They can absolutely take a beating! Dont try to 3 wheel them tho, ask me how I know... 🙄 cracked the upper cab corners. (2 pumps, 4 dumps, 6 batteries, 10 switches) and 8 spark plugs... on a 4cyl 5sp... it was an experiment and must say it passed 🤘
Oh, forgot about the fast part. Had 100 spoke reversed 13s so even when the needle was buried at 110, it was actually 78. Every burnout would hop so nasty 😂 workin the switches right could bounce the front about 8 inches. It took hella beatings for 3yrs, traded it for a bike

@@ericwilliams2117 it is a turbo ls. The guy who built it and sold it to cleet, made a video about the car, explaining things to the next owner. So they could go back and see the video if they had questions about wiring and such. The video is still up if you sesrch for it.

I had an old 4 cyl. Ranger. Used to smoke turners off the line all the time. 4.10 towing read end is good for that. Great off the line, tops out at 130 kph.

Seeing this video I really get the impression those big american cars can't corner at all!! Would be interesting pitting those cars against a bone stock mercedes C230 with only 170 HP. I think you might be surprised what those puppies can do in the corners.

Entered an event just like this at Dominion Raceway in VA, it’s a ton of fun! They did put some cones on the centerline around the track to discourage people turning down on other drivers. Pre race negotiations involved choosing low or high line and usually gave the outside line a car length or two at the start. If you are near the Freedom Factory you should go and enter!,
A friend of mine made it to the final at Spanaway Speedway in Washington state. He had a moderately modded 91 mustang GT with the 5.0 and a manual gearbox. In the final race he went up against an 86 Ford LTD that had a 5.0 with a Paxton supercharger. About halfway around the track and coming out of the turn, the guy in the LTD did a pit maneuver by slightly pushing the driver side rear bumper of my friends mustang causing him a spin out and lose the race. The other guy took the trophy, and my friend got a small dent in his rear bumper. It was good fun though.

Getting those Ford Rangers to top speed is always good fun. It usually tops out at 125 MPH before the rev limiter brings it back to 120 MPH. Al it usually takes is getting 4th gear to high revs.
