Jacob’s a stuntman before the apocalypse, he is familiar with everything in monarch studios, pointing out the various things in the studios, he’s familiar with all the gimmicks they use for making movies
Jacob's honestly the best character, imo. His quips are actually fun and fit the moment, he's extremely nice, caring and both sympathetic and empathetic, anytime someone dies he asks his mom in Heaven to make them feel warm and welcome, he's always talking to his mom and reassuring her he'll be okay and won't end up with her anytime soon, and so on.
@@steelwitness Nothing is out of place, personality wise, because the apocalypse just started. No one suddenly changes their personality, especially in the beginning of the apocalypse. No one seems out of character imo, just choose who you prefer.
@@Chaff the beginning of the apocalypse is when the most radical changes would be happening. after killing a human being youre going to be different and in reality people arent going to just jump into this "theyre just zombies" mentality right away. theyd be devastated. youre clearly just an idiot
dude looks and acts like a hotshot, but he sounds honestly terrified when talking to himself or his mom at points. Not to mention when finishing the lifeguard quest where he asks his mom to keep his room open for the lifeguard
Jacob is honestly not bad. I first played Amy cause I liked her dash strike only to find out everybody else has it aswell and its not just tied to Amy. I loved the parts where he talked about his mom. Something about that is just wholesome. His voice actor nailed it.
It’s only some perks that are exclusive to the characters. It’s like each pair of characters share the perk(s). The pairs that have exclusive perks are: Bruno and Amy Jacob and Dani Carla and Ryan But I think most of them are interchangeable.
My first character was Dani.. Feels like she is the most sarcastic but.. That part aside.. I was honestly hoping her card for explosive impacts was better than it was.. Kinda had the feeling it would be terrible though as I was on the select screen but still did it anyway... But playing all characters anyways so knew I would have to play her at some point and figured I would get her character out of the way from the start.. Hate it when my instincts are correct sometimes..

I like Carla the most because she has the best balance. She goes pretty crazy in the carnage and mayhem, but she's just so sweet to Patton and that lifeguard guy who asks for his lucky charm. Like she's surprised that he's even embarrassed about asking for it. I really liked her character. She gets kinda soft spoken when the situation requires it. It was neat. I also like her voice actress the most.
Yeah I played through my first time with Jacob he's a badass helmet gets access to some of the best cards early on and he's the funniest and most aware of the situations like when you meet new apex zombies for the first time or the whole movie studio
Honestly, Ryan's dialogue throughout the game is the same type of stuff i would be saying in this type of situation. He has to be the first character that i actually can compare to.

Im not seeing Dani get enough love here, she has a lot of dry witty comments that fit her character so well, and her interactions with rickys quests are great, overall I think her character is lively and has well done personality
I chose Ryan as my first play through. I love how he talks like he’s just a little in over his head but has the performing experience with enough crazy bachelorettes and dancing gigs to just roll with things.
You know, from where they entered in, you'd think the set production would've had some extra button to open the slides of a fake elevator when show time is over by now.
I like Jacob because I like his personality. Ryan is the most believable and relatable if a tone was in that situation. Not really sure about anyone else. Kinda only like them two
So many games have missions that take place on a movie set, or something similar and just don't take advantage of the set pieces you can create when you have a level like this. The devs for Dead Island 2 nailed this area. The variety in Monarch studios is great, you have the actors still dressed in their WW2 army outfits, you have the actors painted like tribesmen, you can even find boom operators and film crew members. You have an area where sitcoms get filmed, a faux jungle, the spider over the diner, the attention to detail and them just having fun with the set pieces made it one of my favorite areas in the game despite it not being very big.
Most likely is thanks to his experience on the set, and the others didn't realize that a movie set probably don't have a elevator and they could look up to where the second floor should have been and see studio lights.

The most rational explanation would be that every character besides Jacob were freaking out and saw an elevator door and immediately thought it WAS an elevator. Jacob being a stuntman would have technically been in his environment in Monarch Studios.
Jacob is honestly the best character in the game bc his voice lines fit the given scenario he finds himself in & he often talks to his mom when facing adversity & often tells his mom to not worry about him joining her anytime soon, knowing that she’s watching over him & can hear him basically tell his mom to be welcoming & make those that “joined” her comfortable when they get there. It’s really sweet tbh
And on Patton’s “Excalibur” scene you can see that Jacob is the only one concerned about what happened to the zombie after patton blow it head with a smol hammer would likely apply to him too
All of Jacobs lines are comedic relief, yet a lot of most serious moments he actually goes serious and sounds concerned. Everyone else just sounds generic or dumb. Especially Amy

thats like the charm of the character, there is Carla: a street fighter who really love fights, Dani: Punk girl, someone who never miss a party, Amy: I think she is more like XXX movie character (I mean Vin Diesel ones) extreme sports, Ryan: action guy, fireman his only ocupation for real is your safe from the bad situation, Bruno: a kid like all the players of this game maybe with a little more than luck and finally, Jacob: movie guy, is like the more oldest than the others experience seen some kind of stuff like this

Jacob is the best IMO. Hes stylish, smart, funny and actually caring. His movie references and quips always make me laugh, especially the Silence of the Lambs Reference 😂
Ive played only Ryan and seen parts of playthroughs with the rest. He is the only one that seems normal honestly. He doesnt even play into his "stripper" side very much in his dialogue, and has the most normal reactions of them all.
I havnt experimented with other characters. But I picked Jacob on a whim and I definitely don’t regret it. He’s very enjoyable to listen to and play as.

It is interesting to see that the only person who recognizes that is Jacob, however he also makes multiple references to his prior occupation of being a stuntman while you are progressing through Monarch Studios.
Did a playthrough with every characters, and for me, the best is Bruno, love his personality, he's caring, empathic and the way he's counting down numbers everytime he's in a tough situation is a nice touch
It also probably is due to his reported and shown love and intervention in the movie biz (as mentioned by his stories of watching movies with his mom). Jacob used to be a Stuntman before the outbreak happened. Although he is reportedly pretty smart, having been a sucessfull broker in the London Stock Exchange before moving to LA.
Lol, my reaction when I first saw the doors were "So he went through those fake elevator doors." but when Ryan said "He must've taken this Elevator" and the prompt told me to "wait for the elevator" I was like "Wait, it's a REAL Elevator? That must've cost a fortune" but when the doors open I was "I KNEW IT!" and laughed harder than I probably should've.
I haven't played a whole lot of the other characters but Jacob seems to me to have all the best lines in the game. He's my absolute favorite to play and I get the impression that they either put more thought into his character or he was one of their first ideas for a playable character. 10/10
I think it is because Jacob is already in the movie industry he knows how things are on a set. Hes like a stuntman, so its not surprising that he knows these things.
i’m glad i picked him he fit so well. i went in there thinking oh yea i’m picking amy but when i actually looked through it i went with jacob. couldn’t imagine using a different character.

Jacob seems to act around the 4th wall most of the time. He always notes how dramatic things seem and definitely sees around the setups.
I reckon part of the reason is because he was a stuntman. Likely for actual movies that may or may not have utilized similar tropes.

Carla is honestly a sweetheart beneath all the bloodlust. And yeah, her stats are fantastic for an autophage build. She shreds.

Jacob was my first character and given any situation he is in he plays on along with what's going and yet understood around him .

Jacobs hands down got the best dialogue. his humour is relatable and his wittiness is brilliant.
Not just that, but also from experience with Jacob's history with performing stunts and probably has familiarity with props.
Jacob has been my favorite character ever since I saw him in the trailer. I love him.
It is interesting to see that the only person who recognizes that is Jacob, however he also makes multiple references to his prior occupation of being a stuntman while you are progressing through Monarch Studios.
You forgot to mention that Jacob is a stunt master, he worked in studios so he knows about elevator by default
Did a playthrough with every characters, and for me, the best is Bruno, love his personality, he's caring, empathic and the way he's counting down numbers everytime he's in a tough situation is a nice touch
It's cool how when you see him you expect Lil pump but it turns out he's a street kid with a heart of gold

I played as Ryan and he is honestly hilarious the entire time
It also probably is due to his reported and shown love and intervention in the movie biz (as mentioned by his stories of watching movies with his mom). Jacob used to be a Stuntman before the outbreak happened. Although he is reportedly pretty smart, having been a sucessfull broker in the London Stock Exchange before moving to LA.

Lol, my reaction when I first saw the doors were "So he went through those fake elevator doors." but when Ryan said "He must've taken this Elevator" and the prompt told me to "wait for the elevator" I was like "Wait, it's a REAL Elevator? That must've cost a fortune" but when the doors open I was "I KNEW IT!" and laughed harder than I probably should've.
I haven't played a whole lot of the other characters but Jacob seems to me to have all the best lines in the game. He's my absolute favorite to play and I get the impression that they either put more thought into his character or he was one of their first ideas for a playable character. 10/10

Well Jacob is also a stunt double, it is presumed that he would have some familiarity with movie sets
Not only do I enjoy playing as Jacob the most, but his voice lines and feel make the game much lighter and more enjoyable

I think it is because Jacob is already in the movie industry he knows how things are on a set. Hes like a stuntman, so its not surprising that he knows these things.
i’m glad i picked him he fit so well. i went in there thinking oh yea i’m picking amy but when i actually looked through it i went with jacob. couldn’t imagine using a different character.
