patch examples musical and enjoyable to listen to beyond just as a technical demonstration

    • @Derrick_Evans
      @Derrick_Evans  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks man that’s what I’m going for! Getting into modular most overviews I watched seemed to be just technical and super bland patches. I want people to hear how it will actually sound in patches! Thank you for watching and the nice comment.

      I must agree with this. Really watching others its quite difficult sometimes. In here all the things are nicely done!

    Once Beads became available, I sold my 32 hp(!) Supercell module (Clouds clone) making room for a couple of other modules as well. Beads is more intuitive to use than Clouds IMHO, and has a few extra tricks up its sleeve, like built-in wavetables, reverb, and the ability to function as a clockable delay, which I use a lot in my music. Thanks for the video!

    • @Derrick_Evans
      @Derrick_Evans  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I will defiantly ponder it! Would be a crazy long one or could just pick some things to show on it. I have a couple modules that were sent to me that need to get done first then I could for sure work on that.

    • @planetplex

      @@Derrick_Evans cool. do you use it much? Mayb even a video showing a unique way of using it or something.

    • @Derrick_Evans
      @Derrick_Evans  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@planetplex just about every patch I do. But let’s say I don’t even use it close to its potential. The amount of cv processing it can do is amazing. Most likely touch on that aspect since most people only focus on audio samples.

    Hey! Really interesting video, I finally started Modular in hardware a few weeks ago, it’s way more addictive than software I believe.
    Anyway I found your video very well made with nice ways to play around beads, will definitely try some stuff out there!
    As well I really loved your beat repeat mode, actually I really enjoyed the sound of the drum beat, what did you use for it?
    Thanks for your time and the sharing!

    • @Derrick_Evans
      @Derrick_Evans  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The drums were BIA as the kick and Plaits for the snare hi hat stuff. The wompy sounds was a neuro bass sound design I did in ableton and put into my morphagene to sample. That was pretty much it.

    Hey dude, this is a great demo! I am curious on what camera(s) you used, they have a really nice color science!

    • @Derrick_Evans
      @Derrick_Evans  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! I want to say it’s my a7siii but I might not have had it yet. If it’s not my a7siii it was a a7iii and the second camera was a a7riii I borrowed from a friend. So it was all filmed in slog 3 for sure and color graded not sure what list I was using at the time.
