Cheap Trick, the one rock band that can play a bowling alley and a stadium and have great pride in both. I love'em and have been a fan since '88 (I'm 36 now) and between Lap of Luxury and One on One they always gave their best.
As a long time fan I am glad the guys were able to put their differences aside and appear and play at the Hall Of Fame together. Nice to see Bun. E. on drums one more time.
Awesome band and totally underrated for a band that is in the "Hall of Fame"- kind of a sham that it is. Cheap Trick has been around forever and they continue to put out good albums. Love them.
Floss Man In ‘79 (or 80?), I wrote to Rick asking for one of his picks so I could make it into an earring. He sent several...from Paris. I rocked that Rick pick earring for years.
Got to see them in a small venue in Jacksonville Florida, I was very close to the stage and was wanting one of Ricks picks but couldn't seem to catch one. So I offered the guy next to me to sell me the pick he caught. Some how from the stage with all the lights while playing , Rick grabbed a crumbled up dollar bill from his pocket and pointed me out and threw it to me so I ended up getting a free pick after all. I still have that pick and now many more .Best of all I still have the dollar bill that Rick gave me 30 plus years ago. Rick and the guys are still as humble and talented as ever! So glad they have been so successful. Hard work really does pay off !
God, I love the segment from 2:40-3:19. It's exactly what happened. "I told ya!"...that's exactly what I did after 16 years of being such an obsessive die hard where I did everything I could to show people that they're the best (American) rock group of all time.
That was almost like an old Beatles interview from the 60s. I not only love Cheap Tricks music and their comical look in the late 70s but also their great sense of humour.
I got to see them in concert on their debut album in 1979, Corpus Christi, Texas at the Memorial Colosseum. I still remember hearing "I Want You To Want Me" on the radio, advertising the Cheap Trick concert. Only Rick is allowed to wear clothes with a self portrait. LOL
One of the best CT shows I ever attended was at the Pig Pen in Clinton, Iowa. There were no more than three or four hundred people there. I was at the stage literally close enough to actually tie Robin's shoes (I didn't). They rocked hard as ever and it was truly fantastic.
I've been seeing the tours since the mid 70s. The only true mistake for this band is the Bun E Carlos thing. Bring him back! Shit! Not much of a surprise that the interviewer had no idea about the near disaster.
That's not going to happen. Between the lawsuits, Bun E.'S public trashing of the other members and Daxx playing just as well, if not better, than Bun for longer lengths of time...are all factors.
I hate interviewers who constantly talk over/interrupt the guests. Highly articulate and intelligent hosts like Piers can get away with it, but above guy is just super-annoying, in my opinion. I couldn't watch this interview for more than 5 minutes.
Really odd approach from the host. This is the 2nd show I've heard where he's actively pissing off the guests. He doesn't have good questions or much of a personality. The old host was always creepy. This guy's just dull and ineffectual. Get on it CBC.
I could listen to Tom talk about the drying process of cement and never become bored.

They are so great and lovely. I can't understand how people can dislike Cheap Trick.
Totally agree
Some people take themselves to seriously.... i love steely Dan but i love cheap Trick too...

+Thomas Fleming
Where he belongs.
I love them!!!

The fact that Rick tosses picks even during interviews makes me love him even more.

Cheap Trick, my 1st concert.....awesome, never forget it....
I'm proud to say I've been a fan since the beginning (yes I'm old) What a great band and a great interview 👍
Cheers! Glad you liked it!
Don't listener to the haters, kid. You did a good interview.
GREAT INTERVIEW... GREAT BAND
an admirer since 1977
I love them! They are so humble, just like they started 40 years ago. Here is to another 40, including Bun E. !

Love this in every way
Yes, great interview. Not sure why people think the interviewer was lackluster? He did a great job.

Love Cheat Trick. Always have.
Saw them play in a crappy club in the 90s and they were great!!
Two cool looking rock star types with two odd bizarre looking characters, Shouldn't work, yet it has, and they're now rock legends
saw these boys in 1980 at their hometown Rockford Illinois
Entertaining interview. Its so nice that CT value their fans, know their faces and names. I would've like to see CT and NWA do a joint venture.
I Feel This is THE BEST Inerview ever
Never seen Rick this tongue-tied before.
Bring back Bun E. Carlos :D

Rick used to come in and always order a cheeseburger with no mustard back when I worked at McDonald's.
Tom is cracking me up.

great
Wow
As much as I really hate rap,it is today what thrash metal was in the 80s,it does have its place in the evolution of rock n roll
NWA was more punk rock than Green Day ever was or ever will be.
Lol Rick throwing picks like he's in concert
You set the pace because u kept the pace
This so-called interviewer is a legend in his own mind. Do your homework FIRST or get another carreer.
HOMIES.....
ROCKFORDS FINEST ✌
its called humbling #1respect
They are an awesome band, I would love to see them, but I’m never voting again on anything.
Loudest band I have ever seen.
Tom, there's a new invention, it's called a COMB!!!!
Hi Beep beep q from XYZ
Rick can't just not talk...hehe
#CheapTrick
It's an embarrassment to the RNRHOF that Cheap Trick was not in there! Every one knows that its political.
I now know why this interviewer was replaced.
Has this guy even heard of Cheap Trick?

Rap aint Rock N Roll.....i totally agree with Gene Simmons .

Get on it CBC.
Glad this fine band made it into the RRHOF. Now, it's time to remove KISS, Joan Jett, Heart, Donovan, Beastie Boys and RHCP (among others).
Haha wtf
What a terrible interview.
