so sad... i always loved the motor sounds of the c651, and its old design the failed refurbishment was really saddening too i'll really miss these trains once they're all gone! fly high in the rails up above, c651s!!
Yes, occassionally. The sound of the traction motor stands out from the rest of the NSEWL rolling stock and announcements are muffled. Thanks for all the wonderful memories Siemens C651, happy retirement!
C651 has always been my favourite model to ride since young prior to the arrival of C151B and R151 on the NSEWL. Currently, our 3 oldest trainsets (207/208, 213/214 and 215/216) are still healthy running together with the new R151 which is surprising considering they are quite old alr but still is good to see them still in service till now
Some of the notable features of the refurbished C651 trains, such as the STARiS V2 screen and the livery, were then transferred over to the C151B trains! Looks like the C151B trains took over the legacy of the refurbished C651 trains!
Maybe next year, one of the 2 C651s equipped with LVDT would retire next year, as one of the R151s equipped with ATI (Auto Track Inspection) has recently been spotted doing daytime mainline testing along the full stretch of the EWL.
I rode the siemen C651 as my favourite train on East west line. It was very rare to find one on North south line, but last time, i found it and took it. So, the siemen is top train
The only reason it is scrapped early is due to unrefuibuished interiors the interiors people who do not know about mrt trains think it is the oldest train in Singapore so they want to scrap it early.
Thats not a valid reason to retire early. SIE trains are using very outdated technology and with limited spare parts for maintenance its best to just retire all of them 1st.
The roles of 201/202 and 237/237/238 as LVDT (Linear Variable Displacement Transducer) trains will be taken over by the R151s equipped with Automatic Track Inspection (ATI).
Hi I am train enthusiast just started in 2022, wonderful video it’s very sad to see the second third generation train to be gone, however do you know why C151s will be the last old first generation to be scrapped this is because of the refurbishment in 2006 - 2008 it’s the latest newest then C651s C751Bs and it takes time to scrapped out the 54 sets until 2026.
Well I must say as of 4th October 2024, There are now Only 3 C651s left, and to make it worst, there are Only 2 C751Bs left, so catch these 2nd and 3rd Rolling Stock trains before its too late!! PS: C751Bs are confirmed to be phased out by End 2025 and C151s are to phased out by End 2026, plus I rode a C651 Train too!! The OG Engine sound makes me in love with it :)
Lucky me i caught simens c651 today 23 dec it started when i was at ns10 around 11.30 am and caught simens 237/238 on nsl and i ride all the way to bishun and guess what 3h later at around 3.00pm i caught the same c651 again but this time i rode from ns16 ang mo kio to ns9 woodlands how rare is that and what are the chances, i wannna record the ride but i forgot to bring my phone lol😅
4 c651 left. at least 77% of the c151 still exist
Stupid question: why c651 fully retire earlier than c151 when c651 is newer than c151?
@@ylchoibus11082fr
@@ylchoibus11082 because the c151s were refurbished in 2006

Funfact: 207/208, 213/214 and 215/216 are the only remaining C651s with the original/old SMRT logo.
The 3 oldest but a 'resilience' MRT trains especially 213/214 which is still running almost endlessly
The one where the red colour is washed out?

Is retired since yesterday 27th November 2024
Thank you, Siemens C651. Fly high because of the cancelled refurbishements...

I am visiting Singapore in October and want to ride this train at all costs. Will it still be running? 🙏
Quite hard to say, but probably by then would have 3 trains still around.

Im in the C651 rn but it is sad to hear its gonna retire😢
207/208 will continue service permenantly!
Thats so sad to hear. Saw one set on North South line. Really rare nowadays😢😢😢😢
*Rest In Peace to all the C651 trains...*
WE NEED A C651 TRAIN TO BE PRESERVED in the depot
Nice
Wait is this for real?
It actually rode 28 C651s.
3 c651 trains left. 2 c751b trains left. At least there are still 49 c151. I did not get to ride the c751b before
Last to leave: set 238 on 30th November
It's sad that the C651s had dissapeared but is the C151 still alive?
It’s sad seeing to see them permanently removed from revenue service 😭
Yes I have the difference between the r151 and c651 the r151 has the new closing sound while the c651 has the old closing sound
I’m Coming to Singapore in March, I hope I can still ride C651s
0:40 I thought 5?

At least we still have c151 but it is sad that c651 are getting scrapped😢

Supposedly all c651 and c751b are retired now, left at Tuas
