    You're a serious player and a monster programmer on the DX-7! Patch 5, "RM Boards" is astoundingly analog sounding! I'm learning FM synthesis on my very own newly acquired DX-7 and I have yet to be able to coax these types of sounds out of it, but I *will!*

      Thank you very much! Yes, learning how to program these instruments it’s a very rewarding thing, so have fun, enjoy the journey and make your great sounds out of these legendary boards 💪🏻

    That chcicky lead is one of my fave patches on any synth, sounds like Cadbury eggs in dx7 form

    One of the most beautiful synth ever. I have bought it to myself once long time ago as a Christmas gift and put it under the Christmas tree.

      I totally agree! Very beautiful.
      It think it goes along well with the Kurzweil K2000 and Oberheim Matrix 6. :)

    Brings back memories!!!
    I was 14 years old and got an education in DX7 programming in Denmark. It was 1984 when it was released. Ground breaking sound at the time. :)

    I love all the references in those presets!
    Daft Punk's Around the World and Something About Us, Dire Straits' Walk of Life, Martin Garrix's Animals, Deep Purple's Child in Time, Eurythmics' Sweet Dreams...
    I want to hear all those songs covered with your sounds now! Great job!

    These are really great sounds. I'm about to attempt to re-cap my dx7 power supply. Never done any circuit board work. Wish me luck!

    • @rm-studios
      @rm-studios  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good luck for that, shouldn’t be hard. Just be careful about the polarity of the caps. Or let it do by someone experienced. For them, it’s a ten minute work.

      @@rm-studios Do you think I can do it without a de-soldiering iron? I've done guitar wiring before, so I'm decent with a soldiering iron.

    • @rm-studios
      @rm-studios  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@anonymous_friend i don’t think it is strictly necessary. Caps are not so small there.

      I did recap on mine, but still wasn’t satisfied that DX7 getting warm after 30+ minutes, so I replaced PS with MeanWell one that produces +5V, +15V and -15V (sealed “in a cage” one). No problems with operation and warming now, and it takes less space inside :)

    Given how cheap a DX7 is these days, it would be worth getting one just to have these beautiful presets. Wonderful work.

    You really don't get to hear that many great patches on these DX7's... I usually find folk are using plain or standard boring unmodded stuff. More than half of these patches are excellent!!! Shows these early 80's digi's off to a newer audience :)

      Yeah they work but sometimes some patches have parameters that have to fix !
      Maybe these won't have those problems !
      But some others do !!
