Good suggestions. I was surprised by how far I've come along on my off grid homestead. Things I would add to the list would be ammunition, flour, yeast, & things that are 'already' valuable trades like cannabis, cash, & precious metals like silver. Do not stock pile gold as governments have a way of confiscating gold in times of crisis. Weapons, & bear mace are not bad ideas, but the biggest thing I learned from surviving Hurricane Katrina is that you can't shoot your way out of a crisis, you can only 'share' your way out. So, now is a great time to get to know your neighbors, plant a garden, & repair those fences. Good luck, & enjoy The Apocalypse ✌️
wow i really love your suggestions! i thought about adding cannabis, but since it isnt legal in every state i decided to take it off the list. and i agree about ammunition as well! great tips!
@@prepperqueen It's not illegal in my state. That's one BIG reason I relocated here. I'll never fly commercial again, & I'll never again step foot on land that criminalizes cannabis, & more importantly, those of US who have found healing through The Herb. It's just one more way they keep US enslaved, & compliant✌️
#1 item during pandemic when supplies were scarce, besides masks was TOILET PAPER and paper towels. Far harder to find than anything on your list, and thus is more valuable for trade than anything on your list. Toilet paper, tobacco and booze, will get you anything you want in trade.
If we go back to rationing because another world war starts, I am going to claim my meat ration even though I don’t eat meat, and barter the meat with someone who would rather have more meat, for things I do want like extra sugar, grain or cooking oils. If the whole world falls apart, I have a whole bunch of medical supplies and some medical training knowledge to trade. I have military ration meals too, that are meat that I won’t eat under usual circumstances, but kept anyhow specifically for trading reasons or in case somehow there’s no food at all and I then have to eat them. I don’t believe silver and gold will have any value if society falls apart because those metals are only valued now due to the fact that society agrees that they are expensive. Kind of like how the world says diamonds are valuable but if everyone suddenly decided they weren’t they’d be worthless. what good will silver or gold do people who are starving, or have no medication or water? No one’s going to want to trade for silver, they will want the food.
yes i completely agree that is the way to go! i have studied with a midwife and im a doula so that kind of thing could be useful to trade. i think medical expertise as well as veterinary would be especially useful for trade. very good to think about in advance, potentially even create a list of what you can barter and join barter groups on facebook now so that you grow your network of people you trust to trade with now
Just really discovered your channel. Honestly, not a bad channel at all.
thank you! 🙏🙏🙏
Ammunition should’ve been on this list. 👍🏾🇺🇸
Cool ideas . Thanks.
thank you!
